Genesis 35
1 Then God sayde to Iaakob, Arise, goe vp to Beth-el and dwell there, and make there an altar vnto God, that appeared vnto thee, when thou fleddest from Esau thy brother.
Entonces ʼElohim dijo a Jacob: Levántate, sube a Bet-ʼEl y vive allí. Haz allí un altar al ʼEL que se te apareció cuando huías de tu hermano Esaú.
2 Then saide Iaakob vnto his houshold and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and clense your selues, and change your garments:
Entonces Jacob dijo a su casa y a todos los que estaban con él: Quiten los ídolos que hay entre ustedes, purifíquense y muden sus ropas.
3 For we will rise and goe vp to Beth-el, and I will make an altar there vnto God, which heard me in the day of my tribulation, and was with me in the way which I went.
Levantémonos y subamos a Bet-ʼEl. Allí haré un altar al ʼEL que me respondió el día de mi angustia, y ha estado conmigo dondequiera que he ido.
4 And they gaue vnto Iaakob all the strange gods, which were in their hands, and all their earings which were in their eares, and Iaakob hidde them vnder an oke, which was by Shechem.
Le dieron a Jacob todos los ídolos que tenían en su poder y los zarcillos que tenían en sus orejas. Jacob los enterró debajo de un roble que estaba junto a Siquem.
5 Then they went on their iourney, and the feare of God was vpon the cities that were roud about them: so that they did not follow after the sonnes of Iaakob.
Cuando salieron, hubo un terror sobrenatural sobre las ciudades circunvecinas, y no persiguieron a los hijos de Jacob.
6 So came Iaakob to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan: (the same is Beth-el) hee and all the people that was with him.
Jacob, con todo el pueblo que lo acompañaba, llegó a Luz, que es Bet-ʼEl, en tierra de Canaán.
7 And he built there an altar, and had called the place, The God of Beth-el, because that God appeared vnto him there, when he fled from his brother.
Edificó allí un altar y llamó el lugar ʼEl-bet-ʼEl, porque allí se le reveló ʼElohim cuando huía de su hermano.
8 Then Deborah Rebekahs nourse dyed, and was buried beneath Beth-el vnder an oke: and he called the name of it Allon Bachuth.
Entonces Débora, ama de crianza de Rebeca, murió. Fue sepultada en la parte baja de Bet-ʼEl, debajo del roble, y Jacob lo llamó Roble del Llanto.
9 Againe God appeared vnto Iaakob, after he came out of Padan Aram, and blessed him.
ʼElohim se apareció otra vez a Jacob después que regresó de Padan-aram. Lo bendijo
10 Moreouer God said vnto him, Thy name is Iaakob: thy name shalbe no more called Iaakob, but Israel shalbe thy name: and hee called his name Israel.
y ʼElohim le dijo: Tu nombre es Jacob. Ya no será tu nombre Jacob, Sino tu nombre será Israel. Y lo llamó Israel.
11 Againe God said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. growe, and multiplie. a nation and a multitude of nations shall spring of thee, and Kings shall come out of thy loynes.
Después ʼElohim le dijo: Yo soy ʼEL-Shadday: Fructifica y multiplícate. Una nación y un grupo de naciones procederá de ti, y reyes saldrán de ti.
12 Also I will giue the lande, which I gaue to Abraham and Izhak, vnto thee: and vnto thy seede after thee will I giue that land.
La tierra que di a Abraham y a Isaac, te la doy a ti. También la daré a tu descendencia.
13 So God ascended from him in the place where he had talked with him.
ʼElohim ascendió de su lado, del lugar donde habló con él.
14 And Iaakob set vp a pillar in the place where he talked with him, a pillar of stone, and powred drinke offring thereon: also hee powred oyle thereon.
Jacob erigió una estela en el lugar donde habló con él, una estela de piedra. Derramó una libación y aceite sobre ella.
15 And Iaakob called the name of the place, where God spake with him, Beth-el.
Jacob llamó el lugar donde ʼElohim habló con él Bet-ʼEl.
16 Then they departed from Beth-el, and when there was about halfe a daies iourney of ground to come to Ephrath, Rahel trauailed, and in trauailing she was in perill.
Salieron de Bet-ʼEl, y cuando faltaba una corta distancia para llegar a Efrata, le llegó a Raquel el trance de dar a luz. Su parto fue difícil.
17 And whe she was in paines of her labour, the midwife saide vnto her, Feare not: for thou shalt haue this sonne also.
Aconteció que en la dificultad de su parto, la partera le dijo: No temas, que también tendrás este hijo.
18 Then as she was about to yeelde vp the Ghost (for she died) she called his name Ben-oni, but his father called him Beniamin.
Ocurrió que al salir su alma, pues murió, lo llamó Benoni, pero su padre lo llamó Benjamín.
19 Thus died Rahel, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
Así Raquel murió, y fue sepultada en el camino de Efrata, la cual es Belén.
20 And Iaakob set a pillar vpon her graue: This is the pillar of Rahels graue vnto this day.
Jacob erigió una estela sobre su sepultura. Ésta es la estela de la tumba de Raquel hasta hoy.
21 Then Israel went forwarde, and pitched his tent beyond Migdal-eder.
Israel salió y plantó su tienda más allá de la torre de Éder.
22 Now, when Israel dwelt in that land, Reuben went, and lay with Bilhah his fathers concubine, and it came to Israels eare. And Iaakob had twelue sonnes.
Mientras Israel vivía en aquella tierra, aconteció que Rubén fue y se unió con Bilha, la concubina de su padre, e Israel se enteró de ello.
23 The sonnes of Leah: Reuben Iaakobs eldest sonne, and Simeon, and Leui, and Iudah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.
Ahora bien, los hijos de Jacob fueron 12. Hijos de Lea: Rubén el primogénito, Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar y Zabulón.
24 The sonnes of Rahel: Ioseph and Beniamin.
Hijos de Raquel: José y Benjamín.
25 And the sonnes of Bilhah Rahels maide: Dan and Naphtali.
Hijos de Bilha, esclava de Raquel: Dan y Neftalí.
26 And the sonnes of Zilpah Leahs maide: Gad and Asher. These are the sonnes of Iaakob, which were borne him in Padan Aram.
E hijos de Zilpa, esclava de Lea: Gad y Aser. Estos fueron los hijos de Jacob que le nacieron en Pa-danrama.
27 Then Iaakob came vnto Izhak his father to Mamre a citie of Arbah: this is Hebron, where Abraham and Izhak were strangers.
Jacob fue a su padre Isaac, en Mamre, ciudad de Arba, que es Hebrón, precisamente donde Abraham e Isaac peregrinaron.
28 And the daies of Izhak were an hundreth and fourescore yeeres.
Los días de Isaac fueron 180 años.
29 And Izhak gaue vp the ghost and died, and was gathered vnto his people, being olde and full of daies: and his sonnes Esau and Iaakob buried him.
Isaac expiró y fue unido a su pueblo, anciano y lleno de días. Lo sepultaron sus hijos Esaú y Jacob.
