Genesis 35
1 Then God sayde to Iaakob, Arise, goe vp to Beth-el and dwell there, and make there an altar vnto God, that appeared vnto thee, when thou fleddest from Esau thy brother.
Dijo Dios a Jacob: “Levántate, sube a Betel, donde habitarás, y construye allí un altar al Dios que se te apareció cuando ibas huyendo de Esaú, tu hermano.
2 Then saide Iaakob vnto his houshold and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and clense your selues, and change your garments:
Dijo, pues, Jacob a su familia, y a todos los que con él estaban: “Apartad los dioses extraños que hay en medio de vosotros; purificaos y mudad vuestros vestidos.
3 For we will rise and goe vp to Beth-el, and I will make an altar there vnto God, which heard me in the day of my tribulation, and was with me in the way which I went.
Nos levantaremos para subir a Betel, donde construiré un altar al Dios que me oyó en el día de mi angustia y me asistió en el camino por donde he andado.”
4 And they gaue vnto Iaakob all the strange gods, which were in their hands, and all their earings which were in their eares, and Iaakob hidde them vnder an oke, which was by Shechem.
Entonces entregaron a Jacob todos los dioses extraños que tenían, y los pendientes que traían en las orejas; y Jacob los escondió bajo la encina que está cerca de Siquem.
5 Then they went on their iourney, and the feare of God was vpon the cities that were roud about them: so that they did not follow after the sonnes of Iaakob.
Luego se pusieron en marcha, y vino el terror de Dios sobre las ciudades circunvecinas, de manera que no persiguieron a los hijos de Jacob.
6 So came Iaakob to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan: (the same is Beth-el) hee and all the people that was with him.
Llegó, pues, Jacob a Luz, en tierra de Canaán, que es Betel, él y todo su pueblo con él.
7 And he built there an altar, and had called the place, The God of Beth-el, because that God appeared vnto him there, when he fled from his brother.
Allí erigió un altar, y llamó al lugar El-Betel; porque allí se le apareció Dios, cuando huía de su hermano.
8 Then Deborah Rebekahs nourse dyed, and was buried beneath Beth-el vnder an oke: and he called the name of it Allon Bachuth.
Y murió Débora, nodriza de Rebeca, y fue enterrada al pie de Betel, bajo una encina, la cual fue llamada Encina del Llanto.
9 Againe God appeared vnto Iaakob, after he came out of Padan Aram, and blessed him.
Apareciose Dios otra vez a Jacob después de su vuelta de Mesopotamia, y le bendijo.
10 Moreouer God said vnto him, Thy name is Iaakob: thy name shalbe no more called Iaakob, but Israel shalbe thy name: and hee called his name Israel.
Dios le dijo: “Tu nombre es Jacob; pero ya no te llamarás Jacob; tu nombre será Israel.” Y le puso por nombre Israel.
11 Againe God said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. growe, and multiplie. a nation and a multitude of nations shall spring of thee, and Kings shall come out of thy loynes.
Y le dijo Dios: “Yo soy el Dios Omnipotente. Crece y multiplícate; de ti nacerá una nación y una multitud de naciones, y reyes saldrán de tus lomos.
12 Also I will giue the lande, which I gaue to Abraham and Izhak, vnto thee: and vnto thy seede after thee will I giue that land.
Y la tierra que di a Abrahán y a Isaac, te la daré a ti; a tu posteridad después de ti daré esta tierra.”
13 So God ascended from him in the place where he had talked with him.
Y desapareció Dios de su presencia, en el lugar donde había hablado con él.
14 And Iaakob set vp a pillar in the place where he talked with him, a pillar of stone, and powred drinke offring thereon: also hee powred oyle thereon.
En aquel lugar donde había hablado con él levantó Jacob un monumento, un monumento de piedra, sobre el cual ofreció una libación y derramó óleo.
15 And Iaakob called the name of the place, where God spake with him, Beth-el.
Y Jacob dio al lugar donde Dios le había hablado, el nombre de Betel.
16 Then they departed from Beth-el, and when there was about halfe a daies iourney of ground to come to Ephrath, Rahel trauailed, and in trauailing she was in perill.
Partieron de Betel, y faltaba aún algún trecho de camino para llegar a Efrata cuando Raquel dio a luz. Tuvo ella un duro parto,
17 And whe she was in paines of her labour, the midwife saide vnto her, Feare not: for thou shalt haue this sonne also.
y cuando peligraba en el parto, le dijo la partera: “No temas, porque también esta vez tienes un hijo.”
18 Then as she was about to yeelde vp the Ghost (for she died) she called his name Ben-oni, but his father called him Beniamin.
Y al salir su alma —pues estaba ya moribunda— le llamó Benoní; mas su padre le llamó Benjamín.
19 Thus died Rahel, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
Murió, pues, Raquel y fue sepultada en el camino de Efrata, que es Betlehem.
20 And Iaakob set a pillar vpon her graue: This is the pillar of Rahels graue vnto this day.
Erigió Jacob un monumento sobre su tumba, es el monumento de la tumba de Raquel hasta el día de hoy.
21 Then Israel went forwarde, and pitched his tent beyond Migdal-eder.
Partió Israel y asentó sus tiendas más allá de Migdal-Eder.
22 Now, when Israel dwelt in that land, Reuben went, and lay with Bilhah his fathers concubine, and it came to Israels eare. And Iaakob had twelue sonnes.
Y mientras moraba Israel en aquella región, fue Rubén y cohabitó con Bilhá, concubina de su padre, lo que supo Israel. Los hijos de Israel eran doce:
23 The sonnes of Leah: Reuben Iaakobs eldest sonne, and Simeon, and Leui, and Iudah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.
Hijos de Lía: Rubén, el primogénito de Jacob; Simeón, Leví, Judá, Isacar y Zabulón.
24 The sonnes of Rahel: Ioseph and Beniamin.
Hijos de Raquel: José y Benjamín.
25 And the sonnes of Bilhah Rahels maide: Dan and Naphtali.
Hijos de Bilhá, sierva de Raquel: Dan y Neftalí.
26 And the sonnes of Zilpah Leahs maide: Gad and Asher. These are the sonnes of Iaakob, which were borne him in Padan Aram.
Hijos de Silfá, sierva de Lía: Gad y Aser. Estos son los hijos de Jacob que le nacieron en Mesopotamia.
27 Then Iaakob came vnto Izhak his father to Mamre a citie of Arbah: this is Hebron, where Abraham and Izhak were strangers.
Fue Jacob adonde vivía Isaac, su padre, a Mamré, a Quiriat Arbá, que es Hebrón, donde moraron como extranjeros Abrahán e Isaac.
28 And the daies of Izhak were an hundreth and fourescore yeeres.
Fueron los días de Isaac ciento ochenta años.
29 And Izhak gaue vp the ghost and died, and was gathered vnto his people, being olde and full of daies: and his sonnes Esau and Iaakob buried him.
Anciano y colmado de días expiró Isaac y murió, y fue reunido con su pueblo; le sepultaron sus hijos Esaú y Jacob.
