Genesis 33
1 And as Iaakob lift vp his eyes, and looked, behold, Esau came, and with him foure hundreth men: and he deuided the children to Leah, and to Rahel, and to the two maides.
Jacob alzó los ojos y miró, y he aquí que Esaú venía, y con él cuatrocientos hombres. Repartió los niños entre Lea, Raquel y los dos criadas.
2 And he put the maides, and their children formost, and Leah, and her children after, and Rahel, and Ioseph hindermost.
Puso a los siervos y a sus hijos al frente, a Lea y a sus hijos después, y a Raquel y a José en la retaguardia.
3 So he went before them and bowed him selfe to the ground seuen times, vntill he came neere to his brother.
Él mismo pasó delante de ellos y se inclinó hasta el suelo siete veces, hasta llegar cerca de su hermano.
4 Then Esau ranne to meete him, and embraced him, and fell on his necke, and kissed him, and they wept.
Esaú corrió a su encuentro, lo abrazó, se echó a su cuello y lo besó, y lloraron.
5 And he lift vp his eyes, and sawe the women, and the children, and saide, Who are these with thee? And he answered, They are ye childre whome God of his grace hath giuen thy seruant.
Levantó los ojos y vio a las mujeres y a los niños, y dijo: “¿Quiénes son estos que están contigo?” Dijo: “Los hijos que Dios ha dado a tu siervo”.
6 Then came the maides neere, they, and their children, and bowed themselues.
Entonces las siervas se acercaron con sus hijos y se inclinaron.
7 Leah also with her children came neere and made obeysance: and after Ioseph and Rahel drew neere, and did reuerence.
También Lía y sus hijos se acercaron y se inclinaron. Después de ellos, José se acercó con Raquel, y se inclinaron.
8 Then he said, What meanest thou by all this droue, which I met? Who answered, I haue sent it, that I may finde fauour in the sight of my lorde:
Esaú dijo: “¿Qué quieres decir con toda esta compañía que he conocido?” Jacob dijo: “Para encontrar el favor a los ojos de mi señor”.
9 And Esau said, I haue ynough, my brother: keepe that thou hast to thy selfe.
Esaú dijo: “Tengo suficiente, hermano mío; que lo que tienes sea tuyo”.
10 But Iaakob answered, Nay, I pray thee: if I haue found grace nowe in thy sight, then receiue my present at mine hande: for I haue seene thy face, as though I had seene the face of God, because thou hast accepted me.
Jacob dijo: “Por favor, no, si ahora he encontrado gracia ante tus ojos, recibe mi regalo de mi mano, porque he visto tu rostro, como se ve el rostro de Dios, y te has complacido en mí.
11 I pray thee take my blessing, that is brought thee: for God hath had mercie on me, and therefore I haue all things: so he compelled him, and he tooke it.
Toma, por favor, el regalo que te he traído, porque Dios ha sido benévolo conmigo, y porque tengo bastante”. Le instó, y lo tomó.
12 And he saide, Let vs take our iourney and go, and I will goe before thee.
Esaú dijo: “Emprendamos nuestro viaje y vayamos, y yo iré delante de ti”.
13 Then he answered him, My lord knoweth, that the children are tender, and the ewes and kine with yong vnder mine hande: and if they should ouerdriue them one day, all the flocke would die.
Jacob le dijo: “Mi señor sabe que los niños son tiernos, y que los rebaños y las manadas que están conmigo tienen sus crías, y si un día se exceden, todos los rebaños morirán.
14 Let now my lord go before his seruant, and I will driue softly, according to ye pase of ye cattel, which is before me, and as the children be able to endure, vntill I come to my lord vnto Seir.
Por favor, deja que mi señor pase delante de su siervo, y yo seguiré con suavidad, según el paso del ganado que va delante de mí y según el paso de los niños, hasta que llegue a mi señor a Seir.”
15 Then Esau said, I will leaue then some of my folke with thee. And he answered, what needeth this? let me finde grace in the sight of my lorde.
Esaú dijo: “Déjame ahora dejar contigo a algunos de los que están conmigo”. Dijo: “¿Por qué? Déjeme encontrar el favor a los ojos de mi señor”.
16 So Esau returned, and went his way that same day vnto Seir.
Así que Esaú regresó aquel día de camino a Seir.
17 And Iaakob went forwarde towarde Succoth, and built him an house, and made boothes for his cattell: therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.
Jacob viajó a Sucot, se construyó una casa e hizo refugios para su ganado. Por eso el nombre del lugar se llama Sucot.
18 Afterward, Iaakob came safe to Sheche a citie, which is in the lande of Canaan, when he came from Padan Aram, and pitched before the citie.
Jacob llegó en paz a la ciudad de Siquem, que está en la tierra de Canaán, cuando venía de Padán Aram; y acampó ante la ciudad.
19 And there he bought a parcell of ground, where hee pitched his tent, at the hande of the sonnes of Hamor Shechems father, for an hundreth pieces of money.
Compró la parcela donde había tendido su tienda, de mano de los hijos de Hamor, padre de Siquem, por cien monedas.
20 And he set vp there an altar, and called it, The mightie God of Israel.
Levantó allí un altar y lo llamó El Elohe Israel.
