Genesis 33
1 And as Iaakob lift vp his eyes, and looked, behold, Esau came, and with him foure hundreth men: and he deuided the children to Leah, and to Rahel, and to the two maides.
Potem Jakub podniósł oczy i zobaczył, że Ezaw nadchodzi, a z nim czterystu mężczyzn. Podzielił więc dzieci między Leę, Rachelę a dwie służące.
2 And he put the maides, and their children formost, and Leah, and her children after, and Rahel, and Ioseph hindermost.
I postawił na przodzie służące i ich dzieci, za nimi Leę i jej dzieci, a na końcu Rachelę z Józefem.
3 So he went before them and bowed him selfe to the ground seuen times, vntill he came neere to his brother.
Sam zaś wyszedł przed nich i pokłonił się siedem razy aż do ziemi, zanim doszedł do swego brata.
4 Then Esau ranne to meete him, and embraced him, and fell on his necke, and kissed him, and they wept.
Ale Ezaw wybiegł mu naprzeciw, objął go, rzucił mu się na szyję i całował go. I płakali.
5 And he lift vp his eyes, and sawe the women, and the children, and saide, Who are these with thee? And he answered, They are ye childre whome God of his grace hath giuen thy seruant.
Potem podniósł oczy, zobaczył żony i dzieci i zapytał: [A] kim [są] ci przy tobie? I odpowiedział: [To są] dzieci, które Bóg w swej łaskawości dał twemu słudze.
6 Then came the maides neere, they, and their children, and bowed themselues.
Wtedy przybliżyły się służące ze swoimi dziećmi i pokłoniły się.
7 Leah also with her children came neere and made obeysance: and after Ioseph and Rahel drew neere, and did reuerence.
Przybliżyła się też Lea ze swoimi dziećmi i pokłoniły się. Potem przybliżyli się Józef i Rachela i pokłonili się.
8 Then he said, What meanest thou by all this droue, which I met? Who answered, I haue sent it, that I may finde fauour in the sight of my lorde:
I [Ezaw] zapytał: Co znaczy cały ten obóz, z którym się spotkałem? [Jakub] odpowiedział: Abym znalazł łaskę w oczach mego pana.
9 And Esau said, I haue ynough, my brother: keepe that thou hast to thy selfe.
Wtedy Ezaw powiedział: Ja mam dosyć, mój bracie, zatrzymaj to, co twoje.
10 But Iaakob answered, Nay, I pray thee: if I haue found grace nowe in thy sight, then receiue my present at mine hande: for I haue seene thy face, as though I had seene the face of God, because thou hast accepted me.
I Jakub powiedział: Nie, proszę, jeśli znalazłem teraz łaskę w twoich oczach, przyjmij dar z mojej ręki, bo gdy zobaczyłem twoje oblicze, to jakbym widział oblicze Boga, i ty łaskawie mnie przyjąłeś.
11 I pray thee take my blessing, that is brought thee: for God hath had mercie on me, and therefore I haue all things: so he compelled him, and he tooke it.
Przyjmij, proszę, mój dar, który ci przyniosłem, bo Bóg hojnie mi błogosławił, a mam dość wszystkiego. I tak nalegał na niego, że to przyjął.
12 And he saide, Let vs take our iourney and go, and I will goe before thee.
[Ezaw] powiedział: Ruszajmy w drogę i chodźmy, a ja pójdę przed tobą.
13 Then he answered him, My lord knoweth, that the children are tender, and the ewes and kine with yong vnder mine hande: and if they should ouerdriue them one day, all the flocke would die.
I [Jakub] mu odpowiedział: Mój pan wie, że mam ze sobą dzieci wątłe, a owce i krowy karmią młode. Jeśli popędzi się je przez cały dzień, zginie całe stado.
14 Let now my lord go before his seruant, and I will driue softly, according to ye pase of ye cattel, which is before me, and as the children be able to endure, vntill I come to my lord vnto Seir.
Niech mój pan, proszę, idzie przed swoim sługą, a ja będę szedł powoli, jak nadąży stado, które jest przede mną, i jak nadążą dzieci, aż przyjdę do mego pana do Seiru.
15 Then Esau said, I will leaue then some of my folke with thee. And he answered, what needeth this? let me finde grace in the sight of my lorde.
Wtedy Ezaw powiedział: Zostawię więc przy tobie [część] ludzi, którzy są ze mną. A on odpowiedział: A na cóż to? Obym znalazł łaskę w oczach mego pana.
16 So Esau returned, and went his way that same day vnto Seir.
I tego dnia Ezaw wrócił swą drogą do Seiru.
17 And Iaakob went forwarde towarde Succoth, and built him an house, and made boothes for his cattell: therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.
A Jakub wyruszył do Sukkot i zbudował sobie dom, i zrobił szałasy dla swoich stad. Dlatego nazwał to miejsce Sukkot.
18 Afterward, Iaakob came safe to Sheche a citie, which is in the lande of Canaan, when he came from Padan Aram, and pitched before the citie.
I Jakub przyszedł szczęśliwie do miasta Sychem, które było w ziemi Kanaan, gdy wrócił z Paddan-Aram, i rozbił obóz przed miastem.
19 And there he bought a parcell of ground, where hee pitched his tent, at the hande of the sonnes of Hamor Shechems father, for an hundreth pieces of money.
I za sto monet kupił od synów Hemora, ojca Sychema, część pola, na którym rozbił swój namiot.
20 And he set vp there an altar, and called it, The mightie God of Israel.
Tam też postawił ołtarz i nazwał go: Mocny Bóg Izraela.
