Genesis 33
1 And as Iaakob lift vp his eyes, and looked, behold, Esau came, and with him foure hundreth men: and he deuided the children to Leah, and to Rahel, and to the two maides.
| آنگاه یعقوب از فاصلهٔ دور دید که عیسو با چهارصد نفر از افراد خود می‌آید. پس فرزندانش را بین لیه و راحیل و دو کنیز تقسیم کرد. |
2 And he put the maides, and their children formost, and Leah, and her children after, and Rahel, and Ioseph hindermost.
| بدین ترتیب خانواده‌اش را در یک صف به سه دسته تقسیم کرد. در دستهٔ اول دو کنیز او و فرزندانشان، در دستهٔ دوم لیه و فرزندانش و در دستهٔ سوم راحیل و یوسف قرار داشتند. |
3 So he went before them and bowed him selfe to the ground seuen times, vntill he came neere to his brother.
| خود یعقوب نیز در پیشاپیش آنها حرکت می‌کرد. وقتی یعقوب به برادرش نزدیک شد، هفت مرتبه او را تعظیم کرد. |
4 Then Esau ranne to meete him, and embraced him, and fell on his necke, and kissed him, and they wept.
| عیسو دوان‌دوان به استقبال او شتافت و او را در آغوش کشیده، بوسید و هر دو گریستند. |
5 And he lift vp his eyes, and sawe the women, and the children, and saide, Who are these with thee? And he answered, They are ye childre whome God of his grace hath giuen thy seruant.
| سپس عیسو نگاهی به زنان و کودکان انداخت و پرسید: «این همراهان تو کیستند؟» یعقوب گفت: «فرزندانی هستند که خدا به بنده‌ات عطا فرموده است.» |
6 Then came the maides neere, they, and their children, and bowed themselues.
| آنگاه کنیزان با فرزندانشان جلو آمده، عیسو را تعظیم کردند، |
7 Leah also with her children came neere and made obeysance: and after Ioseph and Rahel drew neere, and did reuerence.
| بعد لیه و فرزندانش و آخر همه راحیل و یوسف پیش آمدند و او را تعظیم نمودند. |
8 Then he said, What meanest thou by all this droue, which I met? Who answered, I haue sent it, that I may finde fauour in the sight of my lorde:
| عیسو پرسید: «این همه گله و رمه که در راه دیدم، چیستند؟» یعقوب گفت: «آنها را هدیۀ من است به تو، تا مورد لطف تو قرار گیرم.» |
9 And Esau said, I haue ynough, my brother: keepe that thou hast to thy selfe.
| عیسو گفت: «برادر، من خود گله و رمه به قدر کافی دارم. آنها را برای خودت نگاه دار.» |
10 But Iaakob answered, Nay, I pray thee: if I haue found grace nowe in thy sight, then receiue my present at mine hande: for I haue seene thy face, as though I had seene the face of God, because thou hast accepted me.
| یعقوب پاسخ داد: «اگر واقعاً مورد لطف تو واقع شده‌ام، التماس دارم هدیهٔ مرا قبول کنی. دیدن روی تو برای من مانند دیدن روی خدا بود! حال که تو با مهربانی مرا پذیرفتی، |
11 I pray thee take my blessing, that is brought thee: for God hath had mercie on me, and therefore I haue all things: so he compelled him, and he tooke it.
| پس هدایایی را که به تو پیشکش کرده‌ام قبول فرما. خدا نسبت به من بسیار بخشنده بوده و تمام احتیاجاتم را رفع کرده است.» یعقوب آنقدر اصرار کرد تا عیسو آنها را پذیرفت. |
12 And he saide, Let vs take our iourney and go, and I will goe before thee.
| عیسو گفت: «آماده شو تا برویم. من و افرادم تو را همراهی خواهیم کرد.» |
13 Then he answered him, My lord knoweth, that the children are tender, and the ewes and kine with yong vnder mine hande: and if they should ouerdriue them one day, all the flocke would die.
| یعقوب گفت: «چنانکه می‌بینی بعضی از بچه‌ها کوچکند و رمه‌ها و گله‌ها نوزادانی دارند که اگر آنها را به سرعت برانیم همگی تلف خواهند شد. |
14 Let now my lord go before his seruant, and I will driue softly, according to ye pase of ye cattel, which is before me, and as the children be able to endure, vntill I come to my lord vnto Seir.
| ای سرورم، شما جلوتر از بنده‌ات بروید و ما هم همراه بچه‌ها و گله‌ها آهسته می‌آییم و در سعیر به شما ملحق می‌شویم.» |
15 Then Esau said, I will leaue then some of my folke with thee. And he answered, what needeth this? let me finde grace in the sight of my lorde.
| عیسو گفت: «لااقل بگذار چند نفر از افرادم همراهتان باشند تا شما را راهنمایی و محافظت کنند.» یعقوب پاسخ داد: «لزومی ندارد، ما خودمان می‌آییم. از لطف سَروَرم سپاسگزارم.» |
16 So Esau returned, and went his way that same day vnto Seir.
| عیسو همان روز راه خود را پیش گرفته، به سعیر مراجعت نمود، |
17 And Iaakob went forwarde towarde Succoth, and built him an house, and made boothes for his cattell: therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.
| اما یعقوب با خانواده‌اش به سوکوت رفت و در آنجا برای خود خیمه و برای گله‌ها و رمه‌هایش سایبانها درست کرد. به همین دلیل آن مکان را سوکوت نامیده‌اند. |
18 Afterward, Iaakob came safe to Sheche a citie, which is in the lande of Canaan, when he came from Padan Aram, and pitched before the citie.
| سپس از آنجا به سلامتی به شکیم واقع در کنعان کوچ کردند و خارج از شهر خیمه زدند. |
19 And there he bought a parcell of ground, where hee pitched his tent, at the hande of the sonnes of Hamor Shechems father, for an hundreth pieces of money.
| او زمینی را که در آن خیمه زده بود از خانوادهٔ حمور، پدر شکیم به صد پاره نقره خرید. |
20 And he set vp there an altar, and called it, The mightie God of Israel.
| در آنجا یعقوب مذبحی ساخت و آن را «اِل الوهی اسرائیل» نامید. |
