Genesis 33
1 And as Iaakob lift vp his eyes, and looked, behold, Esau came, and with him foure hundreth men: and he deuided the children to Leah, and to Rahel, and to the two maides.
Yakubpun melayangkan pandangnya, lalu dilihatnyalah Esau datang dengan diiringi oleh empat ratus orang. Maka diserahkannyalah sebagian dari anak-anak itu kepada Lea dan sebagian kepada Rahel serta kepada kedua budak perempuan itu.
2 And he put the maides, and their children formost, and Leah, and her children after, and Rahel, and Ioseph hindermost.
Ia menempatkan budak-budak perempuan itu beserta anak-anak mereka di muka, Lea beserta anak-anaknya di belakang mereka, dan Rahel beserta Yusuf di belakang sekali.
3 So he went before them and bowed him selfe to the ground seuen times, vntill he came neere to his brother.
Dan ia sendiri berjalan di depan mereka dan ia sujud sampai ke tanah tujuh kali, hingga ia sampai ke dekat kakaknya itu.
4 Then Esau ranne to meete him, and embraced him, and fell on his necke, and kissed him, and they wept.
Tetapi Esau berlari mendapatkan dia, didekapnya dia, dipeluk lehernya dan diciumnya dia, lalu bertangis-tangisanlah mereka.
5 And he lift vp his eyes, and sawe the women, and the children, and saide, Who are these with thee? And he answered, They are ye childre whome God of his grace hath giuen thy seruant.
Kemudian Esau melayangkan pandangnya, dilihatnyalah perempuan-perempuan dan anak-anak itu, lalu ia bertanya: "Siapakah orang-orang yang beserta engkau itu?" Jawab Yakub: "Anak-anak yang telah dikaruniakan Allah kepada hambamu ini."
6 Then came the maides neere, they, and their children, and bowed themselues.
Sesudah itu mendekatlah budak-budak perempuan itu beserta anak-anaknya, lalu mereka sujud.
7 Leah also with her children came neere and made obeysance: and after Ioseph and Rahel drew neere, and did reuerence.
Mendekat jugalah Lea beserta anak-anaknya, dan merekapun sujud. Kemudian mendekatlah Yusuf beserta Rahel, dan mereka juga sujud.
8 Then he said, What meanest thou by all this droue, which I met? Who answered, I haue sent it, that I may finde fauour in the sight of my lorde:
Berkatalah Esau: "Apakah maksudmu dengan seluruh pasukan, yang telah bertemu dengan aku tadi?" Jawabnya: "Untuk mendapat kasih tuanku."
9 And Esau said, I haue ynough, my brother: keepe that thou hast to thy selfe.
Tetapi kata Esau: "Aku mempunyai banyak, adikku; peganglah apa yang ada padamu."
10 But Iaakob answered, Nay, I pray thee: if I haue found grace nowe in thy sight, then receiue my present at mine hande: for I haue seene thy face, as though I had seene the face of God, because thou hast accepted me.
Tetapi kata Yakub: "Janganlah kiranya demikian; jikalau aku telah mendapat kasihmu, terimalah persembahanku ini dari tanganku, karena memang melihat mukamu adalah bagiku serasa melihat wajah Allah, dan engkaupun berkenan menyambut aku.
11 I pray thee take my blessing, that is brought thee: for God hath had mercie on me, and therefore I haue all things: so he compelled him, and he tooke it.
Terimalah kiranya pemberian tanda salamku ini, yang telah kubawa kepadamu, sebab Allah telah memberi karunia kepadaku dan akupun mempunyai segala-galanya." Lalu dibujuk-bujuknyalah Esau, sehingga diterimanya.
12 And he saide, Let vs take our iourney and go, and I will goe before thee.
Kata Esau: "Baiklah kita berangkat berjalan terus; aku akan menyertai engkau."
13 Then he answered him, My lord knoweth, that the children are tender, and the ewes and kine with yong vnder mine hande: and if they should ouerdriue them one day, all the flocke would die.
Tetapi Yakub berkata kepadanya: "Tuanku maklum, bahwa anak-anak ini masih kurang kuat, dan bahwa beserta aku ada kambing domba dan lembu sapi yang masih menyusui, jika diburu-buru, satu hari saja, maka seluruh kumpulan binatang itu akan mati.
14 Let now my lord go before his seruant, and I will driue softly, according to ye pase of ye cattel, which is before me, and as the children be able to endure, vntill I come to my lord vnto Seir.
Biarlah kiranya tuanku berjalan lebih dahulu dari hambamu ini dan aku mau dengan hati-hati beringsut maju menurut langkah hewan, yang berjalan di depanku dan menurut langkah anak-anak, sampai aku tiba pada tuanku di Seir."
15 Then Esau said, I will leaue then some of my folke with thee. And he answered, what needeth this? let me finde grace in the sight of my lorde.
Lalu kata Esau: "Kalau begitu, baiklah kutinggalkan padamu beberapa orang dari pengiringku." Tetapi Yakub berkata: "Tidak usah demikian! Biarlah aku mendapat kasih tuanku saja."
16 So Esau returned, and went his way that same day vnto Seir.
Jadi pulanglah Esau pada hari itu berjalan ke Seir.
17 And Iaakob went forwarde towarde Succoth, and built him an house, and made boothes for his cattell: therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.
Tetapi Yakub berangkat ke Sukot, lalu mendirikan rumah, dan untuk ternaknya dibuatnya gubuk-gubuk. Itulah sebabnya tempat itu dinamai Sukot.
18 Afterward, Iaakob came safe to Sheche a citie, which is in the lande of Canaan, when he came from Padan Aram, and pitched before the citie.
Dalam perjalanannya dari Padan-Aram sampailah Yakub dengan selamat ke Sikhem, di tanah Kanaan, lalu ia berkemah di sebelah timur kota itu.
19 And there he bought a parcell of ground, where hee pitched his tent, at the hande of the sonnes of Hamor Shechems father, for an hundreth pieces of money.
Kemudian dibelinyalah dari anak-anak Hemor, bapa Sikhem, sebidang tanah, tempat ia memasang kemahnya, dengan harga seratus kesita.
20 And he set vp there an altar, and called it, The mightie God of Israel.
Ia mendirikan mezbah di situ dan dinamainya itu: "Allah Israel ialah Allah."
