Genesis 27
1 And when Izhak was olde, and his eyes were dimme (so that he coulde not see) he called Esau his eldest sonne, and sayde vnto him, My sonne. And he answered him, I am here.
Bởi Y-sác đã già, mắt làng chẳng thấy được nữa, bèn gọi Ê-sau, con trưởng nam, mà rằng: Hỡi con! Ê-sau thưa rằng: Có con đây.
2 Then he sayd, Beholde, I am nowe olde, and knowe not the day of my death:
Người bèn nói rằng: Nầy, cha đã già rồi, chẳng biết ngày nào phải chết;
3 Wherefore nowe, I pray thee take thine instruments, thy quiuer and thy bowe, and get thee to the fielde, that thou mayest take mee some venison.
vậy bây giờ, cha xin con hãy lấy khí giới, ống tên và cung con, ra đồng săn thịt rừng cho cha,
4 Then make mee sauourie meate, such as I loue, and bring it me that I may eat, and that my soule may blesse thee, before I die.
dọn một món ngon tùy theo cha sở thích; rồi dâng lên cho cha ăn, đặng linh hồn cha chúc phước cho con trước khi chết.
5 (Nowe Rebekah heard, when Izhak spake to Esau his sonne) and Esau went into the fielde to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
Vả, đương khi Y-sác nói cùng Ê-sau con trai mình, thì Rê-be-ca có nghe. Ê-sau bèn ra đồng săn thịt rừng đặng đem về cho cha.
6 Then Rebekah spake vnto Iaakob her sonne, saying, Beholde, I haue heard thy father talking with Esau thy brother, saying,
Rê-be-ca nói cùng Gia-cốp, con trai mình, rằng: Nầy, mẹ có nghe cha nói cùng Ê-sau, anh con, và dặn rằng:
7 Bring mee vension, and make mee sauourie meate, that I may eate and blesse thee before the Lord, afore my death.
Hãy đem thịt rừng về cho cha, dọn một món ngon cha ăn; đặng trước khi qua đời, cha sẽ chúc phước cho con trước mặt Ðức Giê-hô-va.
8 Nowe therefore, my sonne, heare my voyce in that which I command thee.
Vậy, con ơi! bây giờ, hãy nghe mẹ và làm theo lời mẹ biểu:
9 Get thee nowe to the flocke, and bring me thence two good kids of the goates, that I may make pleasant meate of them for thy father, such as he loueth.
Hãy ra ngoài bầy, bắt hai dê con tốt, rồi mẹ sẽ dọn cho cha con một món ngon, tùy theo người sở thích;
10 Then shalt thou bring it to thy father, and he shall eate, to the intent that he may blesse thee before his death.
con sẽ đem cho cha ăn, đặng người chúc phước con trước khi qua đời.
11 But Iaakob sayde to Rebekah his mother, Beholde, Esau my brother is rough, and I am smoothe.
Gia-cốp thưa lại cùng mẹ rằng: Thưa mẹ, Ê-sau, anh con, có lông, còn con lại không.
12 My father may possibly feele me, and I shall seem to him to be a mocker: so shall I bring a curse vpon me, and not a blessing.
Có lẽ cha sẽ rờ mình chăng, coi con như kẻ phỉnh gạt, thì con chắc lấy cho mình sự rủa sả, chớ chẳng phải sự chúc phước đâu.
13 But his mother sayd vnto him, vpon me be thy curse, my sonne: onely heare my voyce, and go and bring me them.
Mẹ đáp rằng: Con ơi! xin sự rủa sả đó để cho mẹ chịu; hãy cứ nghe lời mẹ, ra bắt hai dê con.
14 So he went and set them, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made pleasant meat, such as his father loued.
Vậy, Gia-cốp đi bắt hai dê con, đem lại cho mẹ, làm món ngon, tùy theo cha sở thích.
15 And Rebekah tooke faire clothes of her elder sonne Esau, which were in her house, and clothed Iaakob her yonger sonne:
Ðoạn Rê-be-ca lấy quần áo tốt nhứt của Ê-sau, con trưởng nam, sẵn để trong nhà, mà mặc vào cho Gia-cốp, con út mình;
16 And she couered his hands and the smoothe of his necke with the skinnes of the kiddes of the goates.
rồi người lấy da dê con bao hai tay và cổ, vì tay và cổ Gia-cốp không có lông.
17 Afterward she put the pleasant meate and bread, which she had prepared, in the hand of her sonne Iaakob.
Rê-be-ca bèn để món ngon và bánh của mình đã dọn vào tay con út mình.
18 And when he came to his father, he sayd, My father. Who answered, I am here: who art thou, my sonne?
Gia-cốp bưng đến cha mình và nói rằng: Thưa cha! Y-sác đáp: Có cha đây; con là đứa nào đó?
19 And Iaakob sayde to his father, I am Esau thy first borne, I haue done as thou badest me, arise, I pray thee: sit vp and eate of my venison, that thy soule may blesse me.
Gia-cốp thưa: Tôi là Ê-sau, con trưởng nam của cha; con đã làm theo lời cha dặn biểu; xin cha dậy, ngồi ăn lấy thịt săn của con, đặng linh hồn cha sẽ chúc phước cho con.
20 Then Izhak said vnto his sonne, Howe hast thou founde it so quickly my sonne? Who sayde, Because the Lord thy God brought it to mine hande.
Y-sác hỏi rằng: Sao con đi săn được mau thế? Thưa rằng: Ấy nhờ Giê-hô-va Ðức Chúa Trời của cha xui tôi gặp mau vậy.
21 Againe sayde Izhak vnto Iaakob, Come neere nowe, that I may feele thee, my sonne, whether thou be that my sonne Esau or not.
Y-sác nói cùng Gia-cốp rằng: Hỡi con! hãy lại gần đặng cha rờ thử xem có phải là Ê-sau, con của cha chăng?
22 Then Iaakob came neere to Izhak his father, and he felt him and sayd, The voyce is Iaakobs voyce, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
Gia-cốp bèn lại gần Y-sác; người rờ và nói rằng: Tiếng nói thì của Gia-cốp, còn hai tay lại của Ê-sau.
23 (For he knewe him not, because his hands were rough as his brother Esaus hands: wherefore he blessed him)
Người chẳng nhận biết đặng vì hai tay cũng có lông như của anh, là Ê-sau. Vậy Y-sác chúc phước cho.
24 Againe he sayd, Art thou that my sonne Esau? Who answered, Yea.
Người lại hỏi rằng: Ấy con thật là Ê-sau, con trai ta, phải chăng? Gia-cốp thưa: Phải, con đây.
25 Then said he, Bring it me hither, and I will eate of my sonnes venison, that my soule may blesse thee. And he brought it to him, and he ate: also he brought him wine, and he dranke.
Y-sác bèn nói: Hãy dọn cho cha ăn lấy thịt săn của con, đặng linh hồn cha chúc phước cho con. Gia-cốp dọn cho người ăn, cũng có đem rượu cho người uống nữa.
26 Afterward his father Izhak sayd vnto him, Come neere nowe, and kisse me, my sonne.
Rồi Y-sác cha người nói rằng: Hỡi con! hãy lại gần và hôn cha.
27 And hee came neere and kissed him. Then he smellled the sauour of his garmentes, and blessed him, and sayde, Behold, the smelll of my sonne is as the smelll of a fielde, which the Lord hath blessed.
Gia-cốp bèn lại gần và hôn người. Y-sác đánh mùi thơm của áo con, liền chúc phước cho, và nói rằng: Nầy, mùi hương của con ta Khác nào mùi hương của cánh đồng mà Ðức Giê-hô-va đã ban phước cho.
28 God giue thee therefore of the dewe of heauen, and the fatnesse of the earth, and plentie of wheate and wine.
Cầu xin Ðức Chúa Trời cho con sương móc trên trời xuống, Ðược màu mỡ của đất, và dư dật lúa mì cùng rượu.
29 Let people bee thy seruantes, and nations bowe vnto thee: be Lord ouer thy brethren, and let thy mothers children honour thee. cursed be he that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
Muôn dân phải phục con, Các nước phải quì lạy trước mặt con! Hãy được quyền chủ các anh em, Các con trai của mẹ con phải quì lạy trước mặt con! Ai rủa sả con sẽ bị rủa sả lại, Ai cầu phước cho con, sẽ được ban phước lại!
30 And when Izhak had made an ende of blessing Iaakob, and Iaakob was scarce gone out from the presence of Izhak his father, then came Esau his brother from his hunting,
Vừa khi Y-sác chúc phước cho Gia-cốp xuống, và vừa khi Gia-cốp lùi ra khỏi nơi cha mình, thì Ê-sau, anh người, đi săn trở về.
31 And hee also prepared sauourie meate and brought it to his father, and sayd vnto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his sonnes venison, that thy soule may blesse me.
Người cũng dọn một món ngon, dâng lên cho cha và thưa rằng: Xin dậy, ngồi ăn thịt săn của con trai cha, đặng linh hồn cha chúc phước cho con.
32 But his father Izhak sayde vnto him, Who art thou? And he answered, I am thy sonne, euen thy first borne Esau.
Y-sác, cha người, hỏi: Con là đứa nào? Thưa rằng: Tôi là Ê-sau, con trưởng nam của cha.
33 Then Izhak was stricken with a marueilous great feare, and sayde, Who and where is hee that hunted venison, and brought it mee, and I haue eate of all before thou camest? and I haue blessed him, therefore he shalbe blessed.
Y-sác lấy làm cảm động qua đỗi mà nói rằng: Vậy, còn đứa nào đã săn thịt rừng, và đã dâng lên cho cha đó? Trước khi con về, cha đã ăn hết rồi, và chúc phước cho nó; nó lại sẽ được ban phước vậy.
34 When Esau heard the wordes of his father, he cryed out with a great crye and bitter, out of measure, and sayde vnto his father, Blesse me, euen me also, my father.
Vừa nghe dứt lời cha, thì Ê-sau la lên một tiếng rất lớn, và rất thảm thiết mà thưa cùng cha rằng: Cha ơi! xin hãy chúc phước cho con luôn nữa!
35 Who answered, Thy brother came with subtiltie, and hath taken away thy blessing.
Nhưng Y-sác lại đáp: Em con đã dùng mưu kế đến cướp sự chúc phước của con rồi.
36 Then he sayde, Was hee not iustly called Iaakob? for hee hath deceiued mee these two times: he tooke my birthright, and loe, nowe hath he taken my blessing. Also he sayd, Hast thou not reserued a blessing for me?
Ê-sau liền nói rằng: Có phải vì người ta gọi nó là Gia-cốp mà đó hai lần chiếm lấy vị tôi rồi chăng? Nó đã chiếm quyền trưởng nam tôi, và lại bây giờ còn chiếm sự phước lành của tôi nữa. Tiếp rằng: Cha chẳng có dành sự chúc phước chi cho tôi sao?
37 Then Izhak answered, and sayd vnto Esau, Beholde, I haue made him thy lorde, and all his brethre haue I made his seruants: also with wheate and wine haue I furnished him, and vnto thee now what shall I doe, my sonne?
Y-sác đáp rằng: Nầy, cho đã lập nó lên làm chủ con, và đã cho các anh em làm tôi nó; và đã dự bị lúa mì và rượu cho nó. Vậy, cha sẽ làm chi cho con đây?
38 Then Esau sayde vnto his father, Hast thou but one blessing my father? blesse mee, euen me also, my father: and Esau lifted vp his voyce, and wept.
Ê-sau thưa rằng: Cha ơi! cha chỉ có sự chúc phước đó thôi sao? Hãy chúc phước cho con với, cha! Rồi Ê-sau cất tiếng lên khóc.
39 Then Izhak his father answered, and sayde vnto him, Behold, the fatnesse of the earth shall be thy dwelling place, and thou shalt haue of the dewe of heauen from aboue.
Y-sác cha người, đáp rằng: Nầy, nơi con ở sẽ thiếu màu mỡ của đất, Cùng sương-móc trên trời sa xuống.
40 And by thy sword shalt thou liue, and shalt be thy brothers seruant. But it shall come to passe, when thou shalt get the masterie, that thou shalt breake his yoke from thy necke.
Con sẽ nhờ gươm mới được sống. Và làm tôi tớ cho em con. Song khi con lưu lạc rày đó mai đây, Sẽ bẻ cái ách của em trên cổ con vậy.
41 Therefore Esau hated Iaakob, because of the blessing, wherewith his father blessed him. And Esau thought in his minde, The dayes of mourning for my father will come shortly, then I will slay may brother Iaakob.
Ê-sau trở lòng ghét Gia-cốp vì cớ cha mình chúc phước cho người, bèn nói thầm trong lòng rằng: Ngày tang của cha đã hầu gần; vậy, ta sẽ giết Gia-cốp, em ta, đi.
42 And it was told to Rebekah of the wordes of Esau her elder sonne, and shee sent and called Iaakob her yonger sonne, and sayd vnto him, Beholde, thy brother Esau is comforted against thee, meaning to kill thee:
Họ đem lời Ê-sau, con lớn, thuật lại cùng Rê-be-ca, thì người sai gọi Gia-cốp, con út mình, mà nói rằng: Nầy, Ê-sau, anh con, toan giết con để báo thù.
43 Now therefore my sonne, heare my voyce, arise, and flee thou to Haran to my brother Laban,
Vậy, bây giờ, hỡi con, hãy nghe lời mẹ, đứng dậy, chạy trốn qua nhà La-ban, cậu con, tại Cha-ran,
44 And tarie with him a while vntill thy brothers fiercenesse be swaged,
và hãy ở cùng người ít lâu, cho đến lúc nào cơn giận của anh con qua hết.
45 And till thy brothers wrath turne away from thee, and hee forget the thinges, which thou hast done to him: then will I sende and take thee from thence: why shoulde I bee depriued of you both in one day?
Khi cơn giận anh con bỏ qua rồi, và nó quên việc con đã gây nên với nó, thì mẹ sẽ biểu con về. Có lẽ đâu mẹ phải chịu mất cả hai đứa trong một ngày ư?
46 Also Rebekah said to Izhak, I am weary of my life, for the daughters of Heth. If Iaakob take a wife of the daughters of Heth like these of the daughters of the lande, what auaileth it me to liue?
Rê-be-ca nói cùng Y-sác rằng: Tôi đã chán, không muốn sống nữa, vì cớ mấy con gái họ Hếch. Nếu Gia-cốp cưới một trong mấy con gái họ Hếch mà làm vợ, tức một người con gái trong xứ như các dân đó; thôi, tôi còn sống mà chi?
