Genesis 25
1 Nowe Abraham had taken him another wife called Keturah,
௧ஆபிரகாம் கேத்தூராள் என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட ஒரு பெண்ணையும் திருமணம் செய்திருந்தான்.
2 Which bare him Zimran, and Iokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
௨அவள் அவனுக்குச் சிம்ரானையும், யக்க்ஷானையும், மேதானையும், மீதியானையும், இஸ்பாக்கையும், சூவாகையும் பெற்றெடுத்தாள்.
3 And Iokshan begate Sheba, and Dedan: And the sonnes of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
௩யக்க்ஷான் சேபாவையும், தேதானையும் பெற்றெடுத்தான்; தேதானுடைய மகன்கள் அசூரீம், லெத்தூசீம், லெயூமீம் என்பவர்கள்.
4 Also the sonnes of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah all these were the sonnes of Keturah.
௪மீதியானுடைய மகன்கள் ஏப்பா, ஏப்பேர், ஆனோக்கு, அபீதா, எல்தாகா என்பவர்கள்; இவர்கள் எல்லோரும் கேத்தூராளின் பிள்ளைகள்.
5 And Abraham gaue all his goods to Izhak,
௫ஆபிரகாம் தனக்கு உண்டான அனைத்தையும் ஈசாக்குக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.
6 But vnto the sonnes of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gaue giftes, and sent them away from Izhak his sonne (while he yet liued) Eastward to the East countrey.
௬ஆபிரகாமுக்கு இருந்த மறுமனையாட்டிகளின் பிள்ளைகளுக்கோ ஆபிரகாம் நன்கொடைகளைக் கொடுத்து, தான் உயிரோடிருக்கும்போதே அவர்களைத் தன் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கைவிட்டுக் கிழக்கே போகக் கீழ்த்தேசத்திற்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டான்.
7 And this is the age of Abrahams life, which he liued, an hundreth seuentie and fiue yeere.
௭ஆபிரகாம் உயிரோடிருந்த ஆயுசு நாட்கள் 175 வருடங்கள்.
8 Then Abraham yeelded the spirit, and died in a good age, an olde man, and of great yeeres, and was gathered to his people.
௮அதற்குப்பின்பு ஆபிரகாம் நல்ல நரைவயதிலும், முதிர்ந்த பூரண ஆயுசிலும் இறந்து, தன் இனத்தாருடன் சேர்க்கப்பட்டான்.
9 And his sonnes, Izhak and Ishmael buryed him in the caue of Machpelah, in the fielde of Ephron sonne of Zohar the Hittite, before Mamre.
௯அவனுடைய மகன்களாகிய ஈசாக்கும் இஸ்மவேலும் மம்ரேக்கு எதிரே ஏத்தியனான சோகாரின் மகனாகிய எப்பெரோனின் நிலத்திலுள்ள மக்பேலா எனப்பட்ட குகையிலே அவனை அடக்கம்செய்தார்கள்.
10 Which fielde Abraham bought of the Hittites, where Abraham was buryed with Sarah his wife.
௧0அந்த நிலத்தை ஏத்தின் மகன்களின் கையிலே ஆபிரகாம் வாங்கியிருந்தான்; அங்கே ஆபிரகாமும் அவனுடைய மனைவியாகிய சாராளும் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டார்கள்.
11 And after the death of Abraham God blessed Izhak his sonne, and Izhak dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi.
௧௧ஆபிரகாம் இறந்தபின்பு தேவன் அவனுடைய மகனாகிய ஈசாக்கை ஆசீர்வதித்தார். லகாய்ரோயீ என்னும் கிணற்றுக்குச் சமீபமாக ஈசாக்கு குடியிருந்தான்.
12 Nowe these are the generations of Ishmael Abrahams sonne, whome Hagar the Egyptian Sarahs handmayde bare vnto Abraham.
௧௨சாராளுடைய அடிமைப்பெண்ணாகிய எகிப்து தேசத்தாளான ஆகார் ஆபிரகாமுக்குப் பெற்ற மகனாகிய இஸ்மவேலின் வம்சவரலாறு:
13 And these are the names of the sonnes of Ishmael, name by name, according to their kinreds; the eldest sonne of Ishmael was Nebaioth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
௧௩பற்பல சந்ததிகளாகப் பிரிந்த இஸ்மவேலின் மகன்களுடைய பெயர்களாவன; இஸ்மவேலுடைய மூத்த மகன் நெபாயோத், பின்பு கேதார், அத்பியேல், மிப்சாம்,
14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
௧௪மிஷ்மா, தூமா, மாசா,
15 Hadar, and Tema, Ietur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
௧௫ஆதாத், தேமா, யெத்தூர், நாபீஸ், கேத்மா என்பவைகளே.
16 These are the sonnes of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their townes and by their castles: to wit, twelue princes of their nations.
௧௬தங்கள் கிராமங்களிலும் அரண்களிலும் குடியிருந்த தங்கள் மக்களுக்குப் பன்னிரண்டு பிரபுக்களாகிய இஸ்மவேலின் மகன்கள் இவர்களே, இவர்களுடைய பெயர்களும் இவைகளே.
17 (And these are the yeeres of the life of Ishmael, an hundreth thirtie and seuen yeere, and he yeelded the spirit, and dyed, and was gathered vnto his people)
௧௭இஸ்மவேலின் வயது 137. பின்பு அவன் இறந்து, தன் இனத்தாரோடு சேர்க்கப்பட்டான்.
18 And they dwelt from Hauilah vnto Shur, that is towardes Egypt, as thou goest to Asshur. Ishmael dwelt in the presence of all his brethren.
௧௮அவர்கள் ஆவிலா துவங்கி எகிப்திற்கு நேராக அசீரியாவுக்குப் போகிற வழியிலிருக்கும் சூர் வரைக்கும் குடியிருந்தார்கள். இது அவனுடைய சகோதரர்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் முன்பாக அவன் குடியேறின பூமி.
19 Likewise these are the generations of Izhak Abrahams sonne Abraham begate Izhak,
௧௯ஆபிரகாமின் மகனாகிய ஈசாக்குடைய வம்சவரலாறு; ஆபிரகாம் ஈசாக்கைப் பெற்றெடுத்தான்.
20 And Izhak was fourtie yeere olde, when he tooke Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramite of Padan Aram, and sister to Laban the Aramite.
௨0ஈசாக்கு ரெபெக்காளை திருமணம் செய்கிறபோது 40 வயதாயிருந்தான்; இவள் பதான் அராம் என்னும் சீரியா தேசத்தானாகிய பெத்துவேலுக்கு மகளும், சீரியா தேசத்தானாகிய லாபானுக்குச் சகோதரியுமானவள்.
21 And Izhak prayed vuto the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiued,
௨௧மலடியாயிருந்த தன் மனைவிக்காக ஈசாக்கு யெகோவாவை நோக்கி வேண்டுதல் செய்தான்; யெகோவா அவனுடைய வேண்டுதலைக் கேட்டருளினார்; அவனுடைய மனைவி ரெபெக்காள் கர்ப்பந்தரித்தாள்.
22 But the children stroue together within her: therefore shee sayde, Seeing it is so, why am I thus? wherefore she went to aske the Lord.
௨௨அவளது கர்ப்பத்தில் பிள்ளைகள் ஒன்றோடொன்று மோதிக்கொண்டிருந்தன; அப்பொழுது அவள்: “இப்படியிருந்தால் எனக்கு எப்படியாகுமோ” என்று சொல்லி, யெகோவாவிடத்தில் விசாரிக்கப் போனாள்.
23 And the Lord sayd to her, Two nations are in thy wombe, and two maner of people shalbe diuided out of thy bowels, and the one people shall be mightier then the other, and the elder shall serue the yonger.
௨௩அதற்குக் யெகோவா: “இரண்டு இனத்தார்கள் உன் கர்ப்பத்தில் உண்டாயிருக்கிறது; இரண்டுவித இனங்கள் உன் வயிற்றிலிருந்து பிரியும், அவர்களில் ஒரு இனத்தார் மற்ற இனத்தாரைவிட பலத்திருப்பார்கள், மூத்தவன் இளையவனுக்குப் பணிந்திருப்பான்” என்றார்.
24 Therefore when her time of deliuerance was fulfilled, behold, twinnes were in her wombe.
௨௪பிரசவநேரம் பூரணமானபோது, அவளது கர்ப்பத்தில் இரட்டைக் குழந்தைகள் இருந்தன.
25 So he that came out first was red, and he was all ouer as a rough garment, and they called his name Esau.
௨௫மூத்தவன் சிவந்த நிறமுள்ளவனாகவும் உடல்முழுவதும் ரோமத்தாலான அங்கியைப் போர்த்தவன் போலவும் பிறந்தான்; அவனுக்கு ஏசா என்று பெயரிட்டார்கள்.
26 And afterward came his brother out, and his hande helde Esau by the heele: therefore his name was called Iaakob. Nowe Izhak was threescore yeere olde when Rebekah bare them.
௨௬பின்பு, அவனுடைய சகோதரன் தன் கையினாலே ஏசாவின் குதிகாலைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு பிறந்தான்; அவனுக்கு யாக்கோபு என்று பெயரிட்டார்கள்; இவர்களை அவள் பெற்றபோது ஈசாக்கு 60 வயதாயிருந்தான்.
27 And the boyes grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, and liued in the fields: but Iaakob was a plaine man, and dwelt in tentes.
௨௭இந்தக் குழந்தைகள் பெரியவர்களானபோது, ஏசா வேட்டையில் வல்லவனும், காட்டில் வாழ்கிறவனாகவும் இருந்தான்; யாக்கோபு குணசாலியும் கூடாரவாசியுமாக இருந்தான்.
28 And Izhak loued Esau, for venison was his meate, but Rebekah loued Iaakob.
௨௮ஏசா வேட்டையாடிக் கொண்டுவருகிறது ஈசாக்கினுடைய வாய்க்கு ருசிகரமாயிருந்ததினாலே ஏசாவின்மேல் பற்றுதலாக இருந்தான்; ரெபெக்காளோ யாக்கோபின்மேல் அன்பாயிருந்தாள்.
29 Nowe Iaakob sod pottage, and Esau came from the fielde and was wearie.
௨௯ஒருநாள் ஏசா வெளியிலிருந்து களைத்து வந்தபோது, யாக்கோபு கூழ் சமைத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
30 Then Esau sayd to Iaakob, Let me eate, I pray thee, of that pottage so red, for I am wearie. Therefore was his name called Edom.
௩0அப்பொழுது ஏசா யாக்கோபை நோக்கி: “அந்தச் சிவப்பான கூழிலே நான் சாப்பிடக் கொஞ்சம் தா, களைத்திருக்கிறேன்” என்றான்; இதனாலே அவனுக்கு ஏதோம் என்கிற பெயர் உண்டானது.
31 And Iaakob sayd, Sell me euen nowe thy birthright.
௩௧அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு: உன் பிறப்புரிமையை இன்று எனக்கு விற்றுப்போடு” என்றான்.
32 And Esau sayd, Lo, I am almost dead, what is then this birthright to me?
௩௨அதற்கு ஏசா: “இதோ, நான் சாகப்போகிறேனே, இந்தப் பிறப்புரிமை எனக்கு எதற்கு” என்றான்.
33 Iaakob then said, Sweare to me euen now. And he sware to him, and solde his birthright vnto Iaakob.
௩௩அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு: “இன்று எனக்கு ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடு” என்றான்; அவன் யாக்கோபுக்கு ஆணையிட்டு, தன் பிறப்புரிமையை அவனுக்கு விற்றுப்போட்டான்.
34 Then Iaakob gaue Esau bread and pottage of lentiles: and he did eate and drinke, and rose vp, and went his way: So Esau contemned his birthright.
௩௪அப்பொழுது யாக்கோபு ஏசாவுக்கு அப்பத்தையும் பயிற்றங்கூழையும் கொடுத்தான்; அவன் சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து எழுந்து போய்விட்டான். இப்படி ஏசா தன் பிறப்புரிமையை அலட்சியம் செய்தான்.
