Genesis 21
1 Nowe the Lord visited Sarah, as he had saide, and did vnto her according as he had promised.
E o SENHOR visitou Sara, como disse, e o SENHOR fez com Sara como havia falado.
2 For Sarah conceiued, and bare Abraham a sonne in his olde age, at the same season that God tolde him.
E concebeu e deu à luz Sara a Abraão um filho em sua velhice, no tempo que Deus lhe havia dito.
3 And Abraham called his sonnes name that was borne vnto him, which Sarah bare him, Izhak.
E chamou Abraão o nome de seu filho que lhe nasceu, que lhe deu à luz Sara, Isaque.
4 Then Abraham circumcised Izhak his sonne, when he was eight dayes olde, as God had commanded him.
E circuncidou Abraão a seu filho Isaque de oito dias, como Deus lhe havia mandado.
5 So Abraham was an hundreth yeere olde, when his sonne Izhak was borne vnto him.
E era Abraão de cem anos, quando lhe nasceu Isaque seu filho.
6 Then Sarah said, God hath made me to reioyce: all that heare will reioyce with me.
Então disse Sara: Deus me fez rir, e qualquer um que o ouvir, se rirá comigo.
7 Againe she said, Who would haue saide to Abraham, that Sarah shoulde haue giuen children sucke? for I haue borne him a sonne in his olde age.
E acrescentou: Quem diria a Abraão que Sara havia de dar de mamar a filhos? pois que lhe dei um filho em sua velhice.
8 Then the childe grewe and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Izhak was weaned.
E cresceu o menino, e foi desmamado; e fez Abraão grande banquete no dia que foi desmamado Isaque.
9 And Sarah sawe the sonne of Hagar the Egyptian (which she had borne vnto Abraham) mocking.
E viu Sara ao filho de Agar a egípcia, o qual havia esta dado a Abraão, que o ridicularizava.
10 Wherefore she saide vnto Abraham, Cast out this bond woman and her sonne: for ye sonne of this bonde woman shall not be heire with my sonne Izhak.
Portanto disse a Abraão: Expulsa a esta serva e a seu filho; que o filho desta serva não herdará com meu filho, com Isaque.
11 And this thing was very grieuous in Abrahams sight, because of his sonne.
Este dito pareceu grave em grande maneira a Abraão por causa de seu filho.
12 But God said vnto Abraham, Let it not be grieuous in thy sight for the childe, and for thy bonde woman: in all that Sarah shall say vnto thee, heare her voyce: for in Izhak shall thy seede be called.
Então disse Deus a Abraão: Não te pareça grave por causa do jovem e de tua serva; em tudo o que te disser Sara, ouve sua voz, porque em Isaque será chamada tua descendência.
13 As for the sonne of the bond woman, I will make him a nation also, because he is thy seede.
E também do filho da serva farei nação, porque é descendência tua.
14 So Abraham arose vp early in ye morning, and tooke bread, and a bottell of water, and gaue it vnto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the childe also, and sent her away: who departing wandred in the wildernesse of Beer-sheba.
Então Abraão se levantou manhã muito cedo, e tomou pão, e um odre de água, e deu-o a Agar, pondo-o sobre seu ombro, e entregou-lhe o jovem, e despediu-a. E ela partiu, e andava errante pelo deserto de Berseba.
15 And when the water of the bottell was spent, she cast the childe vnder a certaine tree.
E faltou a água do odre, e deitou ao jovem debaixo de uma árvore;
16 Then she went and sate her ouer against him a farre off about a bowe shoote: for she said, I will not see the death of the child. and she sate downe ouer against him, and lift vp her voyce and wept.
E foi-se e sentou-se em frente, afastando-se como um tiro de arco; porque dizia: Não verei quando o jovem morrer: e sentou-se em frente, e levantou sua voz e chorou.
17 Then God heard the voyce of ye childe, and the Angel of God called to Hagar from heauen, and said vnto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? feare not, for God hath heard the voyce of the childe where he is.
E ouviu Deus a voz do jovem; e o anjo de Deus chamou a Agar desde o céu, e lhe disse: Que tens, Agar? Não temas; porque Deus ouviu a voz do jovem onde está.
18 Arise, take vp the childe, and holde him in thine hand: for I will make of him a great people.
Levanta-te, ergue ao jovem, e pegue-o por tua mão, porque farei dele uma grande nação.
19 And God opened her eyes, and she sawe a well of water. so she went and filled the bottell with water, and gaue the boy drinke.
Então abriu Deus os olhos dela, e ela viu uma fonte de água; e foi, e encheu o odre de água, e deu de beber ao jovem.
20 So God was with the childe, and he grewe and dwelt in the wildernesse, and was an archer.
E foi Deus com o jovem; e cresceu, e habitou no deserto, e foi atirador de arco.
21 And he dwelt in the wildernesse of Paran, and his mother tooke him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
E habitou no deserto de Parã; e sua mãe lhe tomou mulher da terra do Egito.
22 And at that same time Abimelech and Phichol his chief captaine spake vnto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest.
E aconteceu naquele mesmo tempo que falou Abimeleque, e Ficol, príncipe de seu exército, a Abraão dizendo: Deus é contigo em tudo quanto fazes.
23 Nowe therefore sweare vnto me here by God, that thou wilt not hurt me, nor my children, nor my childrens children: thou shalt deale with me, and with the countrey, where thou hast bene a stranger, according vnto the kindnesse that I haue shewed thee.
Agora, pois, jura-me aqui por Deus, que não tratarás com falsidade a mim, nem a meu filho, nem a meu neto; mas sim que conforme a bondade que eu fiz contigo, farás tu comigo e com a terra onde peregrinaste.
24 Then Abraham said, I will sweare.
E respondeu Abraão: Eu jurarei.
25 And Abraham rebuked Abimelech for a well of water, which Abimelechs seruants had violently taken away.
E Abraão reclamou com Abimeleque por causa de um poço de água, que os servos de Abimeleque lhe haviam tirado.
26 And Abimelech saide, I knowe not who hath done this thing: also thou toldest me not, neither heard I of it but this day.
E respondeu Abimeleque: Não sei quem tenha feito isto, nem tampouco tu me fizeste saber, nem eu o ouvi até hoje.
27 Then Abraham tooke sheepe and beeues, and gaue them vnto Abimelech: and they two made a couenant.
E tomou Abraão ovelhas e vacas, e deu a Abimeleque; e fizeram ambos aliança.
28 And Abraham set seuen lambes of the flocke by themselues.
E pôs Abraão sete cordeiras do rebanho à parte.
29 Then Abimelech said vnto Abraham, What meane these seuen lambes, which thou hast set by themselues?
E disse Abimeleque a Abraão: Que significam essas sete cordeiras que puseste à parte?
30 And he answered, Because thou shalt receiue of mine hand these seuen lambes, that it may be a witnes vnto me, that I haue digged this well.
E ele respondeu: Que estas sete cordeiras tomarás de minha mão, para que me sejam em testemunho de que eu cavei este poço.
31 Wherefore the place is called Beer-sheba, because there they both sware.
Por isto chamou a aquele lugar Berseba; porque ali ambos juraram.
32 Thus made they a couenant at Beer-sheba: afterward Abimelech and Phichol his chiefe captaine rose vp, and turned againe vnto the land of the Philistims.
Assim fizeram aliança em Berseba: e levantaram-se Abimeleque e Ficol, príncipe de seu exército, e se voltaram à terra dos filisteus.
33 And Abraham planted a groue in Beer-sheba, and called there on the Name of ye Lord, the euerlasting God.
E plantou Abraão um bosque em Berseba, e invocou ali o nome do SENHOR Deus eterno.
34 And Abraham was a stranger in the Philistims land a long season.
E morou Abraão na terra dos filisteus por muitos dias.
