Genesis 2
1 Thus the heauens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Και συνετελέσθησαν ο ουρανός και η γη και πάσα η στρατιά αυτών.
2 For in the seuenth day GOD ended his worke which he had made, and the seuenth day he rested from al his worke, which he had made.
Και είχε συντετελεσμένα ο Θεός εν τη ημέρα τη εβδόμη τα έργα αυτού, τα οποία έκαμε· και ανεπαύθη την ημέραν την εβδόμην από πάντων των έργων αυτού, τα οποία έκαμε.
3 So God blessed the seuenth day, and sanctified it, because that in it he had rested from all his worke, which God had created and made.
Και ευλόγησεν ο Θεός την ημέραν την εβδόμην και ηγίασεν αυτήν· διότι εν αυτή ανεπαύθη από πάντων των έργων αυτού, τα οποία έκτισε και έκαμεν ο Θεός.
4 These are the generations of the heauens and of the earth, when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heauens,
Αύτη είναι η γένεσις του ουρανού και της γης, ότε εκτίσθησαν αυτά, καθ' ην ημέραν εποίησε Κύριος ο Θεός γην και ουρανόν,
5 And euery plant of the fielde, before it was in the earth, and euery herbe of the field, before it grewe: for the Lord God had not caused it to raine vpon the earth, neither was there a man to till the ground,
και πάντα τα φυτά του αγρού, πριν γείνωσιν επί της γης, και πάντα χόρτον του αγρού, πριν βλαστήση· διότι δεν είχε βρέξει Κύριος ο Θεός επί της γης, και άνθρωπος δεν ήτο διά να εργάζηται την γήν·
6 But a myst went vp from the earth, and watered all the earth.
ο ατμός δε ανέβαινεν από της γης και επότιζε παν το πρόσωπον της γης.
7 The Lord God also made the man of the dust of the grounde, and breathed in his face breath of life, and the man was a liuing soule.
Και έπλασε Κύριος ο Θεός τον άνθρωπον από χώματος εκ της γης. και ενεφύσησεν εις τους μυκτήρας αυτού πνοήν ζωής, και έγεινεν ο άνθρωπος εις ψυχήν ζώσαν.
8 And the Lord God planted a garden Eastward in Eden, and there he put the man whom he had made.
Και εφύτευσε Κύριος ο Θεός παράδεισον εν τη Εδέμ κατά ανατολάς και έθεσεν εκεί τον άνθρωπον, τον οποίον έπλασε.
9 (For out of the ground made the Lord God to grow euery tree pleasant to the sight, and good for meate: the tree of life also in the mids of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and of euill.
Και Κύριος ο Θεός έκαμε να βλαστήση εκ της γης παν δένδρον ώραίον εις την όρασιν και καλόν εις την γεύσιν· και το ξύλον της ζωής εν μέσω του παραδείσου και το ξύλον της γνώσεως του καλού και του κακού.
10 And out of Eden went a riuer to water the garden, and from thence it was deuided, and became into foure heads.
Ποταμός δε εξήρχετο εκ της Εδέμ διά να ποτίζη τον παράδεισον· και εκείθεν εμερίζετο εις τέσσαρας κλάδους.
11 The name of one is Pishon: the same compasseth the whole land of Hauilah, where is golde.
Το όνομα του ενός, Φισών· ούτος είναι ο περικυκλόνων πάσαν την γην Αβιλά· όπου ευρίσκεται το χρυσίον·
12 And the golde of that land is good: there is Bdelium, and the Onix stone.
το δε χρυσίον της γης εκείνης είναι καλόν· εκεί είναι το βδέλλιον και ο λίθος ο ονυχίτης.
13 And the name of the seconde riuer is Gihon: the same compasseth the whole lande of Cush.
Και το όνομα του ποταμού του δευτέρου, Γιών· ούτος είναι ο περικυκλόνων πάσαν την γην Χούς.
14 The name also of the third riuer is Hiddekel: this goeth toward the Eastside of Asshur: and the fourth riuer is Perath)
Και το όνομα του ποταμού του τρίτου, Τίγρις· ούτος είναι ο ρέων προς ανατολάς της Ασσυρίας. Ο δε ποταμός ο τέταρτος, ούτος είναι ο Ευφράτης.
15 Then the Lord God tooke the man, and put him into the garden of Eden, that he might dresse it and keepe it.
Και έλαβε Κύριος ο Θεός τον άνθρωπον και έθεσεν αυτόν εν τω παραδείσω της Εδέμ διά να εργάζηται αυτόν και να φυλάττη αυτόν.
16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Thou shalt eate freely of euery tree of the garden,
Προσέταξε δε Κύριος ο Θεός εις τον Αδάμ λέγων, Από παντός δένδρου του παραδείσου ελευθέρως θέλεις τρώγει,
17 But of the tree of knowledge of good and euill, thou shalt not eate of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt die the death.
από δε του ξύλου της γνώσεως του καλού και του κακού δεν θέλεις φάγει απ' αυτού· διότι καθ' ην ημέραν φάγης απ' αυτού, θέλεις εξάπαντος αποθάνει.
18 Also the Lord God saide, It is not good that the man should be himself alone: I wil make him an helpe meete for him.
Και είπε Κύριος ο Θεός, Δεν είναι καλόν να ήναι ο άνθρωπος μόνος· θέλω κάμει εις αυτόν βοηθόν όμοιον με αυτόν.
19 So the Lord God formed of the earth euery beast of the fielde, and euery foule of the heauen, and brought them vnto the man to see howe he would call them: for howsoeuer the man named the liuing creature, so was the name thereof.
Έπλασε δε Κύριος ο Θεός εκ της γης πάντα τα ζώα του αγρού και πάντα τα πετεινά του ουρανού, και έφερεν αυτά προς τον Αδάμ, διά να ίδη πως να ονομάση αυτά· και ό, τι όνομα ήθελε δώσει ο Αδάμ εις παν έμψυχον, τούτο να ήναι το όνομα αυτού.
20 The man therefore gaue names vnto all cattell, and to the foule of the heauen, and to euery beast of the fielde: but for Adam founde he not an helpe meete for him.
Και έδωκεν ο Αδάμ ονόματα εις πάντα τα κτήνη και εις τα πτηνά του ουρανού και εις πάντα τα ζώα του αγρού· εις δε τον Αδάμ δεν ευρίσκετο βοηθός όμοιος με αυτόν.
21 Therefore the Lord God caused an heauie sleepe to fall vpon the man, and he slept: and he tooke one of his ribbes, and closed vp the flesh in steade thereof.
Και επέβαλε Κύριος ο Θεός έκστασιν επί τον Αδάμ, και εκοιμήθη· και έλαβε μίαν εκ των πλευρών αυτού και έκλεισε με σάρκα τον τόπον αυτής.
22 And the ribbe which the Lord God had taken from the man, made he a woman, and brought her to the man.
Και κατεσκεύασε Κύριος ο Θεός την πλευράν, την οποίαν έλαβεν από του Αδάμ, εις γυναίκα και έφερεν αυτήν προς τον Αδάμ.
23 Then the man said, This now is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She shalbe called woman, because she was taken out of man.
Και είπεν ο Αδάμ, Τούτο είναι τώρα οστούν εκ των οστέων μου και σαρξ εκ της σαρκός μου· αύτη θέλει ονομασθή ανδρίς, διότι εκ του ανδρός αύτη ελήφθη.
24 Therefore shall man leaue his father and his mother, and shall cleaue to his wife, and they shall be one flesh.
Διά τούτο θέλει αφήσει ο άνθρωπος τον πατέρα αυτού και την μητέρα αυτού, και θέλει προσκολληθή εις την γυναίκα αυτού· και θέλουσιν είσθαι οι δύο εις σάρκα μίαν.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
Ήσαν δε και οι δύο γυμνοί, ο Αδάμ και η γυνή αυτού, και δεν ησχύνοντο.
