Genesis 19
1 And in the euening there came two Angels to Sodom: and Lot sate at the gate of Sodom, and Lot sawe them, and rose vp to meete them, and he bowed himselfe with his face to the ground.
Y al caer la noche, los dos ángeles llegaron a Sodoma; y Lot estaba sentado en el camino a la ciudad; y cuando los vio, se levantó y vino delante de ellos, cayendo de bruces sobre la tierra.
2 And he saide, See my Lords, I pray you turne in nowe into your seruants house, and tarie all night, and wash your feete, and ye shall rise vp early and goe your wayes. Who saide, Nay, but we will abide in the streete all night.
Y él dijo: Mis amos, ven ahora a la casa de tu siervo, y descansen allí pasen la noche, y laven sus pies; y temprano en la mañana pueden continuar su camino. Y dijeron: No es así, pero tomaremos el resto de nuestra noche en la calle.
3 Then he preassed vpon them earnestly, and they turned in to him, and came to his house, and he made them a feast, and did bake vnleauened bread, and they did eate.
Pero él hizo su petición con mayor fuerza, por lo que fueron con él a su casa; y les preparó comida, e hizo pan sin levadura, del cual tomaron.
4 But before they went to bed, the men of the citie, euen the men of Sodom compassed the house rounde about from the yong euen to the olde, all the people from all quarters.
Pero antes de acostarse, los hombres de la ciudad, todos los hombres de Sodoma, recorrieron la casa, jóvenes y viejos, de todas partes de la ciudad;
5 Who crying vnto Lot said to him, Where are the men, which came to thee this night? bring them out vnto vs that we may knowe them.
Y clamando a Lot, dijeron: ¿Dónde están los hombres que vinieron a tu casa esta noche? Envíanoslos a nosotros, para que podamos tener nuestro placer con ellos.
6 Then Lot went out at the doore vnto them, and shut the doore after him,
Y salió Lot a ellos en el portal, cerrando la puerta tras él.
7 And said, I pray you, my brethren, do not so wickedly.
Y dijo: Hermanos míos, no hagan está maldad.
8 Beholde nowe, I haue two daughters, which haue not knowen man: them will I bring out now vnto you, and doe to them as seemeth you good: onely vnto these men doe nothing: for therefore are they come vnder the shadowe of my roofe.
Vean ahora, tengo dos hijas solteras; las enviaré a ti para que les hagan lo que les parezca mejor: no hagas nada a estos hombres, porque es por eso que han caído bajo la sombra de mi techo.
9 Then they said, Away hence, and they said, He is come alone as a stranger, and shall he iudge and rule? we will nowe deale worse with thee then with them. So they preassed sore vpon Lot himselfe, and came to breake the doore.
Y dijeron: Hazte a un lado! Este hombre, dijeron, vino aquí de un país extraño, ¿y ahora será nuestro juez? ahora te haremos peor que a ellos; y empujando violentamente a Lot, se acercaron para abrir la puerta.
10 But the men put forth their hand and pulled Lot into the house to them and shut to ye doore.
Pero los hombres extendieron sus manos y llevaron a Lot dentro de la casa, cerrando de nuevo la puerta.
11 Then they smote the men that were at the doore of the house with blindnes both small and great, so that they were wearie in seeking the doore.
Pero los hombres que estaban afuera de la puerta se quedaron ciegos, todos ellos, pequeños y grandes, y se cansaron de buscar la puerta.
12 Then the men said vnto Lot, Whom hast thou yet here? either sonne in lawe, or thy sonnes, or thy daughters, or whatsoeuer thou hast in the citie, bring it out of this place.
Entonces los hombres dijeron a Lot: ¿Hay otros de tu familia aquí? yernos o hijos o hijas, sacarlos a todos de este lugar;
13 For we will destroy this place, because the crye of them is great before the Lord, and the Lord hath sent vs to destroy it.
Porque estamos a punto de enviar destrucción a este lugar, porque una gran protesta contra ellos ha llegado a los oídos del Señor; y el Señor nos ha enviado a poner fin a la ciudad.
14 Then Lot went out and spake vnto his sonnes in lawe, which maried his daughters, and said, Arise, get you out of this place: for the Lord will destroy the citie: but he seemed to his sonnes in lawe as though he had mocked.
Y salió Lot, y dijo a sus yernos, que estaban casados con sus hijas: Vengan, salgamos de este lugar, porque el Señor está a punto de enviar destrucción sobre la ciudad. Pero sus yernos no lo tomaron en serio.
15 And when the morning arose, the Angels hasted Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife and thy two daughters which are here, lest thou be destroyed in the punishment of the citie.
Y cuando amaneció, los ángeles hicieron todo lo que pudieron para hacer ir a Lot, diciendo: Levántate pronto, toma a tu mujer y a tus dos hijas que están aquí, y vete, por temor a que vengas a la destrucción en el castigo de la ciudad.
16 And as he prolonged the time, the men caught both him and his wife, and his two daughters by the hands (the Lord being mercifull vnto him) and they brought him foorth, and set him without the citie.
Mientras esperaba, los hombres tomaron de la mano a él, a su mujer y a sus hijas, porque el Señor tuvo misericordia de ellos y los puso fuera de la ciudad.
17 And when they had brought them out, the Angel said, Escape for thy life: looke not behinde thee, neither tarie thou in all the plaine: escape into ye mountaine, least thou be destroyed.
Y cuando los pusieron, él dijo: Huyan por su vida, sin mirar atrás ni esperar en la tierra baja; ve rápidamente a la montaña o llegarás a la destrucción.
18 And Lot saide vnto them, Not so, I pray thee, my Lord.
Y Lot les dijo: No es así, oh mi Señor;
19 Behold now, thy seruant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercie, which thou hast shewed vnto me in sauing my life: and I cannot escape in the mountaine, least some euill take me, and I die.
Ahora, tu siervo ha tenido la gracia en tus ojos y grande es tu misericordia para mantener mi vida lejos de la destrucción, pero no puedo llegar a la montaña antes de que el mal me alcance y la muerte;
20 See nowe this citie hereby to flee vnto, which is a litle one: Oh let me escape thither: is it not a litle one, and my soule shall liue?
Esta ciudad, ahora, está cerca, y es una pequeña: O, déjame ir allí (¿no es una pequeña?) para que mi vida esté a salvo.
21 Then he said vnto him, Beholde, I haue receiued thy request also concerning this thing, that I will not ouerthrow this citie, for the which thou hast spoken.
Y él dijo: Mira, te he dado tu petición en esto una cosa más: no enviaré destrucción sobre esta ciudad.
22 Haste thee, saue thee there: for I can doe nothing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the citie was called Zoar.
Ve allí rápidamente, porque no puedo hacer nada hasta que hayas llegado ahí. Por esta razón, la ciudad fue nombrada Zoar.
23 The sunne did rise vpon the earth, when Lot entred into Zoar.
El sol salió cuando Lot llegó a Zoar.
24 Then the Lord rained vpon Sodom and vpon Gomorah brimstone, and fire from the Lord out of heauen,
Entonces él Señor envió fuego y humo ardiente desde los cielos sobre Sodoma y Gomorra.
25 And ouerthrewe those cities and all the plaine, and all the inhabitants of the cities; and that that grewe vpon the earth.
Y envió destrucción sobre aquellas ciudades, con toda la tierra baja y toda la gente de esas ciudades y todas las cosas verdes en la tierra.
26 Now his wife behind him looked backe, and she became a pillar of salt.
Pero la esposa de Lot, mirando hacia atrás, se convirtió en una columna de sal.
27 And Abraham rising vp earely in ye morning went to the place, where he had stand before the Lord,
Y Abraham se levantó temprano en la mañana y fue al lugar donde había estado hablando con el Señor:
28 And looking towarde Sodom and Gomorah and toward all the land of the plaine, behold, he sawe the smoke of the lande mounting vp as the smoke of a fornace.
Y mirando en dirección a Sodoma y Gomorra y la tierra baja, vio el humo de la tierra subir como el humo de un horno.
29 But yet when God destroyed the cities of the plaine, God thought vpon Abraham, and sent Lot out from the middes of the destruction, when he ouerthrewe the cities, wherein Lot dwelled.
Y aconteció que cuando Dios envió destrucción sobre las ciudades de la llanura, cumplió su palabra a Abraham, y envió lejos a Lot cuando puso fin a las ciudades donde vivía.
30 Then Lot went vp from Zoar, and dwelt in the mountaine with his two daughters: for he feared to tarie in Zoar, but dwelt in a caue, he, and his two daughters.
Entonces Lot subió de Zoar al monte, y vivía allí con sus dos hijas, por temor a que no viviera en Zoar; y él y sus hijas se ganaron la vida en una cueva de la peña.
31 And the elder saide vnto the yonger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth, to come in vnto vs after the maner of all ye earth.
Y la hija mayor dijo a su hermana: Nuestro padre es viejo, y no hay hombre que sea nuestro esposo en la forma natural:
32 Come, wee will make our father drinke wine, and lie with him, that we may preserue seede of our father.
Ven, démosle mucho vino a nuestro padre, y nos iremos a su cama, para que tengamos descendencia de nuestro padre,
33 So they made their father drinke wine that night, and the elder went and lay with her father: but he perceiued not, neither whe she lay downe, neither when she rose vp.
Y esa noche hicieron que su padre bebiera mucho vino; y la hija mayor se metió en su cama; y él no sabía cuándo ella entró o cuándo se fue.
34 And on the morowe the elder saide to the yonger, Behold, yester night lay I with my father: let vs make him drinke wine this night also, and goe thou and lie with him, that we may preserue seede of our father.
Y el día después, la hija mayor dijo a la menor: Anoche estaba con mi padre; hagamos que tome mucho vino esta noche otra vez, y ve a él, para que podamos tener descendencia de nuestro padre.
35 So they made their father drinke wine that night also, and the yonger arose, and lay with him, but he perceiued not, when she lay downe, neither when she rose vp.
Y esa noche otra vez hicieron que su padre tomara mucho vino; y la hija menor se metió en su cama; y él no sabía cuándo ella entró o cuándo se fue.
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with childe by their father.
Y así las dos hijas de Lot fueron embarazadas por su padre.
37 And the elder bare a sonne, and she called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites vnto this day.
Y la hija mayor tuvo un hijo, y le dio el nombre de Moab: es el padre de los moabitas hasta hoy.
38 And the yonger bare a sonne also, and she called his name Ben-ammi: the same is the father of the Ammonites vnto this day.
Y el menor tuvo un hijo, y le dio el nombre de Ben-ammi; de él vienen los hijos de Ammón hasta hoy.
