Genesis 19
1 And in the euening there came two Angels to Sodom: and Lot sate at the gate of Sodom, and Lot sawe them, and rose vp to meete them, and he bowed himselfe with his face to the ground.
Chegaram, pois, os dois anjos a Sodoma ao cair da tarde; e Ló estava sentado à porta de Sodoma. E vendo-os Ló, levantou-se a recebê-los, e inclinou-se até o chão;
2 And he saide, See my Lords, I pray you turne in nowe into your seruants house, and tarie all night, and wash your feete, and ye shall rise vp early and goe your wayes. Who saide, Nay, but we will abide in the streete all night.
E disse: Agora, pois, meus senhores, vos rogo que venhais à casa de vosso servo e vos hospedeis, e lavareis vossos pés: e pela manhã vos levantareis, e seguireis vosso caminho. E eles responderam: Não, que na praça nos ficaremos esta noite.
3 Then he preassed vpon them earnestly, and they turned in to him, and came to his house, and he made them a feast, and did bake vnleauened bread, and they did eate.
Mas ele insistiu com eles muito, e se vieram com ele, e entraram em sua casa; e fez-lhes banquete, e cozeu pães sem levedura e comeram.
4 But before they went to bed, the men of the citie, euen the men of Sodom compassed the house rounde about from the yong euen to the olde, all the people from all quarters.
E antes que se deitassem, cercaram a casa os homens da cidade, os homens de Sodoma, todo o povo junto, desde o mais jovem até o mais velho;
5 Who crying vnto Lot said to him, Where are the men, which came to thee this night? bring them out vnto vs that we may knowe them.
E chamaram a Ló, e lhe disseram: Onde estão os homens que vieram a ti esta noite? tira-os a nós, para que os conheçamos.
6 Then Lot went out at the doore vnto them, and shut the doore after him,
Então Ló saiu a eles à porta, e fechou as portas atrás de si,
7 And said, I pray you, my brethren, do not so wickedly.
E disse: Eu vos rogo, meus irmãos, que não façais tal maldade.
8 Beholde nowe, I haue two daughters, which haue not knowen man: them will I bring out now vnto you, and doe to them as seemeth you good: onely vnto these men doe nothing: for therefore are they come vnder the shadowe of my roofe.
Eis aqui agora eu tenho duas filhas que não conheceram homem; eu as tirarei fora para vós, e fazei delas como bem vos parecer: somente a estes homens não façais nada, pois que vieram à sombra de meu telhado.
9 Then they said, Away hence, and they said, He is come alone as a stranger, and shall he iudge and rule? we will nowe deale worse with thee then with them. So they preassed sore vpon Lot himselfe, and came to breake the doore.
E eles responderam: Sai daí: e acrescentaram: Veio este aqui para habitar como um estrangeiro, e haverá de levantar-se como juiz? Agora te faremos mais mal que a eles. E faziam grande violência ao homem, a Ló, e se aproximaram para romper as portas.
10 But the men put forth their hand and pulled Lot into the house to them and shut to ye doore.
Então os homens estenderam a mão, e meteram a Ló em casa com eles, e fecharam as portas.
11 Then they smote the men that were at the doore of the house with blindnes both small and great, so that they were wearie in seeking the doore.
E aos homens que estavam à porta da casa desde o menor até o maior, feriram com cegueira; mas eles se cansavam tentando achar a porta.
12 Then the men said vnto Lot, Whom hast thou yet here? either sonne in lawe, or thy sonnes, or thy daughters, or whatsoeuer thou hast in the citie, bring it out of this place.
E disseram os homens a Ló: Tens aqui alguém mais? Genros, e teus filhos e tuas filhas, e tudo o que tens na cidade, tira-o deste lugar:
13 For we will destroy this place, because the crye of them is great before the Lord, and the Lord hath sent vs to destroy it.
Porque vamos destruir este lugar, porquanto o clamor deles subiu demais diante do SENHOR; portanto o SENHOR nos enviou para destruí-lo.
14 Then Lot went out and spake vnto his sonnes in lawe, which maried his daughters, and said, Arise, get you out of this place: for the Lord will destroy the citie: but he seemed to his sonnes in lawe as though he had mocked.
Então saiu Ló, e falou a seus genros, os que haviam de se casar com suas filhas, e lhes disse: Levantai-vos, saí deste lugar; porque o SENHOR vai destruir esta cidade. Mas pareceu a seus genros como que se ridicularizava.
15 And when the morning arose, the Angels hasted Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife and thy two daughters which are here, lest thou be destroyed in the punishment of the citie.
E ao raiar a alva, os anjos davam pressa a Ló, dizendo: Levanta-te, toma tua mulher, e teus dois filhas que se acham aqui, para que não pereças no castigo da cidade.
16 And as he prolonged the time, the men caught both him and his wife, and his two daughters by the hands (the Lord being mercifull vnto him) and they brought him foorth, and set him without the citie.
E demorando-se ele, os homens pegaram por sua mão, e pela mão de sua mulher, e pelas mãos de suas duas filhas segundo a misericórdia do SENHOR para com ele; e o tiraram, e o puseram fora da cidade.
17 And when they had brought them out, the Angel said, Escape for thy life: looke not behinde thee, neither tarie thou in all the plaine: escape into ye mountaine, least thou be destroyed.
E foi que quando os tirou fora, disse: Escapa por tua vida; não olhes atrás de ti, nem pares toda esta planície; escapa ao monte, não seja que pereças.
18 And Lot saide vnto them, Not so, I pray thee, my Lord.
E Ló lhes disse: Não, eu vos rogo, senhores meus;
19 Behold now, thy seruant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercie, which thou hast shewed vnto me in sauing my life: and I cannot escape in the mountaine, least some euill take me, and I die.
Eis que agora achou teu servo favor em teus olhos, e engrandeceste tua misericórdia que fizeste comigo dando-me a vida; mas eu não poderei escapar ao monte, não seja caso que me alcance o mal e morra.
20 See nowe this citie hereby to flee vnto, which is a litle one: Oh let me escape thither: is it not a litle one, and my soule shall liue?
Eis que agora esta cidade está próxima para fugir ali, a qual é pequena; escaparei agora ali, (não é ela pequena?) e viverá minha alma.
21 Then he said vnto him, Beholde, I haue receiued thy request also concerning this thing, that I will not ouerthrow this citie, for the which thou hast spoken.
E lhe respondeu: Eis que recebi também tua súplica sobre isto, e não destruirei a cidade de que falaste.
22 Haste thee, saue thee there: for I can doe nothing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the citie was called Zoar.
Apressa-te, escapa-te ali; porque nada poderei fazer até que ali tenhas chegado. Por isto foi chamado o nome da cidade, Zoar.
23 The sunne did rise vpon the earth, when Lot entred into Zoar.
O sol saía sobre a terra, quando Ló chegou a Zoar.
24 Then the Lord rained vpon Sodom and vpon Gomorah brimstone, and fire from the Lord out of heauen,
Então choveu o SENHOR sobre Sodoma e sobre Gomorra enxofre e fogo da parte do SENHOR desde os céus;
25 And ouerthrewe those cities and all the plaine, and all the inhabitants of the cities; and that that grewe vpon the earth.
E destruiu as cidades, e toda aquela planície, com todos os moradores daquelas cidades, e o fruto da terra.
26 Now his wife behind him looked backe, and she became a pillar of salt.
Então a mulher de Ló olhou atrás, às costas dele, e se tornou estátua de sai.
27 And Abraham rising vp earely in ye morning went to the place, where he had stand before the Lord,
E subiu Abraão pela manhã ao lugar onde havia estado diante do SENHOR:
28 And looking towarde Sodom and Gomorah and toward all the land of the plaine, behold, he sawe the smoke of the lande mounting vp as the smoke of a fornace.
E olhou até Sodoma e Gomorra, e até toda a terra daquela planície olhou; e eis que a fumaça subia da terra como a fumaça de um forno.
29 But yet when God destroyed the cities of the plaine, God thought vpon Abraham, and sent Lot out from the middes of the destruction, when he ouerthrewe the cities, wherein Lot dwelled.
Assim foi que, quando destruiu Deus as cidades da planície, lembrou-se Deus de Abraão, e enviou fora a Ló do meio da destruição, ao assolar as cidades onde Ló estava.
30 Then Lot went vp from Zoar, and dwelt in the mountaine with his two daughters: for he feared to tarie in Zoar, but dwelt in a caue, he, and his two daughters.
Porém Ló subiu de Zoar, e assentou no monte, e suas duas filhas com ele; porque teve medo de ficar em Zoar, e se abrigou em uma caverna ele e suas duas filhas.
31 And the elder saide vnto the yonger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth, to come in vnto vs after the maner of all ye earth.
Então a maior disse à menor: Nosso pai é velho, e não resta homem na terra que entre a nós conforme o costume de toda a terra:
32 Come, wee will make our father drinke wine, and lie with him, that we may preserue seede of our father.
Vem, demos a beber vinho a nosso pai, e durmamos com ele, e conservaremos de nosso pai geração.
33 So they made their father drinke wine that night, and the elder went and lay with her father: but he perceiued not, neither whe she lay downe, neither when she rose vp.
E deram a beber vinho a seu pai aquela noite: e entrou a maior, e dormiu com seu pai; mas ele não sentiu quando se deitou com ela nem quando se levantou.
34 And on the morowe the elder saide to the yonger, Behold, yester night lay I with my father: let vs make him drinke wine this night also, and goe thou and lie with him, that we may preserue seede of our father.
O dia seguinte disse a maior à menor: Eis que eu dormi a noite passada com meu pai; demos a ele de beber vinho também esta noite, e entra e dorme com ele, para que conservemos de nosso pai geração.
35 So they made their father drinke wine that night also, and the yonger arose, and lay with him, but he perceiued not, when she lay downe, neither when she rose vp.
E deram a beber vinho a seu pai também aquela noite: e levantou-se a menor, e dormiu com ele; mas não conseguiu perceber quando se deitou com ela, nem quando se levantou.
36 Thus were both the daughters of Lot with childe by their father.
E conceberam as duas filhas de Ló, de seu pai.
37 And the elder bare a sonne, and she called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites vnto this day.
E deu à luz a maior um filho, e chamou seu nome Moabe, o qual é pai dos moabitas até hoje.
38 And the yonger bare a sonne also, and she called his name Ben-ammi: the same is the father of the Ammonites vnto this day.
A menor também deu à luz um filho, e chamou seu nome Ben-Ami, o qual é pai dos amonitas até hoje.
