Genesis 17
1 When Abram was ninetie yeere olde and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. walke before me, and be thou vpright,
Ko je bil Abram star devetindevetdeset let, se je Gospod prikazal Abramu in mu rekel: »Jaz sem Vsemogočni Bog, hodi pred menoj in bodi popoln.
2 And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly.
Svojo zavezo bom sklenil med seboj in teboj in te silno namnožil.«
3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
Abram je padel na svoj obraz in Bog je z njim govoril, rekoč:
4 Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,
»Kar se mene tiče, glej, moja zaveza je s teboj in ti boš oče mnogih narodov.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.
Niti se tvoje ime ne bo več imenovalo Abram, temveč bo tvoje ime Abraham, kajti naredil sem te za očeta mnogih narodov.
6 Also I will make thee exceeding fruitfull, and will make nations of thee: yea, Kings shall proceede of thee.
Naredil te bom silno rodovitnega in iz tebe bom naredil narode in iz tebe bodo prišli kralji.
7 Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.
Vzpostavil bom svojo zavezo med seboj in teboj in tvojim semenom za teboj po njihovih rodovih za večno zavezo, da bom Bog tebi in tvojemu semenu za teboj.
8 And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.
Tebi in tvojemu semenu za teboj bom dal deželo, v kateri si tujec, vso kánaansko deželo, za večno posest in jaz bom njihov Bog.«
9 Againe God said vnto Abraham, Thou also shalt keepe my couenant, thou, and thy seede after thee in their generations.
Bog je rekel Abrahamu: »Držal se boš moje zaveze, torej ti in tvoje seme za teboj po njihovih rodovih.
10 This is my couenant which ye shall keepe betweene me and you, and thy seede after thee, Let euery man childe among you be circumcised:
To je moja zaveza, ki se je boste držali, med menoj in teboj in tvojim potomstvom za teboj: vsak fantek med vami naj bo obrezan.
11 That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.
Obrezali boste meso svoje prednje kožice in to bo simbol zaveze med menoj in vami.
12 And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.
Kdor je star osem dni, naj bo med vami obrezan, vsak fantek po svojih rodovih, kdor je rojen v hiši ali kupljen z denarjem kateregakoli tujca, ki ni iz tvojega potomstva.
13 He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.
Kdor je rojen v tvoji hiši in kdor je kupljen z denarjem, mora biti obrezan in moja zaveza bo v vašem mesu za večno zavezo.
14 But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.
Neobrezan fantek, katerega meso njegove prednje kožice ni obrezano, naj bo ta duša iztrebljena iz svojega ljudstva; prelomil je mojo zavezo.«
15 Afterward God said vnto Abraham, Sarai thy wife shalt thou not call Sarai, but Sarah shalbe her name.
Bog je rekel Abrahamu: »Kar se tiče tvoje žene Saráje, njenega imena ne boš več klical Sarája, temveč Sara bo njeno ime.
16 And I will blesse her, and will also giue thee a sonne of her, yea, I will blesse her, and she shall be the mother of nations: Kings also of people shall come of her.
Blagoslovil jo bom in ti tudi od nje dal sina. Da, blagoslovil jo bom in ona bo mati narodov, kralji ljudstev bodo iz nje.«
17 Then Abraham fell vpon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a childe be borne vnto him, that is an hundreth yeere olde? and shall Sarah that is ninetie yeere olde beare?
Potem je Abraham padel na svoj obraz, se zasmejal in v svojem srcu rekel: »Ali bo otrok rojen njemu, ki je star sto let? In ali bo Sara, ki je stara devetdeset let, rodila?«
18 And Abraham saide vnto God, Oh, that Ishmael might liue in thy sight.
Abraham je rekel Bogu: »Oh, da bi Izmael lahko živel pred teboj!«
19 Then God saide, Sarah thy wife shall beare thee a sonne in deede, and thou shalt call his name Izhak: and I will establish my couenant with him for an euerlasting couenant, and with his seede after him.
Bog je rekel: »Tvoja žena Sara ti bo zares rodila sina in ti boš njegovo ime klical Izak in vzpostavil bom svojo zavezo z njim za večno zavezo in s tvojim semenom za njim.
20 And as concerning Ishmael, I haue heard thee: loe, I haue blessed him, and will make him fruitfull, and will multiplie him exceedingly: twelue princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him.
In kar se tiče Izmaela, sem te uslišal: ›Glej, blagoslovil sem ga in naredil ga bom rodovitnega in ga silno pomnožil. Dvanajst princev bo zaplodil in naredil ga bom [za] velik narod.‹
21 But my couenant will I establish with Izhak, which Sarah shall beare vnto thee, the next yeere at this season.
Toda svojo zavezo bom vzpostavil z Izakom, ki ti ga bo rodila Sara ob tem določenem času, v naslednjem letu.«
22 And he left off talking with him, and God went vp from Abraham.
In prenehal je govoriti z njim in Bog se je dvignil od Abrahama.
23 Then Abraham tooke Ishmael his sonne and all that were borne in his house, and all that was bought with his money, that is, euery man childe among the men of Abrahams house, and he circumcised the foreskinne of their flesh in that selfe same day, as God had comaunded him.
Abraham je vzel svojega sina Izmaela in vse, ki so bili rojeni v njegovi hiši in vse, kar je kupil s svojim denarjem, vsakega moškega izmed ljudi Abrahamove hiše in obrezal meso njihove prednje kožice na prav isti dan, kakor mu je rekel Bog.
24 Abraham also himselfe was ninetie yeere olde and nine, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
Abraham je bil star devetindevetdeset let, ko je bil obrezan v mesu svoje prednje kožice.
25 And Ishmael his sonne was thirteene yeere olde, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
In njegov sin Izmael je bil star trinajst let, ko je bil obrezan v mesu svoje prednje kožice.
26 The selfe same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his sonne:
Na prav isti dan sta bila obrezana Abraham in njegov sin Izmael.
27 And all the men of his house, both borne in his house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
Vsi ljudje njegove hiše, rojeni v hiši in kupljeni z denarjem od tujca, so bili obrezani z njim.
