Genesis 17
1 When Abram was ninetie yeere olde and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. walke before me, and be thou vpright,
अब्राम उनान्सय वर्षको हुँदा परमप्रभु तिनीकहाँ देखा पर्नुभयो र तिनलाई भन्नुभयो, “म सर्वशक्तिमान् परमेश्वर हुँ । मेरो सामु आज्ञाकारी भएर हिँड्, र निर्दोष हो ।
2 And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly.
त्यसपछि मेरो र तेरो बिचको आफ्नो करार म पक्का गर्नेछु, र तँलाई अत्यन्तै वृद्धि गराउनेछु ।”
3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
अब्राम घोप्टो परे अनि परमेश्वरले तिनलाई भन्नुभयो,
4 Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,
“निश्चय नै मेरो करार तँसँगै छ । तँ धेरै जातिहरूका पिता बन्नेछस् ।”
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.
तेरो नाम अब्राम हुनेछैन, तर अब्राहाम हुनेछ । किनकि म तँलाई धेरै जातिका पिता हुनलाई नियुक्त गर्छु ।
6 Also I will make thee exceeding fruitfull, and will make nations of thee: yea, Kings shall proceede of thee.
म तँलाई अत्यन्तै फल्दो-फुल्दो तुल्याउनेछु, र तँबाट धेरै जातिहरू बनाउनेछु । तँबाट राजाहरू उत्पन्न हुनेछन् ।
7 Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.
तँ र तँपछिका तेरा सन्तानका परमेश्वर हुनलाई तेरो र मेरो र तँपछिका तेरा सन्तानको बिचमा नित्य रहिरहने करार म स्थापित गर्नेछु ।
8 And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.
तँ बसेको देश अर्थात् सारा कनान तँ र तँपछि आउने तेरा सन्तानलाई सधैँको निम्ति अधिकारको रूपमा दिनेछु, र म तिनीहरूका परमेश्वर हुनेछु ।”
9 Againe God said vnto Abraham, Thou also shalt keepe my couenant, thou, and thy seede after thee in their generations.
त्यसपछि परमेश्वरले अब्राहामलाई भन्नुभयो, “तैँलेचाहिँ मेरो करार पालन गर्नुपर्छ, तँ र तँपछिका तेरा सन्तानहरूले तिनीहरूका पुस्तौँसम्म ।
10 This is my couenant which ye shall keepe betweene me and you, and thy seede after thee, Let euery man childe among you be circumcised:
यो मेरो र तेरो र तँपछि आउने तेरा सन्तानहरूका बिचमा भएको तिमीहरूले पालन गर्नुपर्ने मेरो करार होः तिमीहरूका बिचमा भएका हरेक पुरुषको खतना हुनुपर्छ ।
11 That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.
तिमीहरूको खलडीको खतना हुनुपर्छ । मेरो र तिमीहरूको बिचको करारको चिन्ह यही हुनेछ ।
12 And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.
तिमीहरूका पुस्तौँसम्म तिमीहरूमा आठ दिन पुगेका हरेक पुरुषको खतना गरिनुपर्छ । यसमा तेरो घरमा जन्मेका र तेरो सन्तान नभए पनि विदेशीबाट दाम हालेर किनेका व्यक्ति पनि पर्दछन् ।
13 He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.
तेरो घरमा जन्मेका र तेरो पैसाले किनेका सबैको खतना हुनैपर्छ । यसरी मेरो करार तिमीहरूको शरीरमा नित्य रहिरहने करार हुनेछ ।
14 But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.
खलडीको खतना नगरिएको पुरुष उसका मानिसहरूबाट बहिष्कार गरिनेछ । त्यसले मेरो करार भङ्ग गरेको छ ।”
15 Afterward God said vnto Abraham, Sarai thy wife shalt thou not call Sarai, but Sarah shalbe her name.
पमेश्वरले अब्राहामलाई भन्नुभयो, “तेरी पत्नी साराईलाई चाहिँ अबदेखि साराई भनेर नबोलाउनू । तर त्यसको नाउँ सारा हुनेछ ।
16 And I will blesse her, and will also giue thee a sonne of her, yea, I will blesse her, and she shall be the mother of nations: Kings also of people shall come of her.
म त्यसलाई आशिष् दिनेछु, र त्यसद्वारा म तँलाई एउटा छोरो दिनेछु । म त्यसलाई आशिष् दिनेछु, र त्यो जाति-जातिहरूकी आमा हुनेछे । जाति-जातिहरूका राजाहरू त्यसबाट उत्पन्न हुनेछन् ।”
17 Then Abraham fell vpon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a childe be borne vnto him, that is an hundreth yeere olde? and shall Sarah that is ninetie yeere olde beare?
त्यसपछि अब्राहाम घोप्टो परेर हाँसे, अनि मनमनै यसो भने, “के सय वर्षको मानिसबाट सन्तान जन्मन सक्छ र? नब्बे वर्ष पुगेकी साराले कसरी सन्तान जन्माउन सक्छिन् र?”
18 And Abraham saide vnto God, Oh, that Ishmael might liue in thy sight.
अब्राहामले परमेश्वरलाई भने, “इश्माएल नै तपाईंको आशिष््मा बाँचिरहे त हुन्छ!”
19 Then God saide, Sarah thy wife shall beare thee a sonne in deede, and thou shalt call his name Izhak: and I will establish my couenant with him for an euerlasting couenant, and with his seede after him.
परमेश्वरले भन्नुभयो, “होइन, तर तेरी पत्नी साराले तेरो निम्ति एउटा छोरो जन्माउनेछे, र तैँले त्यसको नाउँ इसहाक राख्नू । नित्य रहिरहने करारको रूपमा म त्यससित र त्यसपछि आउने त्यसका सन्तानसित मेरो करार स्थापित गर्नेछु ।
20 And as concerning Ishmael, I haue heard thee: loe, I haue blessed him, and will make him fruitfull, and will multiplie him exceedingly: twelue princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him.
इश्माएको विषयमा मैले तेरो बिन्ति सुनेँ । हेर्, म त्यसलाई आशिष् दिनेछु, र त्यसलाई फल्दो-फुल्दो बनाएर प्रशस्त गरी त्यसको वृद्धि गर्नेछु । त्यो बाह्र जातिका अगुवाहरूका पिता हुनेछ, र त्यसलाई म ठुलो जाति बनाउनेछु ।
21 But my couenant will I establish with Izhak, which Sarah shall beare vnto thee, the next yeere at this season.
तर मेरो करार त म इसहाकसँग स्थापित गर्नेछु, जसलाई साराले अर्को वर्ष यही समयमा तँबाट जन्माउनेछे ।”
22 And he left off talking with him, and God went vp from Abraham.
तिनीसँग कुरा गरिसक्नुभएपछि परमेश्वर अब्राहामदेखि छुट्टिनुभयो ।
23 Then Abraham tooke Ishmael his sonne and all that were borne in his house, and all that was bought with his money, that is, euery man childe among the men of Abrahams house, and he circumcised the foreskinne of their flesh in that selfe same day, as God had comaunded him.
त्यसपछि अब्राहामले आफ्नो छोरो इश्माएल, र आफ्नो घरमा जन्मेका, र दाम हालेर किनेका सबै, परमेश्वरले भन्नुभएबमोजिम त्यसै दिन आफ्नो घरका सबै पुरुषहरूका खलडीको खतना गरे ।
24 Abraham also himselfe was ninetie yeere olde and nine, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
तिनको खलडीको खतना गर्दा अब्राहाम उनान्सय वर्षका थिए ।
25 And Ishmael his sonne was thirteene yeere olde, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
तिनको छोरो इश्माएलचाहिँ आफ्नो खलडीको खतना गर्दा तेह्र वर्षका थिए ।
26 The selfe same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his sonne:
अब्राहाम र इश्माएलको खतना एकै दिनमा भयो ।
27 And all the men of his house, both borne in his house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
तिनको घरमा जन्मेका र विदेशीबाट किनिएका सबै पुरुषहरूको खतना तिनको खतनासँगसँगै भयो ।
