Genesis 17
1 When Abram was ninetie yeere olde and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. walke before me, and be thou vpright,
Midőn Ávrom kilencvenkilenc éves volt, megjelent az Örökkévaló Ávromnak és mondta neki: Én vagyok Isten, a Mindenható, járj előttem és légy tökéletes.
2 And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly.
És én teszem szövetségemet közém és közéd és megsokasítlak igen nagyon.
3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
És Ávrom leborult arcára; Isten pedig beszélt vele, mondván:
4 Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,
Az én szövetségem íme veled van és te leszel a népek tömegének atyjává.
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.
Azért ne neveztessék a te neved Ávromnak, hanem legyen a te neved Ábrahám, mert népek tömegének atyjává teszlek én téged.
6 Also I will make thee exceeding fruitfull, and will make nations of thee: yea, Kings shall proceede of thee.
És megszaporítlak téged igen nagyon és népekké teszlek, és királyok származnak majd tőled.
7 Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.
És én fönntartom, szövetségemet közöttem és közötted, meg magzatod között utánad, az ő nemzedékeiken át, örök szövetség gyanánt, hogy legyek teneked Istened és magzatodnak utánad.
8 And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.
Neked adom és a te magzatodnak utánad tartózkodásod országát: Kánaán egész országát, örök birtokul; és én leszek nekik Istenük.
9 Againe God said vnto Abraham, Thou also shalt keepe my couenant, thou, and thy seede after thee in their generations.
És mondta Isten Ábrahámnak: Te pedig az én szövetségemet őrizd meg, te és a te magzatod utánad, az ő nemzedékeiken át.
10 This is my couenant which ye shall keepe betweene me and you, and thy seede after thee, Let euery man childe among you be circumcised:
Ez az én szövetségem, amelyet megőrizzetek közöttem és köztetek és magzatod között utánad: Metéltessék körül nálatok minden férfiszemély!
11 That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.
Metéljétek körül fitymátok húsát és legyen ez szövetségjelül köztem és köztetek:
12 And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.
És pedig nyolc napos korában metéltessék körül nálatok minden férfiszemély, nemzedékeiteken át; a házban született vagy a pénzen vett bármely idegen közül, aki nem a te magzatodból való.
13 He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.
Körülmetéltessék a házadban született és a pénzeden vett és legyen szövetségem a testeteken örök szövetségül!
14 But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.
A körülmetéletlen férfiszemély pedig, aki nem metéli körül fitymájának húsát, irtassék ki az a lélek népe köréből, szövetségemet szegte meg.
15 Afterward God said vnto Abraham, Sarai thy wife shalt thou not call Sarai, but Sarah shalbe her name.
És mondta Isten Ábrahámnak: Szórájt, a te feleségedet ne nevezd Szórájnak, hanem Sára legyen a neve.
16 And I will blesse her, and will also giue thee a sonne of her, yea, I will blesse her, and she shall be the mother of nations: Kings also of people shall come of her.
Én pedig megáldom őt és adok is őtőle neked fiat; megáldom őt, hogy nemzetekké legyen és népek királyai származzanak tőle.
17 Then Abraham fell vpon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a childe be borne vnto him, that is an hundreth yeere olde? and shall Sarah that is ninetie yeere olde beare?
És leborult Ábrahám arcára és nevetett; mondta pedig szívében: Vajon a száz évesnek szülessék-e, vagy Sára, a kilencven éves szüljön?
18 And Abraham saide vnto God, Oh, that Ishmael might liue in thy sight.
És mondta Ábrahám Istennek: Vajha Ismáel élne a te színed előtt!
19 Then God saide, Sarah thy wife shall beare thee a sonne in deede, and thou shalt call his name Izhak: and I will establish my couenant with him for an euerlasting couenant, and with his seede after him.
És mondta Isten: Bizony, Sára, a te feleséged szül neked fiút és nevezd őt Jicchoknak (Izsák); és fönntartom szövetségemet vele örök szövetségül az ő magzata számára, utána.
20 And as concerning Ishmael, I haue heard thee: loe, I haue blessed him, and will make him fruitfull, and will multiplie him exceedingly: twelue princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him.
Ismáelre nézve pedig meghallgattalak; íme, megáldom őt, megszaporítom őt és megsokasítom őt igen nagyon, tizenkét fejedelmet fog nemzeni és nagy néppé teszem őt.
21 But my couenant will I establish with Izhak, which Sarah shall beare vnto thee, the next yeere at this season.
De szövetségemet Izsákkal tartom fönn, akit Sára fog neked szülni ezen időben, a jövő évben.
22 And he left off talking with him, and God went vp from Abraham.
Midőn végzett azzal, hogy beszéljen vele, fölszállt Isten Ábrahámtól.
23 Then Abraham tooke Ishmael his sonne and all that were borne in his house, and all that was bought with his money, that is, euery man childe among the men of Abrahams house, and he circumcised the foreskinne of their flesh in that selfe same day, as God had comaunded him.
És vette Ábrahám Ismáelt, az ő fiát és házának minden szülöttét, és minden pénzen vettet, minden férfiszemélyt Ábrahám háza népe közül és körülmetélte fitymájának húsát ugyanazon a napon, melyen beszélt vele Isten.
24 Abraham also himselfe was ninetie yeere olde and nine, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
Ábrahám pedig kilencvenkilenc éves volt, midőn körülmetélte fitymájának húsát.
25 And Ishmael his sonne was thirteene yeere olde, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
És Ismáel, az ő fia, tizenhárom éves volt, midőn körülmetéltetett fitymájának húsa.
26 The selfe same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his sonne:
Ugyanazon a napon metéltetett körül Ábrahám és Ismáel, az ő fia;
27 And all the men of his house, both borne in his house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
meg házának minden férfi, házában született vagy pénzen vett az idegen közül, vele együtt metéltettek körül.
