Genesis 17

1 When Abram was ninetie yeere olde and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. walke before me, and be thou vpright,

Když pak Abram byl v devadesáti devíti letech, ukázal se mu Hospodin, a řekl jemu: Já jsem Bůh silný všemohoucí; chodiž ustavičně přede mnou a budiž dokonalým.

2 And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly.

A učiním smlouvu svou mezi sebou a tebou a rozmnožím tě náramně velmi.

3 Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,

Padl pak Abram na tvář svou; i mluvil Bůh s ním, řka:

4 Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,

Jáť jsem, aj, smlouva má s tebou, a budeš otcem národů mnohých.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.

Aniž více slouti bude jméno tvé Abram, ale bude jméno tvé Abraham; nebo otcem mnohých národů učinil jsem tě.

6 Also I will make thee exceeding fruitfull, and will make nations of thee: yea, Kings shall proceede of thee.

A učiním, abys se rozplodil náramně velmi, a rozšířím tě v národy; i králové z tebe vyjdou.

7 Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.

Utvrdím také smlouvu svou mezi sebou a tebou, i mezi semenem tvým po tobě, po rodech jejich, za smlouvu věčnou, totiž abych byl Bohem tvým i semene tvého po tobě.

8 And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.

Nadto dám tobě i semeni tvému po tobě zemi, v nížto obýváš pohostinu, všecku zemi Kananejskou k vládařství věčnému; a budu jejich Bohem.

9 Againe God said vnto Abraham, Thou also shalt keepe my couenant, thou, and thy seede after thee in their generations.

Řekl ještě Bůh Abrahamovi: Ty pak ostříhati budeš smlouvy mé, ty i símě tvé po tobě, po rodech svých.

10 This is my couenant which ye shall keepe betweene me and you, and thy seede after thee, Let euery man childe among you be circumcised:

Tatoť jest smlouva má mezi mnou a mezi vámi, i mezi semenem tvým po tobě, kteréž ostříhati budete: Aby obřezán byl mezi vámi každý pohlaví mužského.

11 That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.

Obřežete pak tělo hanby své; a to bude znamením smlouvy mezi mnou a mezi vámi.

12 And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.

Každý tedy pohlaví mužského osmého dne obřezán bude mezi vámi po rodech vašich, doma narozený i koupený za stříbro, z kterých by koli cizozemců byl, jenž není z semene tvého.

13 He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.

Konečně ať jest obřezán narozený v domě tvém, i koupený za peníze tvé; a budeť smlouva má na těle vašem za smlouvu věčnou.

14 But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.

Neobřezaný pak pacholík, kterýž by neobřezal těla neobřízky své, vyhlazena zajisté bude duše ta z lidu svého; nebo smlouvu mou zrušil.

15 Afterward God said vnto Abraham, Sarai thy wife shalt thou not call Sarai, but Sarah shalbe her name.

Řekl také Bůh Abrahamovi: Sarai manželce své nebudeš říkati Sarai, ale Sára bude jméno její.

16 And I will blesse her, and will also giue thee a sonne of her, yea, I will blesse her, and she shall be the mother of nations: Kings also of people shall come of her.

Nebo požehnám jí a dámť z ní syna; požehnámť jí, a bude v národy; králové národů z ní vyjdou.

17 Then Abraham fell vpon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a childe be borne vnto him, that is an hundreth yeere olde? and shall Sarah that is ninetie yeere olde beare?

Tedy padl Abraham na tvář svou, a zasmáv se, řekl v srdci svém: Zdali stoletému narodí se syn? A zdali Sára v devadesáti letech porodí?

18 And Abraham saide vnto God, Oh, that Ishmael might liue in thy sight.

I řekl Abraham Bohu: Ó byť jen Izmael živ byl před tebou!

19 Then God saide, Sarah thy wife shall beare thee a sonne in deede, and thou shalt call his name Izhak: and I will establish my couenant with him for an euerlasting couenant, and with his seede after him.

Jemužto řekl Bůh: Nýbrž Sára manželka tvá porodí tobě syna, a nazůveš jméno jeho Izák; i utvrdím smlouvu svou s ním za smlouvu věčnou, i s semenem jeho po něm.

20 And as concerning Ishmael, I haue heard thee: loe, I haue blessed him, and will make him fruitfull, and will multiplie him exceedingly: twelue princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him.

Také o Izmaele uslyšel jsem tě; a aj, požehnám jemu, a učiním to, aby se rozplodil, a rozmnožím ho náramně velmi; dvanáctero knížat zplodí, a rozšířím jej v národ veliký.

21 But my couenant will I establish with Izhak, which Sarah shall beare vnto thee, the next yeere at this season.

Ale smlouvu svou utvrdím s Izákem, kteréhožť porodí Sára po roce, při tomto času.

22 And he left off talking with him, and God went vp from Abraham.

A když dokonal Bůh řeč svou s ním, vstoupil od Abrahama.

23 Then Abraham tooke Ishmael his sonne and all that were borne in his house, and all that was bought with his money, that is, euery man childe among the men of Abrahams house, and he circumcised the foreskinne of their flesh in that selfe same day, as God had comaunded him.

Vzal tedy Abraham Izmaele syna svého, i všecky zrozené v domě svém, i všecky koupené za stříbro své, každého, kdož byl pohlaví mužského, z domácích svých, a obřezal tělo neobřízky jejich hned v ten den, jakž s ním Bůh mluvil.

24 Abraham also himselfe was ninetie yeere olde and nine, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.

A byl Abraham v devadesáti devíti letech, když obřezáno bylo tělo neobřízky jeho.

25 And Ishmael his sonne was thirteene yeere olde, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.

Izmael pak syn jeho byl v třinácti letech, když obřezáno bylo tělo neobřízky jeho.

26 The selfe same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his sonne:

Jednoho a téhož dne obřezáni jsou, Abraham a Izmael syn jeho.

27 And all the men of his house, both borne in his house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.

I všickni domácí jeho, doma zrození i za stříbro od cizozemce koupení, obřezáni jsou s ním.
