Genesis 15
1 After these things, the worde of the Lord came vnto Abram in a vision, saying, Feare not, Abram, I am thy buckler, and thine exceeding great reward.
அதற்குபின் ஒரு தரிசனத்தில் யெகோவாவின் வார்த்தை ஆபிராமுக்கு வந்தது: “ஆபிராமே, பயப்படாதே. நானே உன் கேடயம், நானே உன் மகா பெரிய வெகுமதி.”
2 And Abram said, O Lord God, what wilt thou giue me, seeing I goe childlesse, and the steward of mine house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
அதற்கு ஆபிராம், “ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவாவே, நான் பிள்ளையில்லாதவனாய் இருக்க, எனக்கு நீர் எதைத் தரப்போகிறீர்? என் சொத்துக்களை உரிமையாக்கிக் கொள்ளப்போகிறவன் தமஸ்கு பட்டணத்தைச் சேர்ந்த எலியேசர்தானே?”
3 Againe Abram saide, Beholde, to me thou hast giuen no seede: wherefore loe, a seruant of mine house shalbe mine heire.
பின்னும் ஆபிராம், “நீர் எனக்குப் பிள்ளைகளைக் கொடுக்கவில்லையே; ஆதலால், என் வீட்டு வேலைக்காரன் என் வாரிசாகப் போகிறான்” என்றான்.
4 Then beholde, the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying, This man shall not be thine heire, but one that shall come out of thine owne bowels, he shalbe thine heire.
அப்பொழுது ஆபிராமுக்கு யெகோவாவினுடைய வார்த்தை வந்தது: “இந்த மனிதன் உன் வாரிசாய் இருக்கமாட்டான், உன் சதையும் உன் இரத்தமுமாய் உன்னிலிருந்து பிறக்கும் உன் மகனே உன் வாரிசாய் இருப்பான்” என்றார்.
5 Moreouer he brought him forth and said, Looke vp nowe vnto heauen, and tell ye starres, if thou be able to number them: and he said vnto him, So shall thy seede be.
பின்பு யெகோவா ஆபிராமை வெளியே கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, “வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார், நட்சத்திரங்களை உன்னால் எண்ண முடியுமானால் எண்ணு; உன் சந்ததியும் அவற்றைப் போலவே இருக்கும்” என்றார்.
6 And Abram beleeued the Lord, and he counted that to him for righteousnesse.
ஆபிராம் யெகோவாவை விசுவாசித்தான், அந்த விசுவாசத்தை அவர் அவனுக்கு நீதியாக எண்ணினார்.
7 Againe he saide vnto him, I am the Lord, that brought thee out of Vr of the Caldees, to giue thee this land to inherite it.
பின்னும் யெகோவா ஆபிராமிடம், “இந்த நாட்டை நீ உடைமையாக்கிக்கொள்ளும்படி இதை உனக்குக் கொடுப்பதற்காக, கல்தேயரின் ஊர் பட்டணத்திலிருந்து உன்னைக் கொண்டுவந்த யெகோவா நானே” என்றார்.
8 And he said, O Lord God, whereby shall I knowe that I shall inherite it?
அதற்கு ஆபிராம், “ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவாவே, நான் இதை உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்வேன் என்பதை எப்படி அறிவேன்?” என்று கேட்டான்.
9 Then he said vnto him, Take me an heifer of three yeeres olde, and a shee goate of three yeeres olde, and a ramme of three yeeres olde, a turtle doue also and a pigeon.
யெகோவா அவனிடம், “ஒரு இளம் பசுவையும், ஒரு வெள்ளாட்டையும், ஒரு செம்மறியாட்டுக் கடாவையும் என்னிடம் கொண்டுவா, அவை ஒவ்வொன்றும் மூன்று வயதுடையதாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்; அத்துடன் ஒரு காட்டுப்புறாவையும் ஒரு புறாக்குஞ்சையும் கொண்டுவா” என்றார்.
10 So he tooke all these vnto him, and deuided them into the middes, and laid euery piece one against an other: but the birdes deuided he not.
அப்பொழுது ஆபிராம் அவை எல்லாவற்றையும் அவரிடம் கொண்டுவந்து, மிருகங்களை இரண்டாகப் பிளந்து, அவைகளை ஒன்றுக்கொன்று எதிராக ஒழுங்குபடுத்தி வைத்தான்; பறவைகளையோ அவன் இரண்டாக வெட்டவில்லை.
11 Then foules fell on the carkases, and Abram droue them away.
அப்பொழுது மாமிசம் தின்னிப் பறவைகள், வெட்டி வைத்த உடல்களை உண்பதற்கு இறங்கின, ஆபிராம் அவைகளைத் துரத்திவிட்டான்.
12 And when the sunne went downe, there fell an heauie sleepe vpon Abram: and loe, a very fearefull darkenes fell vpon him.
சூரியன் மறைந்துகொண்டிருக்கும்போது, ஆபிராம் ஆழ்ந்த நித்திரை அடைந்தான்; பயங்கரமான காரிருள் அவனை மூடிக்கொண்டது.
13 Then he saide to Abram, Knowe for a suretie, that thy seede shalbe a stranger in a land, that is not theirs, foure hundreth yeeres, and shall serue them: and they shall intreate them euill.
அவ்வேளையில் யெகோவா ஆபிராமிடம், “நீ நன்கு அறிந்துகொள்: உன் சந்ததிகள் தங்களுக்குச் சொந்தமில்லாத ஒரு நாட்டிலே அந்நியர்களாக இருப்பார்கள், அவர்கள் நானூறு வருடங்களுக்கு அடிமைப்படுத்தப்பட்டு துன்புறுத்தப்படுவார்கள்.
14 Notwithstanding the nation, whom they shall serue, will I iudge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
ஆனால் அவர்கள் அடிமைகளாய் இருந்து பணிசெய்கிற அந்த நாட்டையோ நான் நியாயந்தீர்ப்பேன்; அதன்பின் அவர்கள் அதிக உடைமைகளுடன் அங்கிருந்து வெளியேறுவார்கள்.
15 But thou shalt goe vnto thy fathers in peace, and shalt be buried in a good age.
நீயோ, மன சமாதானத்துடன் உன் முன்னோருடன் சேருவாய், முதிர்வயதில் இறந்து அடக்கம்பண்ணப்படுவாய்.
16 And in the fourth generation they shall come hither againe: for the wickednes of the Amorites is not yet full.
உன் சந்ததிகள் நான்காம் தலைமுறையில் மறுபடியும் இங்கே திரும்பி வருவார்கள்; ஏனெனில், எமோரியருடைய பாவம் இன்னும் முழு அளவை அடையவில்லை” என்றார்.
17 Also when the sunne went downe, there was a darkenes: and behold, a smoking fornace, and a firebrand, which went betweene those pieces.
சூரியன் மறைந்து இருள் உண்டானபோது, எரிகின்ற தீப்பந்தமும், புகையும் நெருப்பு ஜாடியும் தோன்றி, வெட்டிவைத்த துண்டுகளிடையே சென்றது.
18 In that same day the Lord made a couenant with Abram, saying, Vnto thy seede haue I giuen this lande, from the riuer of Egypt vnto the great riuer, the riuer Euphrates.
அந்நாளிலே யெகோவா ஆபிராமுடன் ஒரு உடன்படிக்கை செய்து, “எகிப்தின் நதிக்கும் ஐபிராத்து நதிக்கும் இடையிலுள்ள
19 The Kenites, and the Kenizites, and the Kadmonites,
கேனியர், கெனிசியர், கத்மோனியர்
20 And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,
ஏத்தியர், பெரிசியர், ரெப்பாயீமியர்,
21 The Amorites also, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Iebusites.
எமோரியர், கானானியர், கிர்காசியர், எபூசியர் என்பவர்களின் நாட்டை உன் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.
