Genesis 13
1 Then Abram went vp from Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him toward the South.
Subiu, pois, Abrão do Egypto para a banda do Sul, elle e sua mulher, e tudo o que tinha, e com elle Lot.
2 And Abram was very rich in cattell, in siluer and in golde.
E ia Abrão muito rico em gado, em prata, e em oiro.
3 And he went on his iourney from ye South toward Beth-el, to the place where his tent had bene at ye beginning, betweene Beth-el and Haai,
E fez as suas jornadas do Sul até Beth-el, até ao logar onde ao principio estivera a sua tenda, entre Beth-el e Ai;
4 Vnto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the Name of the Lord.
Até ao logar do altar que d'antes ali tinha feito; e Abrão invocou ali o nome do Senhor.
5 And Lot also, who went with Abram, had sheepe, and cattell and tentes,
E tambem Lot, que ia com Abrão, tinha rebanhos, e vaccas, e tendas.
6 So that the land coulde not beare them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they coulde not dwell together.
E não tinha capacidade a terra para poderem habitar juntos; porque a sua fazenda era muita; de maneira que não podiam habitar juntos.
7 Also there was debate betweene ye heardmen of Abrams cattell, and the heardmen of Lots cattell. (and the Canaanites and the Perizzites dwelled at that time in the land.)
E houve contenda entre os pastores do gado de Abrão, e os pastores do gado de Lot: e os Cananeus e os Perizeus habitavam então na terra.
8 Then saide Abram vnto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, betweene thee and me, neither betweene mine heardmen and thine heardmen: for we be brethren.
E disse Abrão a Lot: Ora não haja contenda entre mim e ti, e entre os meus pastores e os teus pastores, porque irmãos varões somos.
9 Is not the whole land before thee? depart I pray thee from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will goe to the right: or if thou goe to the right hand, then I will take the left.
Não está toda a terra diante de ti? Eia, pois, aparta-te de mim; se escolheres a esquerda, irei para a direita; e se a direita escolheres, eu irei para a esquerda.
10 So when Lot lifted vp his eyes, he saw that all the plaine of Iorden was watered euery where: (for before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorah, it was as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou goest vnto Zoar)
E levantou Lot os seus olhos, e viu toda a campina do Jordão, que era toda bem regada, antes do Senhor ter destruido Sodoma e Gomorrha, e era como o jardim do Senhor, como a terra do Egypto, quando se entra em Zoar.
11 Then Lot chose vnto him all the plaine of Iorden, and tooke his iourney from the East: and they departed the one from the other.
Então Lot escolheu para si toda a campina do Jordão, e partiu Lot para o Oriente, e apartaram-se um do outro.
12 Abram dwelled in the lande of Canaan, and Lot abode in the cities of the plaine, and pitched his tent euen to Sodom.
Habitou Abrão na terra de Canaan, e Lot habitou nas cidades da campina, e armou as suas tendas até Sodoma.
13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked and exceeding sinners against the Lord.
Ora eram maus os varões de Sodoma, e grandes peccadores contra o Senhor.
14 Then the Lord saide vnto Abram, (after that Lot was departed from him) Lift vp thine eyes nowe, and looke from the place where thou art, Northward, and Southward, and Eastwarde, and Westward:
E disse o Senhor a Abrão, depois que Lot se apartou d'elle: Levanta agora os teus olhos, e olha desde o logar onde estás, para a banda do Norte, e do Sul, e do Oriente, e do Occidente;
15 For all the land, which thou seest, will I giue vnto thee and to thy seede for euer,
Porque toda esta terra que vês, te hei de dar a ti, e á tua semente, para sempre.
16 And I will make thy seede, as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seede be numbred.
E farei a tua semente como o pó da terra; de maneira que se alguem podér contar o pó da terra, tambem a tua semente será contada.
17 Arise, walke through the land, in ye length thereof, and breadth thereof: for I will giue it vnto thee.
Levanta-te, percorre essa terra, no seu comprimento e na sua largura; porque a ti a darei.
18 Then Abram remoued his tent, and came and dwelled in the plaine of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and builded there an altar vnto ye Lord.
E Abrão armou as suas tendas, e veiu, e habitou nos carvalhaes de Mamre, que estão junto a Hebron; e edificou ali um altar ao Senhor.
