Genesis 12
1 For the Lord had said vnto Abram, Get thee out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house vnto the land that I will shewe thee.
Vả, Ðức Giê-hô-va có phán cùng Áp-ram rằng: Ngươi hãy ra khỏi quê hương, vòng bà con và nhà cha ngươi, mà đi đến xứ ta sẽ chỉ cho.
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and will blesse thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
Ta sẽ làm cho ngươi nên một dân lớn; ta sẽ ban phước cho ngươi, cùng làm nổi danh ngươi, và ngươi sẽ thành một nguồn phước.
3 I will also blesse them that blesse thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Ta sẽ ban phước cho người nào chúc phước cho ngươi, rủa sả kẻ nào rủa sả ngươi; và các chi tộc nơi thế gian sẽ nhờ ngươi mà được phước.
4 So Abram departed, euen as ye Lord spake vnto him, and Lot went with him. (And Abram was seuentie and fiue yeere olde, when he departed out of Haran)
Rồi Áp-ram đi, theo như lời Ðức Giê-hô-va đã phán dạy; Lót đồng đi với người. Khi Áp-ram ra khỏi Cha-ran, tuổi người được bảy mươi lăm.
5 Then Abram tooke Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers sonne, and all their substance that they possessed, and the soules that they had gotten in Haran, and they departed, to goe to the land of Canaan: and to the land of Canaan they came.
Áp-ram dẫn Sa-rai, vợ mình, Lót, cháu mình, cả gia tài đã thâu góp, và các đầy tớ đã được tại Cha-ran, từ đó ra, để đi đến xứ Ca-na-an; rồi, chúng đều đến xứ Ca-na-an.
6 So Abram passed through the land vnto the place of Shechem, and vnto the plaine of Moreh (and the Canaanite was then in ye land)
Áp-ram trải qua xứ nầy, đến cây dẻ bộp của Mô-rê, tại Si-chem. Vả, lúc đó, dân Ca-na-an ở tại xứ.
7 And the Lord appeared vnto Abram, and said, Vnto thy seede will I giue this land. And there builded he an altar vnto the Lord, which appeared vnto him.
Ðức Giê-hô-va hiện ra cùng Áp-ram mà phán rằng: Ta sẽ ban cho dòng dõi ngươi đất nầy! Rồi tại đó Áp-ram lập một bàn thờ cho Ðức Giê-hô-va, là Ðấng đã hiện đến cùng người.
8 Afterward remouing thence vnto a moutaine Eastward from Beth-el, he pitched his tent hauing Beth-el on the Westside, and Haai on the East: and there he built an altar vnto the Lord, and called on the Name of the Lord.
Từ đó, người đi qua núi ở về phía đông Bê-tên, rồi đóng trại; phía tây có Bê-tên, phía đông có A-hi. Ðoạn, người lập tại đó một bàn thờ cho Ðức Giê-hô-va và cầu khẩn danh Ngài.
9 Againe Abram went forth going and iourneying toward the South.
Kế sau, Áp-ram vừa đi vừa đóng trại lần lần đến Nam phương.
10 Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.
Bấy giờ, trong xứ bị cơn đói kém; sự đói kém ấy lớn, nên Áp-ram xuống xứ Ê-díp-tô mà kiều ngụ.
11 And when he drewe neere to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Beholde nowe, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon:
Khi hầu vào đất Ê-díp-tô, Áp-ram bèn nói cùng Sa-rai, vợ mình, rằng: Nầy, ta biết ngươi là một người đờn bà đẹp.
12 Therefore it will come to passe, that when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife: so will they kill me, but they will keepe thee aliue.
Gặp khi nào dân Ê-díp-tô thấy ngươi, họ sẽ nói rằng: Ấy là vợ hắn đó; họ sẽ giết ta, nhưng để cho ngươi sống.
13 Say, I pray thee, that thou art my sister, that I may fare well for thy sake, and that my life may be preserued by thee.
Ta xin hãy xưng ngươi là em gái ta, hầu cho sẽ vì ngươi mà ta được trọng đãi và giữ toàn mạng ta.
14 Nowe when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians behelde the woman: for she was very faire.
Áp-ram vừa đến xứ Ê-díp-tô, dân Ê-díp-tô nhìn thấy người đờn bà đó đẹp lắm.
15 And the Princes of Pharaoh sawe her, and commended her vnto Pharaoh: so the woman was taken into Pharaohs house:
Các triều thần của Pha-ra-ôn cùng thấy người và trằm-trồ trước mặt vua; đoạn người đờn bà bị dẫn vào cung Pha-ra-ôn.
16 Who intreated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheepe, and beeues, and hee asses, and men seruants and maide seruants, and shee asses, and camelles.
Vì cớ người, nên Pha-ra-ôn hậu đãi Áp-ram, và Áp-ram được nhiều chiên, bò, lừa đực, lừa cái, lạc đà, tôi trai và tớ gái.
17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abrams wife.
Song vì Sa-rai, vợ Áp-ram, nên Ðức Giê-hô-va hành phạt Pha-ra-ôn cùng nhà người bị tai họa lớn.
18 Then Pharaoh called Abram, and saide, Why hast thou done this vnto me? Wherefore diddest thou not tell me, that she was thy wife?
Pha-ra-ôn bèn đòi Áp-ram hỏi rằng: Ngươi đã làm chi cho ta vậy? Sao không tâu với ta rằng là vợ ngươi?
19 Why saidest thou, She is my sister, that I should take her to be my wife? Nowe therefore beholde thy wife, take her and goe thy way.
Sao đã nói rằng: người đó là em gái tôi? nên nỗi ta đã lấy nàng làm vợ. Bây giờ, vợ ngươi đây; hãy nhận lấy và đi đi.
20 And Pharaoh gaue men commandement concerning him: and they conueyed him forth, and his wife, and all that he had.
Ðoạn, Pha-ra-ôn hạ lịnh cho quan quân đưa vợ chồng Áp-ram cùng hết thảy tài vật của người đi.
