Genesis 12
1 For the Lord had said vnto Abram, Get thee out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house vnto the land that I will shewe thee.
Und der HERR sprach zu Abram: Gehe aus deinem Vaterland und von deiner Freundschaft und aus deines Vaters Hause in ein Land, das ich dir zeigen will.
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and will blesse thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
Und ich will dich zum großen Volk machen und will dich segnen und dir einen großen Namen machen, und sollst ein Segen sein.
3 I will also blesse them that blesse thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Ich will segnen, die dich segnen, und verfluchen, die dich verfluchen; und in dir sollen gesegnet werden alle Geschlechter auf Erden.
4 So Abram departed, euen as ye Lord spake vnto him, and Lot went with him. (And Abram was seuentie and fiue yeere olde, when he departed out of Haran)
Da zog Abram aus, wie der HERR zu ihm gesagt hatte; und Lot zog mit ihm. Abram aber war fünfundsiebenzig Jahre alt, da er aus Haran zog.
5 Then Abram tooke Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers sonne, and all their substance that they possessed, and the soules that they had gotten in Haran, and they departed, to goe to the land of Canaan: and to the land of Canaan they came.
Also nahm Abram sein Weib Sarai und Lot, seines Bruders Sohn, mit aller ihrer Habe, die sie gewonnen hatten, und Seelen, die sie gezeuget hatten in Haran, und zogen aus, zu reisen in das Land Kanaan. Und als sie kommen waren in dasselbige Land,
6 So Abram passed through the land vnto the place of Shechem, and vnto the plaine of Moreh (and the Canaanite was then in ye land)
zog Abram durch bis an die Stätte Sichem und an den Hain More. Denn es wohneten zu der Zeit die Kanaaniter im Lande.
7 And the Lord appeared vnto Abram, and said, Vnto thy seede will I giue this land. And there builded he an altar vnto the Lord, which appeared vnto him.
Da erschien der HERR Abram und sprach: Deinem Samen will ich dies Land geben. Und er bauete daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar, der ihm erschienen war.
8 Afterward remouing thence vnto a moutaine Eastward from Beth-el, he pitched his tent hauing Beth-el on the Westside, and Haai on the East: and there he built an altar vnto the Lord, and called on the Name of the Lord.
Danach brach er auf von dannen an einen Berg, der lag gegen dem Morgen der Stadt Bethel, und richtete seine Hütte auf, daß er Bethel gegen Abend und Ai gegen dem Morgen hatte, und bauete daselbst dem HERRN einen Altar und predigte von dem Namen des HERRN.
9 Againe Abram went forth going and iourneying toward the South.
Danach wich Abram ferner und zog aus gegen den Mittag.
10 Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.
Es kam aber eine Teurung in das Land. Da zog Abram hinab in Ägypten, daß er sich daselbst als ein Fremdling enthielte; denn die Teurung war groß im Lande.
11 And when he drewe neere to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Beholde nowe, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon:
Und da er nahe bei Ägypten kam, sprach er zu seinem Weibe Sarai: Siehe, ich weiß, daß du ein schön Weib von Angesicht bist.
12 Therefore it will come to passe, that when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife: so will they kill me, but they will keepe thee aliue.
Wenn dich nun die Ägypter sehen werden, so werden sie sagen: Das ist sein Weib; und sie werden mich erwürgen und dich behalten.
13 Say, I pray thee, that thou art my sister, that I may fare well for thy sake, and that my life may be preserued by thee.
Lieber, sage doch, du seiest meine Schwester, auf daß mir's desto baß gehe um deinetwillen, und meine Seele bei dem Leben bleibe um deinetwillen.
14 Nowe when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians behelde the woman: for she was very faire.
Als nun Abram nach Ägypten kam, sahen die Ägypter das Weib, daß sie fast schön war.
15 And the Princes of Pharaoh sawe her, and commended her vnto Pharaoh: so the woman was taken into Pharaohs house:
Und die Fürsten des Pharao sahen sie und preiseten sie vor ihm. Da ward sie in des Pharao Haus gebracht.
16 Who intreated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheepe, and beeues, and hee asses, and men seruants and maide seruants, and shee asses, and camelles.
Und er tat Abram Gutes um ihretwillen. Und er hatte Schafe, Rinder, Esel, Knechte und Mägde, Eselinnen und Kamele.
17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abrams wife.
Aber der HERR plagte den Pharao mit großen Plagen und sein Haus um Sarais, Abrams Weibes, willen.
18 Then Pharaoh called Abram, and saide, Why hast thou done this vnto me? Wherefore diddest thou not tell me, that she was thy wife?
Da rief Pharao Abram zu sich und sprach zu ihm: Warum hast du mir das getan? Warum sagtest du mir's nicht, daß sie dein Weib wäre?
19 Why saidest thou, She is my sister, that I should take her to be my wife? Nowe therefore beholde thy wife, take her and goe thy way.
Warum sprachest du denn, sie wäre deine Schwester? derhalben ich sie mir zum Weibe nehme wollte. Und nun siehe, da hast du dein Weib; nimm sie und zeuch hin.
20 And Pharaoh gaue men commandement concerning him: and they conueyed him forth, and his wife, and all that he had.
Und Pharao befahl seinen Leuten über ihm, daß sie ihn geleiteten und sein Weib und alles, was er hatte.
