Genesis 12
1 For the Lord had said vnto Abram, Get thee out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house vnto the land that I will shewe thee.
Und der Herr sprach zu Abram: "Aus deinem Lande, deiner Sippe zieh fort, aus deinem Vaterhause, ins Land, das ich dir zeigen werde!
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and will blesse thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
ich mache dich zu einem großen Volke und segne dich und mache deinen Namen hochberühmt, daß du zum Segen werdest.
3 I will also blesse them that blesse thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Denn segnen will ich, die dich segnen, und die verfluchen, die dich lästern. Der Erde Stämme alle sollen sich mit dir dann segnen!"
4 So Abram departed, euen as ye Lord spake vnto him, and Lot went with him. (And Abram was seuentie and fiue yeere olde, when he departed out of Haran)
Und Abram zog fort, wie ihm der Herr gesagt, und mit ihm zog Lot; Abram aber war 75 Jahre alt, als er von Charan fortzog.
5 Then Abram tooke Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers sonne, and all their substance that they possessed, and the soules that they had gotten in Haran, and they departed, to goe to the land of Canaan: and to the land of Canaan they came.
Und Abram nahm sein Weib Sarai und seinen Brudersohn Lot und all ihre Habe, die sie erworben, sowie die Seelen, die sie in Charan bekommen hatten, und sie zogen fort, ins Land Kanaan zu wandern, und sie kamen auch in das Land Kanaan.
6 So Abram passed through the land vnto the place of Shechem, and vnto the plaine of Moreh (and the Canaanite was then in ye land)
Und Abram durchzog das Land bis zu Sichems Wohnsitz, bis zum Maulbeerbaum; damals aber waren die Kanaaniter im Land.
7 And the Lord appeared vnto Abram, and said, Vnto thy seede will I giue this land. And there builded he an altar vnto the Lord, which appeared vnto him.
Da erschien der Herr dem Abram und sprach: "Ich gebe deinem Stamme dieses Land." Da baute er dort einen Altar dem Herrn, der ihm erschienen war.
8 Afterward remouing thence vnto a moutaine Eastward from Beth-el, he pitched his tent hauing Beth-el on the Westside, and Haai on the East: and there he built an altar vnto the Lord, and called on the Name of the Lord.
Von dort zog er auf das Gebirge östlich von Betel und schlug sein Zelt auf, Betel im Westen und Ai im Osten. Dort baute er dem Herrn einen Altar und rief des Herrn Namen an.
9 Againe Abram went forth going and iourneying toward the South.
Dann zog Abram weiter und weiter, dem Südland zu.
10 Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.
Nun kam die Hungersnot ins Land, und Abram zog nach Ägypten, hier zu verbleiben; denn schwer lag die Hungersnot auf dem Land.
11 And when he drewe neere to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Beholde nowe, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon:
Als er nahe bei Ägypten war, sprach er zu seinem Weib Sarai: "Ich weiß wohl, daß du ein schönes Weib bist.
12 Therefore it will come to passe, that when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife: so will they kill me, but they will keepe thee aliue.
Sehen dich nun die Ägypter, dann denken sie: Dies ist sein Weib, und alsdann töten sie mich; dich aber werden sie am Leben lassen.
13 Say, I pray thee, that thou art my sister, that I may fare well for thy sake, and that my life may be preserued by thee.
Sag doch, du seiest meine Schwester, daß es mir um deinetwillen gut gehe. Dann bleibe ich deinetwegen ungefährdet."
14 Nowe when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians behelde the woman: for she was very faire.
Als Abram nach Ägypten kam, sahen die Ägypter, daß das Weib überaus schön war.
15 And the Princes of Pharaoh sawe her, and commended her vnto Pharaoh: so the woman was taken into Pharaohs house:
Auch des Pharao Fürsten sahen sie und rühmten sie vor Pharao. So ward das Weib in Pharaos Haus geholt.
16 Who intreated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheepe, and beeues, and hee asses, and men seruants and maide seruants, and shee asses, and camelles.
Dem Abram aber war er ihretwegen hold geworden; und so bekam er Schafe, Rinder, Esel, Sklaven, Mägde, Eselinnen und Kamele.
17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abrams wife.
Der Herr aber schlug mit schweren Plagen Pharao und sein Haus wegen Sarai, des Weibes Abrams.
18 Then Pharaoh called Abram, and saide, Why hast thou done this vnto me? Wherefore diddest thou not tell me, that she was thy wife?
Da ließ Pharao den Abram rufen und sprach: "Was hast du mir da angetan? Warum hast du mir verhehlt, daß sie dein Weib ist?
19 Why saidest thou, She is my sister, that I should take her to be my wife? Nowe therefore beholde thy wife, take her and goe thy way.
Warum hast du gesagt: 'Sie ist nur meine Schwester'? Und so nahm ich sie mir zum Weib. Nun aber sieh, hier ist dein Weib! Nimm sie und geh fort!"
20 And Pharaoh gaue men commandement concerning him: and they conueyed him forth, and his wife, and all that he had.
Und Pharao entbot seinetwegen Leute, daß sie ihn, sein Weib und all seine Habe fortschafften.
