Genesis 12
1 For the Lord had said vnto Abram, Get thee out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house vnto the land that I will shewe thee.
১সদাপ্রভু অব্রামকে বললেন, “তুমি নিজের দেশ, আত্মীয় ও বাবার বাড়ি ছেড়ে দিয়ে, আমি যে দেশ তোমাকে দেখাই, সেই দেশে চল।
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and will blesse thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
২আমি তোমার থেকে এক মহাজাতি সৃষ্টি করব এবং তোমাকে আশীর্বাদ করে তোমার নাম মহৎ করব, তাতে তুমি আশীর্বাদের আকর হবে।
3 I will also blesse them that blesse thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
৩যারা তোমাকে আশীর্বাদ করবে, তাদেরকে আমি আশীর্বাদ করব, যে কেউ তোমাকে অভিশাপ দেবে, তাকে আমি অভিশাপ দেব এবং তোমাতে পৃথিবীর যাবতীয় গোষ্ঠী আশীর্বাদ পাবে।”
4 So Abram departed, euen as ye Lord spake vnto him, and Lot went with him. (And Abram was seuentie and fiue yeere olde, when he departed out of Haran)
৪পরে অব্রাম সদাপ্রভুর সেই বাক্যানুসারে যাত্রা করলেন এবং লোটও তাঁর সঙ্গে গেলেন। হারন থেকে চলে যাবার দিন অব্রামের পঁচাত্তর বছর বয়স ছিল।
5 Then Abram tooke Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers sonne, and all their substance that they possessed, and the soules that they had gotten in Haran, and they departed, to goe to the land of Canaan: and to the land of Canaan they came.
৫অব্রাম নিজের স্ত্রী সারীকে ও ভাইয়ের ছেলে লোটকে এবং হারণে তাঁরা যে ধন উপার্জন করেছিলেন ও যে প্রাণীদেরকে লাভ করেছিলেন, সে সমস্ত নিয়ে কনান দেশে যাওয়ার জন্য যাত্রা করলেন এবং কনান দেশে আসলেন।
6 So Abram passed through the land vnto the place of Shechem, and vnto the plaine of Moreh (and the Canaanite was then in ye land)
৬আর অব্রাম দেশ দিয়ে যেতে যেতে শিখিমে, মোরির এলোন গাছের কাছে উপস্থিত হলেন। ঐ দিনের কনানীয়েরা সেই দেশে বাস করত।
7 And the Lord appeared vnto Abram, and said, Vnto thy seede will I giue this land. And there builded he an altar vnto the Lord, which appeared vnto him.
৭পরে সদাপ্রভু অব্রামকে দেখা দিয়ে বললেন, “আমি তোমার বংশকে এই দেশ দেব,” তখন সেই জায়গায় অব্রাম সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে এক যজ্ঞবেদি করলেন, যিনি তাঁকে দর্শন দিয়েছিলেন।
8 Afterward remouing thence vnto a moutaine Eastward from Beth-el, he pitched his tent hauing Beth-el on the Westside, and Haai on the East: and there he built an altar vnto the Lord, and called on the Name of the Lord.
৮পরে তিনি ঐ জায়গা ত্যাগ করে পর্বতে গিয়ে বৈথেলের পূর্ব দিকে নিজের তাঁবু স্থাপন করলেন; তার পশ্চিমে বৈথেল ও পূর্ব দিকে অয় ছিল; তিনি সে জায়গায় সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে এক যজ্ঞবেদি নির্মাণ করলেন ও সদাপ্রভুর নামে ডাকলেন।
9 Againe Abram went forth going and iourneying toward the South.
৯পরে অব্রাম ক্রমে ক্রমে দক্ষিণ দিকে গেলেন।
10 Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.
১০আর দেশে দূর্ভিক্ষ হল, তখন অব্রাম মিশরে বাস করতে যাত্রা করলেন; কারণ [কনান] দেশে ভারী দূর্ভিক্ষ হয়েছিল।
11 And when he drewe neere to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Beholde nowe, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon:
১১আর অব্রাম যখন মিশরে প্রবেশ করতে উদ্যত হন, তখন নিজের স্ত্রী সারীকে বললেন, “দেখ, আমি জানি, তুমি দেখতে সুন্দরী;
12 Therefore it will come to passe, that when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife: so will they kill me, but they will keepe thee aliue.
১২এ কারণ মিশরীয়েরা যখন তোমাকে দেখে বলবে, ‘এ তাঁর স্ত্রী,’ এবং আমাকে হত্যা করবে, আর তারা তোমাকে জীবিত রাখবে।
13 Say, I pray thee, that thou art my sister, that I may fare well for thy sake, and that my life may be preserued by thee.
১৩অনুরোধ করে, এই কথা বলো যে, তুমি আমার বোন; যেন তোমার অনুরোধে আমার ভালো হয়, তোমার জন্য আমার প্রাণ বাঁচে।”
14 Nowe when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians behelde the woman: for she was very faire.
১৪পরে অব্রাম মিশরে প্রবেশ করলে মিশরীয়েরা ঐ স্ত্রীকে খুব সুন্দরী দেখল।
15 And the Princes of Pharaoh sawe her, and commended her vnto Pharaoh: so the woman was taken into Pharaohs house:
১৫আর ফরৌণের সামনে তাঁর প্রশংসা করলেন; তাঁতে সেই স্ত্রীকে ফরৌণের বাড়িতে নিয়ে যাওয়া হল।
16 Who intreated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheepe, and beeues, and hee asses, and men seruants and maide seruants, and shee asses, and camelles.
১৬আর তাঁর অনুরোধে তিনি অব্রামকে আদর করলেন; তাতে অব্রাম মেষ, গরু, গাধা এবং দাস দাসী গাধী ও উট পেলেন।
17 But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abrams wife.
১৭কিন্তু অব্রামের স্ত্রী সারীর জন্য সদাপ্রভু ফরৌণ ও তাঁর পরিবারের ওপরে ভারী ভারী উৎপাত ঘটালেন।
18 Then Pharaoh called Abram, and saide, Why hast thou done this vnto me? Wherefore diddest thou not tell me, that she was thy wife?
১৮তাতে ফরৌণ অব্রামকে ডেকে বললেন, “আপনি আমার সঙ্গে এ কি ব্যবহার করলেন? উনি আপনার স্ত্রী, এ কথা আমাকে কেন বলেননি?
19 Why saidest thou, She is my sister, that I should take her to be my wife? Nowe therefore beholde thy wife, take her and goe thy way.
১৯ওনাকে আপনার বোন কেন বললেন? আমি তো ওনাকে বিয়ে করার জন্য নিয়েছিলাম। এখন আপনার স্ত্রীকে নিয়ে চলে যান।”
20 And Pharaoh gaue men commandement concerning him: and they conueyed him forth, and his wife, and all that he had.
২০তখন ফরৌণ লোকদেরকে তাঁর বিষয়ে আদেশ দিলেন, আর তারা সব কিছুর সঙ্গে তাঁকে ও তাঁর স্ত্রীকে বিদায় করল।
