Genesis 10
1 Now these are the generations of the sonnes of Noah, Shem, Ham and Iapheth: vnto whom sonnes were borne after the flood.
Detta är berättelsen om Noas söners släkt. De voro Sem, Ham och Jafet; och åt dem föddes söner efter floden.
2 The sonnes of Iapheth were Gomer and Magog, and Madai, and Iauan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
Jafets söner voro Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Mesek och Tiras.
3 And the sonnes of Gomer, Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
Gomers söner voro Askenas, Rifat och Togarma.
4 Also the sonnes of Iauan, Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
Javans söner voro Elisa och Tarsis, kittéerna och dodanéerna.
5 Of these were the yles of the Gentiles deuided in their landes, euery man after his tongue, and after their families in their nations.
Från dessa hava inbyggarna i hedningarnas Havsländer utbrett sig i sina länder, var efter sitt tungomål, efter sina släkter, i sina folk.
6 Moreouer, ye sonnes of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.
Hams söner voro Kus, Misraim, Put och Kanaan.
7 And the sonnes of Cush, Seba and Hauilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: also the sonnes of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.
Kus' söner voro Seba, Havila, Sabta, Raema och Sabteka. Raemas söner voro Saba och Dedan.
8 And Cush begate Nimrod, who began to be mightie in the earth.
Men Kus födde Nimrod; han var den förste som upprättade ett välde på jorden.
9 He was a mightie hunter before the Lord. wherefore it is saide, As Nimrod the mightie hunter before the Lord.
Han var ock en väldig jägare inför HERREN; därför plägar man säga: »En väldig jägare inför HERREN såsom Nimrod.»
10 And the beginning of his kingdome was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
Och hans rike hade sin begynnelse i Babel, Erek, Ackad och Kalne, i Sinears land.
11 Out of that land came Asshur, and builded Niniueh, and the citie Rehoboth, and Calah:
Från det landet drog han sedan ut till Assyrien och byggde Nineve, Rehobot-Ir och Kela,
12 Resen also betweene Niniueh and Calah: this is a great citie.
och därtill Resen mellan Nineve och Kela; detta är »den stora staden».
13 And Mizraim begate Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim.
Och Misraim födde ludéerna, anaméerna, lehabéerna, naftuhéerna,
14 Pathrusim also, and Casluhim (out of whom came the Philistims) and Caphtorims.
patroséerna, kasluhéerna, från vilka filistéerna hava utgått, och kaftoréerna.
15 Also Canaan begat Zidon his first borne, and Heth,
Och Kanaan födde Sidon, som var hans förstfödde, och Het,
16 And Iebusi, and Emori, and Girgashi,
så ock jebuséerna, amoréerna, girgaséerna,
17 And Hiui, and Arki, and Sini,
hivéerna, arkéerna, sinéerna,
18 And Aruadi, and Zemari, and Hamathi: and afterwarde were the families of the Canaanites spred abroade.
arvadéerna, semaréerna och hamatéerna. Sedan utgrenade sig kananéernas släkter allt vidare,
19 Then the border of the Canaanites was from Zidon, as thou commest to Gerar vntil Azzah, and as thou goest vnto Sodom, and Gomorah, and Admah, and Zeboijm, euen vnto Lasha.
så att kananéernas område sträckte sig från Sidon fram emot Gerar ända till Gasa, och fram emot Sodom, Gomorra, Adma och Seboim ända till Lesa.
20 These are the sonnes of Ham according to their families, according to their tongues in their countries and in their nations.
Dessa voro Hams söner, efter deras släkter och tungomål, i deras länder och folk.
21 Vnto Shem also the father of all the sonnes of Eber, and elder brother of Iapheth were children borne.
Söner föddes ock åt Sem, Jafets äldre broder, som blev stamfader för alla Ebers söner.
22 The sonnes of Shem were Elam and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.
Sems söner voro Elam, Assur, Arpaksad, Lud och Aram.
23 And the sonnes of Aram, Vz and Hul, and Gether and Mash.
Arams söner voro Us, Hul, Geter och Mas.
24 Also Arpachshad begate Shelah, and Shelah begate Eber.
Arpaksad födde Sela, och Sela födde Eber.
25 Vnto Eber also were borne two sonnes: the name of the one was Peleg: for in his dayes was the earth diuided: and his brothers name was Ioktan.
Men åt Eber föddes två söner; den ene hette Peleg, ty i hans tid blev jorden fördelad; och hans broder hette Joktan.
26 Then Ioktan begate Almodad and Sheleph, and Hazarmaueth, and Ierah,
Och Joktan födde Almodad, Selef, Hasarmavet, Jera,
27 And Hadoram, and Vzal, and Dicklah,
Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,
28 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
Obal, Abimael, Saba,
29 And Ophir, and Hauilah, and Iobab: all these were the sonnes of Ioktan.
Ofir, Havila och Jobab; alla dessa voro Joktans söner.
30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest vnto Sephar a mount of the East.
Och de hade sina boningsorter från Mesa fram emot Sefar, emot Östra berget.
31 These are the sonnes of Shem according to their families, according to their tongues, in their countreis and nations.
Dessa voro Sems söner, efter deras släkter och tungomål, i deras länder, efter deras folk.
32 These are the families of the sonnes of Noah, after their generations among their people: and out of these were the nations diuided in the earth after the flood.
Dessa voro Noas söners släkter, efter deras ättföljd, i deras folk. Och från dem hava folken efter floden utbrett sig på jorden. Se Kus och Misraim i Ordförkl. D. ä. delning.
