Genesis 1
1 In the beginning God created the heauen and the earth.
Au Commencement Dieu créa le ciel et la terre.
2 And the earth was without forme and void, and darkenesse was vpon the deepe, and the Spirit of God mooued vpon the waters.
La terre était informe et vide; les ténèbres couvraient l’abîme, et l’Esprit de Dieu se mouvait au-dessus des eaux.
3 Then God said, Let there be light: And there was light.
Dieu dit: « Que la lumière soit! » et la lumière fut.
4 And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated the light from the darkenes.
Et Dieu vit que la lumière était bonne; et Dieu sépara la lumière et les ténèbres.
5 And God called the Light, Day, and the darkenes, he called Night. So the euening and the morning were the first day.
Dieu appela la lumière jour, et les ténèbres Nuit. Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin; ce fut le premier jour.
6 Againe God said, Let there be a firmament in the mids of the waters: and let it separate the waters from the waters.
Dieu dit: « Qu’il y ait un firmament entre les eaux, et qu’il sépare les eaux d’avec les eaux. »
7 Then God made the firmament, and separated the waters, which were vnder the firmament, from the waters which were aboue the firmament: and it was so.
Et Dieu fit le firmament, et il sépara les eaux qui sont au-dessous du firmament d’avec les eaux qui sont au-dessus du firmament. Et cela fut ainsi.
8 And God called the firmament Heauen. So the Euening and the morning were the second day.
Dieu appela le firmament Ciel. Et il y eut un soir et il y eut un matin; ce fut le second jour.
9 God said againe, Let the waters vnder the heauen be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appeare. and it was so.
Dieu dit: « Que les eaux qui sont au-dessous du ciel se rassemblent en un seul lieu, et que le sec paraisse. » Et cela fut ainsi.
10 And God called the dry land, Earth, and he called the gathering together of the waters, Seas: and God saw that it was good.
Dieu appela le sec Terre, et il appela Mer l’amas des eaux. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
11 Then God said, Let the earth bud forth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seed, the fruitfull tree, which beareth fruite according to his kinde, which hath his seede in it selfe vpon the earth: and it was so.
Puis Dieu dit: « Que la terre fasse pousser du gazon, des herbes portant semence, des arbres à fruit produisant, selon leur espèce, du fruit ayant en soi sa semence, sur la terre. » Et cela fut ainsi.
12 And the earth brought foorth the bud of the herbe, that seedeth seede according to his kind, also the tree that beareth fruit, which hath his seed in it selfe according to his kinde: and God saw that it was good.
Et la terre fit sortir du gazon, des herbes portant semence selon leur espèce, et des arbres produisant, selon leur espèce, du fruit ayant en soi sa semence. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
13 So the euening and the morning were the third day.
Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin; ce fut le troisième jour.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heauen, to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signes, and for seasons, and for dayes and yeeres.
Dieu dit: « Qu’il y ait des luminaires dans le firmament du ciel pour séparer le jour et la nuit; qu’ils soient des signes, qu’ils marquent les époques, les jours et les années,
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heauen to giue light vpon the earth: and it was so.
et qu’ils servent de luminaires dans le firmament du ciel pour éclairer la terre. » Et cela fut ainsi.
16 God then made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesse light to rule the night: he made also the starres.
Dieu fit les deux grands luminaires, le plus grand luminaire pour présider au jour, le plus petit luminaire pour présider à la nuit; il fit aussi les étoiles.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heauen, to shine vpon the earth,
Dieu les plaça dans le firmament du ciel pour éclairer la terre,
18 And to rule in the day, and in the night, and to separate the light from the darkenesse: and God saw that it was good.
pour présider au jour et à la nuit, et pour séparer la lumière et les ténèbres. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
19 So the euening and the morning were the fourth day.
Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le quatrième jour.
20 Afterward God said, Let the waters bring foorth in abundance euery creeping thing that hath life: and let the foule flie vpon the earth in the open firmament of the heauen.
Dieu dit: « Que les eaux foisonnent d’une multitude d’êtres vivants, et que les oiseaux volent sur la terre, sur la face du firmament du ciel. »
21 Then God created the great whales, and euery thing liuing and mouing, which the waters brought foorth in abundance according to their kinde, and euery fethered foule according to his kinde: and God sawe that it was good.
Et Dieu créa les grands animaux aquatiques, et tout être vivant qui se meut, foisonnant dans les eaux, selon leur espèce, et tout volatile ailé selon son espèce. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
22 Then God blessed them, saying, Bring foorth fruite and multiplie, and fill the waters in the seas, and let the foule multiplie in the earth.
Et Dieu les bénit, en disant: « Soyez féconds et multipliez, et remplissez les eaux de la mer, et que les oiseaux multiplient sur la terre. »
23 So the euening and the morning were the fifte day.
Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le cinquième jour.
24 Moreouer God said, Let the earth bring foorth the liuing thing according to his kinde, cattel, and that which creepeth, and the beast of the earth, according to his kinde. and it was so.
Dieu dit: « Que la terre fasse sortir des êtres animés selon leur espèce, des animaux domestiques, des reptiles et des bêtes de la terre selon leur espèce. » Et cela fut ainsi.
25 And God made the beast of the earth according to his kinde, and the cattell according to his kinde, and euery creeping thing of the earth according to his kind: and God saw that it was good.
Dieu fit les bêtes de la terre selon leur espèce, les animaux domestiques selon leur espèce, et tout ce qui rampe sur la terre selon son espèce. Et Dieu vit que cela était bon.
26 Furthermore God said, Let vs make man in our image according to our likenes, and let them rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer the beastes, and ouer all the earth, and ouer euery thing that creepeth and moueth on the earth.
Puis Dieu dit: « Faisons l’homme à notre image, selon notre ressemblance, et qu’il domine sur les poissons de la mer, sur les oiseaux du ciel, sur les animaux domestiques et sur toute la terre, et sur les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre. »
27 Thus God created the man in his image: in the image of God created he him: he created them male and female.
Et Dieu créa l’homme à son image; il le créa à l’image de Dieu: il les créa mâle et femelle.
28 And God blessed them, and God said to them, Bring forth fruite and multiplie, and fill the earth, and subdue it, and rule ouer the fish of the sea, and ouer the foule of the heauen, and ouer euery beast that moueth vpon the earth.
Et Dieu les bénit, et il leur dit: « Soyez féconds, multipliez, remplissez la terre et soumettez-la, et dominez sur les poissons de la mer, sur les oiseaux du ciel et sur tout animal qui se meut sur la terre. »
29 And God said, Beholde, I haue giuen vnto you euery herbe bearing seede, which is vpon al the earth, and euery tree, wherein is the fruite of a tree bearing seede: that shall be to you for meate.
Et Dieu dit: « Voici que je vous donne toute herbe portant semence à la surface de toute la terre, et tout arbre qui porte un fruit d’arbre ayant semence; ce sera pour votre nourriture.
30 Likewise to euery beast of the earth, and to euery foule of the heauen, and to euery thing that moueth vpon the earth, which hath life in it selfe, euery greene herbe shall be for meate. and it was so.
Et à tout animal de la terre, et à tout oiseau du ciel, et à tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, ayant en soi un souffle de vie, je donne toute herbe verte pour nourriture. » Et cela fut ainsi.
31 And God sawe all that he had made, and loe, it was very good. So the euening and the morning were the sixt day.
Et Dieu vit tout ce qu’il avait fait, et voici cela était très bon. Et il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le sixième jour.
