Ezra 10
1 Whiles Ezra prayed thus, and confessed himselfe weeping, and falling downe before the house of God, there assembled vnto him of Israel a very great Congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept with a great lamentation.
Acum, după ce Ezra s-a rugat şi a mărturisit, plângând şi aruncându-se jos înaintea casei lui Dumnezeu, s-a strâns la el din Israel o foarte mare adunare de bărbaţi şi femei şi copii, pentru că poporul plângea foarte tare.
2 Then Shechaniah the sonne of Iehiel one of the sonnes of Elam answered, and sayd to Ezra, We haue trespassed against our God, and haue taken strange wiues of the people of the land, yet nowe there is hope in Israel concerning this.
Şi Şecania, fiul lui Iehiel, unul dintre fiii lui Elam, a răspuns şi i-a zis lui Ezra: Noi am încălcat legea împotriva Dumnezeului nostru şi am luat soţii străine din poporul ţării; totuşi acum este speranţă în Israel în această privinţă.
3 Now therfore let vs make a couenant with our God, to put away all the wiues (and such as are borne of them) according to the counsell of the Lord, and of those that feare the commandements of our God, and let it be done according to the Lawe.
De aceea acum, să facem legământ cu Dumnezeul nostru de a pune deoparte toate soţiile şi pe cei care sunt născuţi din ele, conform cu sfatul domnului meu şi al acelora care tremură la porunca Dumnezeului nostru; şi să se facă după lege.
4 Arise: for the matter belogeth vnto thee: we also wil be with thee: be of comfort and do it.
Ridică-te, pentru că acest lucru îţi aparţine; noi de asemenea vom fi cu tine; încurajează-te şi fă-o.
5 Then arose Ezra, and caused the chiefe Priestes, the Leuites, and all Israel, to sweare that they would doe according to this worde. So they sware.
Atunci s-a ridicat Ezra şi a făcut pe mai marii preoţilor, pe leviţi şi pe tot Israelul să jure că vor face conform cu acest cuvânt. Şi ei au jurat.
6 And Ezra rose vp from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Iohanan the sonne of Eliashib: he went euen thither, but he did eate neither bread, nor drunke water: for he mourned, because of the transgression of them of the captiuitie.
Atunci Ezra s-a ridicat dinaintea casei lui Dumnezeu şi a mers în camera lui Iohanan, fiul lui Eliaşib; şi după ce a intrat acolo nu a mâncat pâine nici nu a băut apă, pentru că jelea din cauza încălcării legii celor care fuseseră duşi în captivitate.
7 And they caused a proclamation to goe throughout Iudah and Ierusalem, vnto all them of the captiuitie, that they should assemble themselues vnto Ierusalem.
Şi au proclamat în tot Iuda şi Ierusalim către toţi copiii captivităţii, să se adune la Ierusalim;
8 And whosoeuer woulde not come within three dayes according to the counsel of the Princes and Elders, all his substance should be forfait, and he should be separate from the Congregation of them of the captiuitie.
Şi oricine va refuza să vină în trei zile, conform cu sfatul prinţilor şi al bătrânilor, toată averea lui va fi confiscată, iar el însuşi separat de adunarea celor care au fost duşi în captivitate.
9 Then all the men of Iudah and Beniamin assembled theselues vnto Ierusalem within three dayes, which was the twentieth day of the ninth moneth, and all the people sate in the streete of the house of God, trembling for this matter, and for the raine.
Atunci toţi bărbaţii lui Iuda şi ai lui Beniamin s-au adunat la Ierusalim în trei zile. Era luna a noua, în a douăzecea zi a lunii; şi tot poporul şedea în strada casei lui Dumnezeu, tremurând din cauza acestui lucru şi din cauza ploii mari.
10 And Ezra the Priest stoode vp, and said vnto them, Ye haue transgressed, and haue taken strange wiues, to increase the trespasse of Israel.
Şi preotul Ezra a stat în picioare şi le-a spus: Aţi încălcat legea şi aţi luat soţii străine, ca să măriţi fărădelegea lui Israel.
11 Now therefore giue praise vnto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his will, and separate your selues from the people of the land, and from the strange wiues.
De aceea acum, mărturisiți DOMNULUI Dumnezeul părinţilor voştri şi faceţi voia lui; şi separaţi-vă de poporul ţării şi de soţiile străine.
12 And all the Congregation answered, and sayd with a loude voyce, So will we do according to thy wordes vnto vs.
Atunci toată adunarea a răspuns şi a zis cu voce tare: Precum ai spus, astfel trebuie să facem.
13 But the people are many, and it is a raynie weather, and we are not able to stande without, neither is it the worke of one day or two: for we are many that haue offended in this thing.
Dar poporul este mult şi este un timp de multă ploaie şi nu putem sta în picioare afară, nici nu este aceasta o lucrare de o zi sau două: pentru că suntem mulţi care am încălcat legea în acest lucru.
14 Let our rulers stand therefore before all the Congregation, and let all them which haue taken strange wiues in our cities, come at the time appoynted, and with them the Elders of euery citie and the Iudges thereof, til the fierce wrath of our God for this matter turne away from vs.
Să se ridice acum în picioare conducătorii noştri ai întregii adunări şi toţi câţi au luat soţii străine în cetăţile noastre să vină la timpuri hotărâte şi cu ei bătrânii fiecărei cetăţi şi judecătorii ei, până când furia înverşunată a Dumnezeului nostru pentru acest lucru se va întoarce de la noi.
15 Then were appoynted Ionathan the sonne of Asah-el, and Iahaziah the sonne of Tikuah ouer this matter, and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Leuites helped them.
Numai Ionatan fiul lui Asael şi Iahzia fiul lui Ticva au fost folosiţi în aceasta; şi Meşulam şi Şabtai levitul i-au ajutat.
16 And they of the captiuitie did so, and departed, euen Ezra the Priest, and the men that were chiefe fathers to the familie of their fathers by name, and sate downe in the first day of the tenth moneth to examine the matter.
Şi copiii captivităţii au făcut astfel. Şi preotul Ezra, cu unii dintre mai marii dintre părinţi, după casa părinţilor lor şi toţi dintre ei după numele lor, au fost separaţi şi au şezut jos în ziua întâi a lunii a zecea pentru a examina acest lucru.
17 And vntill the first day of the first moneth they were finishing the businesse with al the men that had taken strange wiues.
Şi au terminat cu toţi bărbaţii care luaseră soţii străine, până în ziua întâi a lunii întâi.
18 And of the sonnes of the Priests there were men founde, that had taken strange wiues, to wit, of the sonnes of Ieshua, the sonne of Iozadak, and of his brethren, Maaseiah, Aeliezer, and Iarib and Gedaliah.
Şi printre fiii preoţilor au fost găsiţi unii care luaseră soţii străine: mai ales, dintre fiii lui Ieşua fiul lui Ioţadac şi fraţii săi; Maaseia şi Eliezer şi Iarib şi Ghedalia.
19 And they gaue their hads, that they would put away their wiues, and they that had trespassed, gaue a ramme for their trespasse.
Şi ei şi-au dat mâinile că vor pune deoparte pe soţiile lor; şi fiind vinovaţi, ei au oferit un berbec din turmă pentru fărădelegea lor.
20 And of the sonnes of Immer, Honani, and Zebadiah.
Şi dintre fiii lui Imer: Hanani şi Zebadia.
21 And of the sonnes of Harim, Maaseiah, and Eliiah, and Shemaiah, and Iehiel, and Vzziah.
Şi dintre fiii lui Harim: Maaseia şi Ilie şi Şemaia şi Iehiel şi Ozia.
22 And of ye sonnes of Pashur, Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Iozabad, and Elasah.
Şi dintre fiii lui Paşhur: Elioenai, Maaseia, Ismael, Netaneel, Iozabad şi Eleasa.
23 And of the Leuites, Iozabad and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (which is Kelitah) Pethahiah, Iudah and Eliezer.
De asemenea dintre leviţi: Iozabad şi Şimei şi Chelaia (acelaşi este Chelita), Petahia, Iuda şi Eliezer.
24 And of the singers, Eliashib. And of the porters, Shallum, and Telem, and Vri.
Dintre cântăreţi de asemenea: Eliaşib; şi dintre portari: Şalum şi Telem şi Uri.
25 And of Israel: of the sonnes of Parosh, Ramiah, and Iesiah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchiiah, and Benaiah.
Mai mult, din Israel; dintre fiii lui Pareoş: Ramia şi Iziia şi Malchia şi Miiamin şi Eleazar şi Malchia şi Benaia.
26 And of the sonnes of Elam, Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Iehiel, and Abdi, and Ieremoth, and Eliah.
Şi dintre fiii lui Elam: Matania, Zaharia şi Iehiel şi Abdi şi Ierimot şi Ilie.
27 And of the sonnes of Zattu, Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Ierimoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
Şi dintre fiii lui Zatu: Elioenai, Eliaşib, Matania şi Ierimot şi Zabad şi Aziza.
28 And of the sonnes of Bebai, Iehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.
Şi dintre fiii lui Bebai: Iohanan, Hanania, Zabai şi Atlai.
29 And of the sonnes of Bani, Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Iashub, and Sheal, Ieramoth.
Şi dintre fiii lui Bani: Meşulam, Maluc şi Adaia, Iaşub şi Şeal şi Ramot.
30 And of the sonnes of Pahath Moab, Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
Şi dintre fiii lui Pahat-Moab: Adna şi Chelal, Benaia, Maaseia, Matania, Beţaleel şi Binui şi Manase.
31 And of the sonnes of Harim, Eliezer, Ishiiah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
Şi dintre fiii lui Harim: Eliezer, Işia, Malchia, Şemaia, Simeon,
32 Beniamin, Malluch, Shamariah.
Beniamin, Maluc şi Şemaria.
33 Of the sonnes of Hashum, Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Ieremai, Manasseh, Shimei.
Dintre fiii lui Haşum: Matenai, Matata, Zabad, Elifelet, Ieremai, Manase şi Şimei.
34 Of the sonnes of Bani, Maadai, Amram, and Vel,
Dintre fiii lui Bani: Maadai, Amram şi Uel,
35 Banaiah, Bediah, Chelluh,
Benaia, Bedia, Cheluh,
36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
Vania, Meremot, Eliaşib,
37 Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Iaasau,
Matania, Matenai şi Iaasau,
38 And Banni, and Bennui, Shimei,
Şi Bani şi Binui, Şimei,
39 And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
Şi Şelemia şi Natan şi Adaia,
40 Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,
Macnadebai, Şaşai, Şarai,
41 Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
Azareel şi Şelemia, Şemaria,
42 Shallum, Amariah, Ioseph.

43 Of the sonnes of Nebo, Ieiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Iadau, and Ioel, Benaiah.
Dintre fiii lui Nebo: Ieiel, Matitia, Zabad, Zebina, Iadau şi Ioel, Benaia.
44 All these had taken strange wiues: and among them were women that had children.
Toţi aceştia luaseră soţii străine; şi unii dintre ei au avut soţii prin care au avut copii.
