Ezra 10
1 Whiles Ezra prayed thus, and confessed himselfe weeping, and falling downe before the house of God, there assembled vnto him of Israel a very great Congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept with a great lamentation.
E orando Esdras assim, e fazendo esta confissão, chorando, e prostrando-se diante da casa de Deus, ajuntou-se a ele de Israel uma mui grande congregação, de homens e de mulheres, e de crianças; porque o povo chorava com grande choro.
2 Then Shechaniah the sonne of Iehiel one of the sonnes of Elam answered, and sayd to Ezra, We haue trespassed against our God, and haue taken strange wiues of the people of the land, yet nowe there is hope in Israel concerning this.
Então respondeu Sechanias, filho de Jehiel, um dos filhos de Elam, e disse a Esdras: Nós temos transgredido contra o nosso Deus, e casamos com mulheres estranhas do povo da terra, mas, no tocante a isto, ainda há esperança para Israel.
3 Now therfore let vs make a couenant with our God, to put away all the wiues (and such as are borne of them) according to the counsell of the Lord, and of those that feare the commandements of our God, and let it be done according to the Lawe.
Agora pois façamos concerto com o nosso Deus de que despediremos todas as mulheres, e tudo o que é nascido delas, conforme ao conselho do Senhor, e dos que tremem ao mandado do nosso Deus; e faça-se conforme a lei.
4 Arise: for the matter belogeth vnto thee: we also wil be with thee: be of comfort and do it.
Levanta-te, pois, porque te pertence este negócio, e nós seremos contigo; esforça-te, e obra.
5 Then arose Ezra, and caused the chiefe Priestes, the Leuites, and all Israel, to sweare that they would doe according to this worde. So they sware.
Então Esdras se levantou, e ajuramentou os maiorais dos sacerdotes e dos levitas, e a todo o Israel, de que fariam conforme a esta palavra, e juraram.
6 And Ezra rose vp from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Iohanan the sonne of Eliashib: he went euen thither, but he did eate neither bread, nor drunke water: for he mourned, because of the transgression of them of the captiuitie.
E Esdras se levantou de diante da casa de Deus, e entrou na câmara de Johanan, filho de Eliasib: e, vindo lá, pão não comeu, e água não bebeu; porque estava anojado pela transgressão dos do cativeiro.
7 And they caused a proclamation to goe throughout Iudah and Ierusalem, vnto all them of the captiuitie, that they should assemble themselues vnto Ierusalem.
E fizeram passar pregão por Judá e Jerusalém, e todos os que vieram do cativeiro, para que se ajuntassem em Jerusalém.
8 And whosoeuer woulde not come within three dayes according to the counsel of the Princes and Elders, all his substance should be forfait, and he should be separate from the Congregation of them of the captiuitie.
E que todo aquele que em três dias não viesse, segundo o conselho dos príncipes e dos anciãos, toda a sua fazenda se poria em interdito, e ele seria separado da congregação dos do cativeiro.
9 Then all the men of Iudah and Beniamin assembled theselues vnto Ierusalem within three dayes, which was the twentieth day of the ninth moneth, and all the people sate in the streete of the house of God, trembling for this matter, and for the raine.
Então todos os homens de Judá e Benjamin em três dias se ajuntaram em Jerusalém: era o nono mes, no dia vinte do mes: e todo o povo se assentou na praça da casa de Deus, tremendo por este negócio e por causa das grandes chuvas.
10 And Ezra the Priest stoode vp, and said vnto them, Ye haue transgressed, and haue taken strange wiues, to increase the trespasse of Israel.
Então se levantou Esdras, o sacerdote, e disse-lhes: Vós tendes transgredido, e casastes com mulheres estranhas, multiplicando o delito de Israel.
11 Now therefore giue praise vnto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his will, and separate your selues from the people of the land, and from the strange wiues.
Agora pois fazei confissão ao Senhor Deus de vossos pais; e fazei a sua vontade; e apartai-vos dos povos das terras, e das mulheres estranhas.
12 And all the Congregation answered, and sayd with a loude voyce, So will we do according to thy wordes vnto vs.
E respondeu toda a congregação, e disseram em altas vozes: Assim seja, conforme às tuas palavras nos convém fazer.
13 But the people are many, and it is a raynie weather, and we are not able to stande without, neither is it the worke of one day or two: for we are many that haue offended in this thing.
Porém o povo é muito, e também é tempo de grandes chuvas, e não se pode estar aqui fora: nem é obra dum dia nem de dois, porque somos muitos os que transgredimos neste negócio.
14 Let our rulers stand therefore before all the Congregation, and let all them which haue taken strange wiues in our cities, come at the time appoynted, and with them the Elders of euery citie and the Iudges thereof, til the fierce wrath of our God for this matter turne away from vs.
Ora ponham-se os nossos príncipes, por toda a congregação sobre este negócio; e todos os que em nossas cidades casaram com mulheres estranhas venham em tempos apontados, e com eles os anciãos de cada cidade, e os seus juízes, até que desviemos de nós o ardor da ira do nosso Deus, por esta causa.
15 Then were appoynted Ionathan the sonne of Asah-el, and Iahaziah the sonne of Tikuah ouer this matter, and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Leuites helped them.
Porém somente Jonathan, filho de Asael, e Jehazias, filho de Tikva, se puseram sobre este negócio: e Mesullam, e Sabbethai, levita, os ajudaram.
16 And they of the captiuitie did so, and departed, euen Ezra the Priest, and the men that were chiefe fathers to the familie of their fathers by name, and sate downe in the first day of the tenth moneth to examine the matter.
E assim o fizeram os que tornaram do cativeiro: e apartaram-se o sacerdote Esdras e os homens, cabeças dos pais, segundo a casa de seus pais, e todos pelos seus nomes; e assentaram-se no primeiro dia do décimo mes, para inquirirem neste negócio.
17 And vntill the first day of the first moneth they were finishing the businesse with al the men that had taken strange wiues.
E acabaram-no com todos os homens que casaram com mulheres estranhas, até ao primeiro dia do primeiro mês.
18 And of the sonnes of the Priests there were men founde, that had taken strange wiues, to wit, of the sonnes of Ieshua, the sonne of Iozadak, and of his brethren, Maaseiah, Aeliezer, and Iarib and Gedaliah.
E acharam-se dos filhos dos sacerdotes que casaram com mulheres estranhas: dos filhos de Josué, filho de Josadak, e seus irmãos, Maaseias, e Eliezer, e Jarib, e Gadalias.
19 And they gaue their hads, that they would put away their wiues, and they that had trespassed, gaue a ramme for their trespasse.
E deram a sua mão de que despediriam suas mulheres: e, achando-se culpados, ofereceram um carneiro do rebanho pelo seu delito.
20 And of the sonnes of Immer, Honani, and Zebadiah.
E dos filhos de Immer: Hanani, e Zabadias.
21 And of the sonnes of Harim, Maaseiah, and Eliiah, and Shemaiah, and Iehiel, and Vzziah.
E dos filhos de Harim: Maaseias, e Elias, e Semaias, e Jehiel, e Uzias.
22 And of ye sonnes of Pashur, Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Iozabad, and Elasah.
E dos filhos de Pashur: Elioenai, Maseias, Ishmael, Nathanel, Jozabad, e Elasa.
23 And of the Leuites, Iozabad and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (which is Kelitah) Pethahiah, Iudah and Eliezer.
E dos levitas: Jozabad, e Simei, e Kelaias (este é Kelitas), Pethahias, Judá, e Eliezer.
24 And of the singers, Eliashib. And of the porters, Shallum, and Telem, and Vri.
E dos cantores: Eliasib: e dos porteiros: Sallum, e Telem, e Uri.
25 And of Israel: of the sonnes of Parosh, Ramiah, and Iesiah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchiiah, and Benaiah.
E de Israel, dos filhos de Paros: Ramias, e Jezias, e Malchias, e Miamin, e Eleazer, e Malchias, e Benaias.
26 And of the sonnes of Elam, Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Iehiel, and Abdi, and Ieremoth, and Eliah.
E dos filhos de Elam: Matthanias, Zacarias, e Jehiel, e Abdi, e Jeremoth, e Elias.
27 And of the sonnes of Zattu, Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Ierimoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
E dos filhos de Zattu: Elioenai Eliasib, Matthanias, e Jeremoth, e Zabad, e Aziza.
28 And of the sonnes of Bebai, Iehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.
E dos filhos de Bebai: Johanan, Hananias, Zabbai, Athlai.
29 And of the sonnes of Bani, Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Iashub, and Sheal, Ieramoth.
E dos filhos de Bani: Mesullam, Malluch, e Adaias, Jasub, e Seal, Jeremoth.
30 And of the sonnes of Pahath Moab, Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
E dos filhos de Pahath-moab: Adna, e Chelal, Benaias, Maseias, Matthanias, Besaleel, e Binnui, e Manasseh.
31 And of the sonnes of Harim, Eliezer, Ishiiah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
E dos filhos de Harim: Eliezer, Jesias, Malchias, Semaias, Simeão,
32 Beniamin, Malluch, Shamariah.
Benjamin, Malluch, Semarias.
33 Of the sonnes of Hashum, Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Ieremai, Manasseh, Shimei.
Dos filhos de Hasum: Mathnai, Matthattha, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, Simei.
34 Of the sonnes of Bani, Maadai, Amram, and Vel,
Dos filhos de Bani: Maadai, Amram, e Uel,
35 Banaiah, Bediah, Chelluh,
Benaias, Bedias, Cheluhi,
36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
Vanias, Meremoth, Eliasib,
37 Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Iaasau,
Matthanias, Mathnai, e Jaasai,
38 And Banni, and Bennui, Shimei,
E Bani, e Binnui, Simei,
39 And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
E Selemias, e Nathan, e Adaias,
40 Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,
Machnadbai, Sasai, Sarai,
41 Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
Azareel, e Selemias, Semarias,
42 Shallum, Amariah, Ioseph.
Sallum, Amarias, José.
43 Of the sonnes of Nebo, Ieiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Iadau, and Ioel, Benaiah.
Dos filhos de Nebo: Jeiel, Mattithias, Zabad, Zebina, Jaddai, Joel, e Benaias.
44 All these had taken strange wiues: and among them were women that had children.
Todos estes tomaram mulheres estranhas: e alguns deles tinham mulheres de quem alcançaram filhos.
