Ezra 10
1 Whiles Ezra prayed thus, and confessed himselfe weeping, and falling downe before the house of God, there assembled vnto him of Israel a very great Congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept with a great lamentation.
Awo Ezera bwe yali ng’asaba, ng’ayatula ebibi mu lwatu, ng’akaaba, era ng’avunnamye mu maaso g’ennyumba ya Katonda, ekibiina ekinene eky’Abayisirayiri, abasajja, n’abakyala, n’abaana ne bakuŋŋaana gy’ali, nabo nga bakaaba nnyo nnyini.
2 Then Shechaniah the sonne of Iehiel one of the sonnes of Elam answered, and sayd to Ezra, We haue trespassed against our God, and haue taken strange wiues of the people of the land, yet nowe there is hope in Israel concerning this.
Awo Sekaniya mutabani wa Yekyeri, omu ku bazzukulu ba Eramu n’agamba Ezera nti, “Tetubadde beesigwa eri Katonda waffe, kubanga twawasa abakazi bannaggwanga ab’oku mawanga agatwetoolodde. Naye newaakubadde nga twakola bwe tutyo, wakyaliwo essuubi eri Isirayiri.
3 Now therfore let vs make a couenant with our God, to put away all the wiues (and such as are borne of them) according to the counsell of the Lord, and of those that feare the commandements of our God, and let it be done according to the Lawe.
Noolwekyo tukole endagaano ne Katonda waffe tuve ku bakazi abo bonna n’abaana be twabazaalamu, ng’okuteesa kwa mukama wange n’abo abatya ebiragiro bya Katonda waffe bwe kuli, era kikolebwe ng’etteeka bwe litulagira.
4 Arise: for the matter belogeth vnto thee: we also wil be with thee: be of comfort and do it.
Golokoka kubanga obuvunaanyizibwa obwo buli mu mukono gwo era tuli beeteefuteefu okukuwagira, noolwekyo guma omwoyo okikole.”
5 Then arose Ezra, and caused the chiefe Priestes, the Leuites, and all Israel, to sweare that they would doe according to this worde. So they sware.
Awo Ezera n’agolokoka n’alayiza bakabona abakulu n’Abaleevi ne Isirayiri yenna okukola nga bwe kyateesebwa. Ne balayira.
6 And Ezra rose vp from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Iohanan the sonne of Eliashib: he went euen thither, but he did eate neither bread, nor drunke water: for he mourned, because of the transgression of them of the captiuitie.
Ezera n’agolokoka n’ava mu maaso g’ennyumba ya Katonda n’agenda mu kisenge kya Yekokanani mutabani wa Eriyasibu, naye n’atalya mmere newaakubadde okunywa amazzi ng’akyanakuwalidde obutali bwesigwa bw’abaawaŋŋangusibwa.
7 And they caused a proclamation to goe throughout Iudah and Ierusalem, vnto all them of the captiuitie, that they should assemble themselues vnto Ierusalem.
Awo ekirango ne kiyisibwa mu Yuda yonna ne mu Yerusaalemi nti abawaŋŋangusibwa abaakomawo bakuŋŋaanire mu Yerusaalemi.
8 And whosoeuer woulde not come within three dayes according to the counsel of the Princes and Elders, all his substance should be forfait, and he should be separate from the Congregation of them of the captiuitie.
Era ne kigambibwa nti omuntu yenna aliba tazze mu nnaku ssatu, alifiirwa ebintu bye byonna, ate n’agobebwa ne mu kuŋŋaaniro lya baawaŋŋangusibwa.
9 Then all the men of Iudah and Beniamin assembled theselues vnto Ierusalem within three dayes, which was the twentieth day of the ninth moneth, and all the people sate in the streete of the house of God, trembling for this matter, and for the raine.
Mu nnaku ssatu, abasajja bonna aba Yuda ne Benyamini ne bakuŋŋaanira e Yerusaalemi. Awo ku lunaku olw’amakumi abiri olw’omwezi ogw’omwenda abantu bonna ne batuula mu luggya olugazi mu maaso g’ennyumba ya Katonda nga banakuwavu olw’ensonga eyo ate era n’olw’enkuba eyatonnya.
10 And Ezra the Priest stoode vp, and said vnto them, Ye haue transgressed, and haue taken strange wiues, to increase the trespasse of Israel.
Awo Ezera kabona n’ayimirira n’abagamba nti, “Mwayonoona bwe mwawasa abakazi bannamawanga ne mwongera ku musango gwa Isirayiri.
11 Now therefore giue praise vnto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his will, and separate your selues from the people of the land, and from the strange wiues.
Kaakano mwatule ebibi byammwe eri Mukama Katonda wa bajjajjammwe, mukole ebyo by’asiima. Mweyawule ku mawanga agabeetoolodde era muleke n’abakazi bannamawanga.”
12 And all the Congregation answered, and sayd with a loude voyce, So will we do according to thy wordes vnto vs.
Awo ekibiina kyonna ne kiddamu n’eddoboozi ery’omwanguka nti, “Oli mutuufu, tuteekwa okukola nga bw’ogambye.
13 But the people are many, and it is a raynie weather, and we are not able to stande without, neither is it the worke of one day or two: for we are many that haue offended in this thing.
Naye abantu bangi, era n’ekiseera kya nkuba, tetuyinza kuyimirira bweru. N’ensonga eyookubiri, omulimu guno teguyinza kukolebwa mu lunaku lumu oba mu nnaku bbiri, kubanga twonoonye nnyo nnyini mu kigambo ekyo.
14 Let our rulers stand therefore before all the Congregation, and let all them which haue taken strange wiues in our cities, come at the time appoynted, and with them the Elders of euery citie and the Iudges thereof, til the fierce wrath of our God for this matter turne away from vs.
Abakulu baffe beeyimirire olukuŋŋaana lwonna, na buli muntu awamu n’abakadde n’abalamuzi aba buli kibuga mu bibuga byaffe eyawasa omukazi omunnaggwanga, ajje mu kiseera ekiragaane alongoose ensonga eyo, okutuusa obusungu bwa Katonda waffe lwe bulituvaako olw’ekigambo ekyo.”
15 Then were appoynted Ionathan the sonne of Asah-el, and Iahaziah the sonne of Tikuah ouer this matter, and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Leuites helped them.
Yonasaani mutabani wa Asakeri ne Yozeya mutabani wa Tikuva, nga bawagirwa Mesullamu ne Sabbesayi Omuleevi be bokka abawakanya ekiteeso ekyo.
16 And they of the captiuitie did so, and departed, euen Ezra the Priest, and the men that were chiefe fathers to the familie of their fathers by name, and sate downe in the first day of the tenth moneth to examine the matter.
Awo abaava mu buwaŋŋanguse ne bakola ng’ekiteeso bwe kyali. Ezera kabona n’abaalondebwa ku bakulu b’ennyumba, omu mu buli nnyumba ne baawulibwa mu mannya gaabwe. Ku lunaku olw’olubereberye olw’omwezi ogw’ekkumi ne batuula okunoonyereza ku bigambo ebyo;
17 And vntill the first day of the first moneth they were finishing the businesse with al the men that had taken strange wiues.
ku lunaku olw’olubereberye olw’omwezi ogw’olubereberye ne bamaliriza ensonga eyo ey’abasajja bonna abaali bawasizza abakazi abannamawanga.
18 And of the sonnes of the Priests there were men founde, that had taken strange wiues, to wit, of the sonnes of Ieshua, the sonne of Iozadak, and of his brethren, Maaseiah, Aeliezer, and Iarib and Gedaliah.
Mu lulyo olwa bakabona, abaali bawasizza abakazi bannamawanga baali: Maaseya, ne Eryeza ne Yalibu ne Gedaliya bazzukulu ba Yesuwa mutabani wa Yozadaki ne baganda be.
19 And they gaue their hads, that they would put away their wiues, and they that had trespassed, gaue a ramme for their trespasse.
Ne bamalirira okulekayo bakazi baabwe abo, n’omutango gwe baawaayo olw’omusango gwali ndiga nnume.
20 And of the sonnes of Immer, Honani, and Zebadiah.
Ku bazzukulu ba Immeri: Kanani ne Zebadiya.
21 And of the sonnes of Harim, Maaseiah, and Eliiah, and Shemaiah, and Iehiel, and Vzziah.
Ku bazzukulu ba Kalimu: Maaseya, ne Eriya, ne Semaaya, ne Yekyeri ne Uzziya.
22 And of ye sonnes of Pashur, Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethaneel, Iozabad, and Elasah.
Ku bazzukulu ba Pasukuli: Eriwenayi, ne Maaseya, ne Isimayiri, ne Nesaneri, ne Yozabadi ne Erasa.
23 And of the Leuites, Iozabad and Shimei, and Kelaiah, (which is Kelitah) Pethahiah, Iudah and Eliezer.
Ku Baleevi: Yozabadi, ne Simeeyi, ne Keraya (era ye Kerita), ne Pesakiya, ne Yuda ne Eryeza.
24 And of the singers, Eliashib. And of the porters, Shallum, and Telem, and Vri.
Ku bayimbi: Eriyasibu, ne ku baakuumanga wankaaki: Sallumu, ne Teremu ne Uli.
25 And of Israel: of the sonnes of Parosh, Ramiah, and Iesiah, and Malchiah, and Miamin, and Eleazar, and Malchiiah, and Benaiah.
Mu Bayisirayiri abalala: Ku bazzukulu ba Palosi: Lamiya, ne Izziya, ne Malukiya, ne Miyamini, ne Eriyazaali, ne Malukiya ne Benaya.
26 And of the sonnes of Elam, Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Iehiel, and Abdi, and Ieremoth, and Eliah.
Ku bazzukulu ba Eramu: Mattaniya, ne Zekkaliya, ne Yekyeri, ne Abudi, ne Yeremoosi ne Eriya.
27 And of the sonnes of Zattu, Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Ierimoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.
Ku bazzukulu ba Zattu: Eriwenayi, ne Eriyasibu, ne Mattaniya, ne Yeremoosi, ne Zabadi, ne Aziza.
28 And of the sonnes of Bebai, Iehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.
Ku bazzukulu ba Bebayi: Yekokanani, ne Kananiya, ne Zabbayi ne Asulaayi.
29 And of the sonnes of Bani, Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Iashub, and Sheal, Ieramoth.
Ku bazzukulu ba Bani: Mesullamu, ne Malluki, ne Adaya, ne Yasubu, ne Seyaali ne Yeremoosi.
30 And of the sonnes of Pahath Moab, Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezaleel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.
Ku bazzukulu ba Pakasumowaabu: Aduna, ne Kerali, ne Benaya, ne Maaseya, ne Mattaniya, ne Bezaleeri, ne Binnuyi ne Manase.
31 And of the sonnes of Harim, Eliezer, Ishiiah, Malchiah, Shemaiah, Shimeon,
Ku bazzukulu ba Kalimu: Eryeza, ne Isusiya, ne Malukiya, ne Semaaya, ne Simyoni,
32 Beniamin, Malluch, Shamariah.
ne Benyamini, ne Malluki, ne Semaliya.
33 Of the sonnes of Hashum, Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Ieremai, Manasseh, Shimei.
Ku bazzukulu ba Kasumu: Mattenayi, ne Mattata, ne Zabadi, ne Erifereti, ne Yeremayi, ne Manase, ne Simeeyi.
34 Of the sonnes of Bani, Maadai, Amram, and Vel,
Ku bazzukulu ba Baani: Maadayi, ne Amulaamu, ne Uweri,
35 Banaiah, Bediah, Chelluh,
ne Benaya, ne Bedeya, ne Keruki,
36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib,
ne Vaniya, ne Meremoosi, ne Eriyasibu,
37 Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Iaasau,
ne Mattaniya, ne Mattenayi, ne Yaasu,
38 And Banni, and Bennui, Shimei,
ne Bani, ne Binnuyi, ne Simeeyi,
39 And Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah,
ne Seremiya, ne Nasani, ne Adaya,
40 Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai,
ne Makunadebayi, ne Sasayi, ne Salaayi,
41 Azareel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah,
ne Azaleri, ne Seremiya, ne Semaliya,
42 Shallum, Amariah, Ioseph.
ne Sallumu, ne Amaliya ne Yusufu.
43 Of the sonnes of Nebo, Ieiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Iadau, and Ioel, Benaiah.
Ku bazzukulu ba Nebo: Yeyeri, ne Mattisiya, ne Zabadi, ne Zebina, ne Iddo, ne Yoweeri ne Benaya.
44 All these had taken strange wiues: and among them were women that had children.
Abo bonna baali bawasizza abakazi bannamawanga, n’abamu ku bo nga babazaddemu abaana.
