Ezekiel 40
1 In the fiue and twentieth yeere of our being in captiuitie, in the beginning of the yeere, in the tenth day of the moneth, in the fourteenth yeere after that the citie was smitten, in the selfe same day, the hande of the Lord was vpon mee, and brought me thither.
La vingt-cinquième année de notre exil, au commence—ment de l’année, le dix du mois, quatorze ans après la ruine de la ville, en ce même jour, la main de l’Eternel se posa sur moi, et il me transporta là-bas.
2 Into the lande of Israel brought he me by a diuine vision, and set me vpon a very hie mountaine, whereupon was as the building of a citie, toward the South.
Dans des visions divines, il me transporta au pays d’Israël et me déposa sur une très haute montagne, sur laquelle se montrait vers le Midi comme une bâtisse de ville.
3 And he brought me thither, and beholde, there was a man, whose similitude was to looke to, like brasse, with a linnen thread in his hand, and a reede to measure with: and he stoode at the gate.
II m’y amena, et voici il y avait là un homme, dont l’aspect était pareil à l’aspect de l’airain, avec un cordeau de lin dans la main et une canne à mesurer. Il se tenait debout près de la porte.
4 And the man said vnto me, Sonne of man, beholde with thine eyes, and heare with thine eares, and set thine heart vpon all that I shall shew thee: for to the intent, that they might be shewed thee, art thou brought hither: declare al that thou seest, vnto the house of Israel.
L’Homme m’adressa ces paroles: "Fils de l’homme, regarde de tes yeux, de tes oreilles écoute, et prête ton attention à tout ce que je vais te montrer; car c’est pour te faire tout voir qu’on t’a amené ici. Rapporte tout ce que tu vas voir à la maison d’Israël.
5 And beholde, I sawe a wall on the outside of the house round about: and in the mans hand was a reede to measure with, of sixe cubites long, by the cubite, and an hand breadth: so he measured the breadth of the buylding with one reede, and the height with one reede.
Or, voici, un mur régnait à l’extérieur de l’édifice tout autour. La main de l’homme tenait une canne à mesurer de six coudées, chaque coudée augmentée d’une palme; il mesura la largeur de la construction, qui était d’une canne, et sa hauteur, également d’une canne.
6 Then came he vnto the gate, which looketh towarde the East, and went vp the stayres thereof, and measured the poste of the gate, which was one reede broade, and the other poste of the gate, which was one reede broade.
Ensuite, il entra par une porte qui regardait vers l’Est, en monta les degrés et mesura le seuil de la porte, large d’une canne: le seuil, en lui-même, mesurait une canne en largeur.
7 And euery chamber was one reede long, and one reede broad, and betweene the chambers were fiue cubites: and the post of the gate by the porch of the gate within was one reede.
Puis, la loge de service mesurait une longueur d’une canne et une largeur d’une canne, et entre les loges de service il y avait un intervalle de cinq coudées. Le seuil de la porte près du vestibule de la porte à l’intérieur mesurait une canne.
8 He measured also the porche of the gate within with one reede.
II mesura le vestibule de la porte, à l’intérieur; il était d’une canne.
9 Then measured he the porch of the gate of eight cubites, and the postes thereof, of two cubites, and the porch of the gate was inward.
Il mesura le vestibule de la porte, huit coudées, et les pilastres, deux coudées: le vestibule de la porte était à l’intérieur.
10 And the chambers of the gate Eastwarde, were three on this side, and three on that side: they three were of one measure, and the postes had one measure on this side, and one on that side.
Les loges de service de la porte du côté oriental étaient au nombre de trois d’un côté et de trois de l’autre côté. Toutes trois avaient même mesure, pareillement les pilastres avaient même mesure de part et d’autre.
11 And he measured the breadth of the entrie of the gate ten cubites, and the height of the gate thirteene cubites.
Il mesura la largeur de la baie de la porte: dix coudées; la longueur de la porte: treize coudées.
12 The space also before the chambers was one cubite on this side, and the space was one cubite on that side, and the chambers were sixe cubites on this side and sixe cubites on that side.
Et devant les loges de service il y avait une barrière d’une coudée d’un côté et une barrière d’une coudée de l’autre. Quant à la loge, elle avait six coudées d’un côté et six coudées de l’autre.
13 He measured then the gate from the roufe of a chamber to the toppe of the gate: the breadth was fiue and twentie cubites, doore against doore.
Il mesura la porte depuis le toit d’une loge jusqu’à l’autre toit du côté opposé, vingt-cinq coudées de large, une entrée faisant face à l’autre.
14 He made also postes of threescore cubites, and the postes of the court, and of the gate had one measure round about.
Il donna aux pilastres soixante coudées, et ainsi de chaque pilastre du parvis, pour chaque porte tout autour.
15 And vpon the forefront of the entry of the gate vnto the forefront of the porch of the gate within were fiftie cubites.
Et depuis le front de la porte d’accès jusqu’au front du vestibule intérieur de la porte, cinquante coudées.
16 And there were narrowe windowes in the chambers, and in their postes within the gate round about, and likewise to the arches: and the windowes went rounde about within: and vpon the postes were palme trees.
Il y avait des fenêtres grillagées aux loges de service et aux pilastres de l’intérieur de la porte tout autour; de même le vestibule avait des fenêtres à l’intérieur tout autour, et sur les piliers il y avait des palmes.
17 Then brought he me into the outwarde court, and lo, there were chambers, and a pauement made for the court round about, and thirtie chambers were vpon the pauement.
Puis il m’amena dans le parvis extérieur: là se trouvaient des salles et un dallage disposé tout autour du parvis, trente salles donnaient sur le dallage.
18 And the pauement was by the side of the gates ouer against the length of the gates, and the pauement was beneath.
Et le dallage s’étendait du côté des portes, parallèlement à la longueur des portes: c’était le dallage inférieur.
19 Then hee measured the breadth from the forefront of the lower gate without, vnto the forefront of the court within, an hundreth cubits Eastward and Northward.
Il mesura la largeur du parvis extérieur depuis le front de la porte inférieure jusqu’au front du parvis intérieur, au dehors: cent coudées du côté de l’Est et du Nord.
20 And the gate of the outwarde court, that looked toward the North, measured he after the length and breadth thereof.
Quant à la porte qui regardait du côté du Nord, dans le parvis extérieur, il en mesura la longueur et la largeur.
21 And the chambers thereof were, three on this side, and three on that side, and the postes thereof and the arches thereof were after the measure of the first gate: the length thereof was fiftie cubites, and the breadth fiue and twentie cubites.
Ses loges au nombre de trois d’un côté et de l’autre, ses pilastres et son vestibule avaient les mesures de la première porte: cinquante coudées de long et vingt-cinq coudées de large.
22 And their windowes, and their arches with their palme trees, were after the measure of the gate that looketh toward the East, and the going vp vnto it had seuen steppes, and the arches therof were before them.
Et ses fenêtres, ses vestibules et ses palmes avaient les mêmes dimensions qu’a la porte tournée vers l’Est. On y montait par sept degrés, avec des vestibules devant eux.
23 And the gate of the inner court stoode ouer against the gate towarde the North, and towarde the East, and hee measured from gate to gate an hundreth cubites.
Et le parvis intérieur avait une porte faisant face à la porte du Nord comme à celle de l’Est: il mesura d’une porte à l’autre, cent coudées.
24 After that, he brought mee towarde the South, and loe, there was a gate towarde the South, and hee measured the postes thereof, and the arches thereof according to these measures.
Ensuite, il me conduisit du côté du Sud, et il y avait dans la direction du Sud une porte, dont il mesura les pilastres, les vestibules ayant les dimensions précédentes.
25 And there were windowes in it, and in the arches thereof round about, like those windowes: the height was fiftie cubites, and the breadth fiue and twentie cubites.
Elle avait, de—même que ses vestibules, des fenêtres tout autour, pareilles aux fenêtres précédentes; elle avait cinquante coudées de long et en largeur vingt-cinq coudées.
26 And there were seuen steps to go vp to it, and the arches thereof were before them: and it had palme trees, one on this side, and another on that side vpon the post thereof.
On y montait par sept degrés, avec des vestibules devant eux; des palmes se trouvaient d’un côté et de l’autre sur ses pilastres.
27 And there was a gate in the inner court towarde the South, and he measured from gate to gate towarde the South an hundreth cubites.
Et il y avait une porte conduisant au parvis intérieur dans la direction Sud: il mesura d’une porte à l’autre porte du côté du Sud, cent coudées.
28 And he brought me into the inner court by the South gate, and he measured the South gate according to these measures,
Puis il m’introduisit dans le parvis intérieur par la porte du Sud, et il mesura la porte du Sud selon les dimensions déjà indiquées.
29 And the chambers thereof, and the postes thereof, and the arches thereof according to these measures, and there were windowes in it, and in the arches thereof rounde about, it was fiftie cubites long and fiue and twentie cubites broade.
Ses loges, ses pilastres et son vestibule avaient également ces dimensions: elle avait, ainsi que son vestibule, des fenêtres tout autour. Sa longueur était de cinquante coudées et sa largeur de vingt-cinq coudées.
30 And the arches round about were fiue and twenty cubites long, and fiue cubites broad.
Il y avait des vestibules tout autour, de vingt-cinq coudées de long et de cinq coudées de large.
31 And the arches thereof were towarde the vtter court, and palme trees were vpon the postes thereof, and the going vp to it had eight steppes.
Son vestibule donnait dans le parvis extérieur, il y avait des palmes sur ses pilastres, et il était précédé d’un escalier de huit degrés.
32 Againe he brought me into ye inner court toward the East, and he measured the gate according to these measures.
Il m’introduisit dans le parvis intérieur dans la direction de l’Est et mesura la porte, qui avait les dimensions indiquées.
33 And the chambers thereof, and the postes thereof, and the arches thereof were according to these measures, and there were windowes therein, and in the arches thereof round about, it was fiftie cubites long, and fiue and twentie cubites broade.
Ses loges, ses pilastres et son vestibule avaient également ces dimensions; elle avait, ainsi que son vestibule, des fenêtres tout autour. Sa longueur était de cinquante coudées et sa largeur de vingt-cinq coudées.
34 And the arches thereof were towarde the vtter court, and palme trees were vpon the postes thereof, on this side and on that side, and the going vp to it had eight steppes.

35 After he brought mee to the North gate, and measured it, according to these measures,
Puis il me conduisit à la porte du Nord et mesura, suivant les mêmes dimensions,
36 The chambers thereof, the postes thereof, and the arches thereof, and there were windowes therein round about: the height was fiftie cubits, and the breadth fiue and twentie cubites.
ses loges, ses pilastres et son vestibule; elle avait des fenêtres tout autour. Sa longueur était de cinquante coudées et sa largeur de cinquante coudées.
37 And the postes thereof were towarde the vtter court, and palme trees were vpon the postes thereof on this side, and on that side, and the going vp to it had eight steps.
Son vestibule donnait sur le parvis extérieur; il y avait des palmes sur ses pilastres d’un côté et de l’autre, et il était précédé d’un escalier de huit degrés.
38 And euery chamber, and the entrie thereof was vnder the postes of the gates: there they washed the burnt offring.
Et il y avait une salle, dont l’entrée donnait sur le vestibule de la porte orientale; là on devait laver les holocaustes.
39 And in the porch of the gate stoode two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, vpon the which they slew the burnt offring, and the sinne offring, and the trespas offring.
Dans le vestibule de la même porte se trouvaient deux tables d’un côté et deux tables de l’autre côté, pour y immoler les holocaustes, les sacrifices expiatoires et les délictifs.
40 And at the side beyond the steppes, at the entry of the North gate stoode two tables, and on the other side, which was at the porch of the gate were two tables.
Et du côté extérieur qui longe l’entrée de la porte, dans la direction du Nord, il y avait deux tables; de même du côté opposé qui longe le vestibule de la porte il y avait deux tables.
41 Foure tables were on this side, and foure tables on that side by the side of the gate, euen eight tables whereupon they slew their sacrifice.
Donc quatre tables d’une part et quatre tables d’autre part aux côtés de la porte: huit tables sur lesquelles on devait immoler les sacrifices.
42 And the foure tables were of hewen stone for the burnt offering, of a cubite and an halfe long, and a cubite and an halfe broade, and one cubite hie: whereupon also they layde the instruments wherewith they slew the burnt offring and the sacrifice.
Il y avait, en outre, quatre tables pour les sacrifices, en pierre de taille, longues d’une coudée et demie, larges d’une coudée et demie et hautes d’une coudée, où l’on devait déposer les instruments servant à immoler holocaustes et autres victimes.
43 And within were borders an hand broade, fastened round about, and vpon the tables lay the flesh of the offring.
Et des crochets d’une palme étaient fixés à la bâtisse tout autour, et sur les tables devait être déposée la chair des sacrifices.
44 And without the inner gate were ye chambers of the singers in the inner Court, which was at the side of the North gate: and their prospect was towarde the South, and one was at the side of the East gate, hauing the prospect towarde the North.
En dehors de la porte intérieure étaient des salles pour les chanteurs dans le parvis intérieur, l’une longeant le côté de la porte du Nord et regardant vers le Sud, l’autre longeant le côté de la porte de l’Est et regardant vers le Nord.
45 And he said vnto me, This chamber whose prospect is towarde the South, is for the Priestes that haue the charge to keepe the house.
II me dit: "Cette salle qui regarde vers le Sud est pour les prêtres chargés du service du temple,
46 And the chamber whose prospect is toward the North, is for the Priestes that haue the charge to keepe the altar: these are the sonnes of Zadok among ye sonnes of Leui which may come neere to the Lord to minister vnto him.
et la salle qui regarde vers le Nord est pour les prêtres chargés du service de l’autel: ce sont les fils de Çadok qui, parmi les descendants de Lévi, s’approchent de l’Eternel pour le servir."
47 So he measured the court, an hundreth cubites long, and an hundreth cubits broad, eue foure square: likewise the altar that was before ye house.
Puis il mesura le parvis, long de cent coudées et large de cent coudées, en forme de carré; et l’autel se trouvait en avant du temple.
48 And hee brought mee to the porch of the house, and measured the postes of the porch, fiue cubites on this side, and fiue cubites on that side: and the breadth of the gate was three cubites on this side, and three cubites on that side.
Puis il m’introduisit dans le vestibule du temple, et il mesura les pilastres du vestibule, cinq coudées d’un côté et cinq coudées de l’autre, et la largeur de la porte, trois coudées d’un côté et trois de l’autre.
49 The length of the porch was twentie cubites, and ye breadth eleuen cubites, and he brought me by the steps whereby they went vp to it, and there were pillars by the postes, one on this side, and another on that side.
La longueur du vestibule était de vingt coudées, la largeur de onze coudées, avec des degrés pour y monter; et des colonnes étaient adossées aux pilastres, l’une d’un côté et l’autre de l’autre.
