Ezekiel 37
1 The hand of the Lord was vpon me, and caryed me out in ye spirit of ye Lord, and set me downe in ye mids of the field, which was full of bones.
La main de Yahweh fut sur moi, et Yahweh me fit sortir en esprit et me plaça au milieu de la plaine, et elle était couverte d’ossements.
2 And he led me round about by them, and beholde, they were very many in the open fielde, and lo, they were very drie.
Il me fit passer près d’eux, tout autour; ils étaient en très grand nombre sur la face de la plaine, et voici qu’ils étaient tout à fait desséchés.
3 And he sayde vnto me, Sonne of man, can these bones liue? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
Et il me dit: « Fils de l’homme, ces ossements revivront-ils? » Je répondis: « Seigneur Yahweh, tu le sais. »
4 Againe he sayde vnto me, Prophecie vpon these bones and say vnto them, O ye dry bones, heare the word of the Lord.
Il me dit: « Prophétise sur ces ossements et dis-leur: Ossements desséchés, entendez la parole de Yahweh!
5 Thus saith the Lord God vnto these bones, Behold, I wil cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall liue.
Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh à ces ossements: Voici que je vais faire entrer en vous l’esprit, et vous vivrez.
6 And I will lay sinewes vpon you, and make flesh growe vpon you, and couer you with skinne, and put breath in you, that ye may liue, and yee shall know that I am the Lord.
Je mettrai sur vous des muscles, je ferai croître sur vous de la chair et j’étendrai sur vous de la peau; je mettrai en vous l’esprit, et vous vivrez; et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh. »
7 So I prophecied, as I was commanded: and as I prophecied, there was a noyse, and beholde, there was a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
Je prophétisai comme j’en avais reçu l’ordre. Et comme je prophétisais, il y eut un son; puis voici un bruit retentissant, et les os se rapprochèrent les uns des autres.
8 And when I beheld, loe, the sinewes, and the flesh grewe vpon them, and aboue, the skinne couered them, but there was no breath in them.
Et je vis; et voici que des muscles et de la chair avaient crû au-dessus d’eux, et qu’une peau s’était étendue au-dessus d’eux; mais il n’y avait pas d’esprit en eux.
9 Then sayd he vnto me, Prophecie vnto the winde: prophecie, sonne of man, and say to the winde, Thus sayth the Lord God, Come from the foure windes, O breath, and breathe vpon these slayne, that they may liue.
Et il me dit: « Prophétise à l’esprit, prophétise, fils de l’homme, et dis à l’esprit: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Viens des quatre vents, esprit, et souffle sur ces hommes tués, et qu’ils vivent. »
10 So I prophecied as hee had commanded me: and the breath came into them, and they liued, and stood vp vpon their feete, an exceeding great armie.
Et je prophétisai comme il me l’avait ordonné; et l’esprit entra en eux, et ils prirent vie, et ils se tinrent sur leurs pieds: grande, très grande armée!
11 Then he sayd vnto me, Sonne of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is gone, and we are cleane cut off.
Et il me dit: « Fils de l’homme, ces ossements, c’est toute la maison d’Israël. Voici qu’ils disent: Nos os sont desséchés, notre espérance est morte, nous sommes perdus!
12 Therefore prophecie, and say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord God, Beholde, my people, I will open your graues, and cause you to come vp out of your sepulchres, and bring you into the lande of Israel,
C’est pourquoi prophétise et dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je vais ouvrir vos tombeaux, et je vous ferai remonter hors de vos tombeaux, ô mon peuple, et je vous ramènerai sur la terre d’Israël.
13 And yee shall knowe that I am the Lord, when I haue opened your graues, O my people, and brought you vp out of your sepulchres,
Et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh, quand j’ouvrirai vos tombeaux et que je vous ferai remonter hors de vos tombeaux, ô mon peuple.
14 And shall put my Spirit in you, and ye shall liue, and I shall place you in your owne land: then yee shall knowe that I the Lord haue spoken it, and performed it, sayth the Lord.
Je mettrai mon Esprit en vous, et vous vivrez; et je vous donnerai du repos sur votre sol, et vous saurez que moi, Yahweh, je dis et j’exécute, — oracle de Yahweh! »
15 The word of the Lord came againe vnto me, saying,
La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes:
16 Moreouer thou sonne of man, take thee a piece of wood, and write vpon it, Vnto Iudah, and to the children of Israel his companions the take another piece of wood, and write vpon it, Vnto Ioseph the tree of Ephraim, and to al the house of Israel his companions.
« Et toi, fils de l’homme, prends un bois et écris dessus: « À Juda et aux enfants d’Israël qui lui sont unis. » Prends un autre bois et écris dessus: « À Joseph »; ce sera le bois d’Ephraïm et de toute la maison d’Israël qui lui est unie.
17 And thou shalt ioyne the one to another into one tree, and they shalbe as one in thine hand.
Rapproche-les l’un de l’autre pour n’avoir qu’un seul bois, et qu’ils soient un dans ta main.
18 And when the children of thy people shall speake vnto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shewe vs what thou meanest by these?
Et quand les fils de ton peuple te parleront en ces termes: « Ne nous expliqueras-tu pas ce que signifient pour toi ces choses? »
19 Thou shalt answere them, Thus sayeth the Lord God, Behold, I wil take the tree of Ioseph, which is in the hande of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellowes, and will put them with him, euen with the tree of Iudah, and make them one tree, and they shalbe one in mine hand.
dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je prendrai le bois de Joseph, qui est dans la main d’Ephraïm, et les tribus d’Ephraïm qui lui sont unies et je les joindrai au bois de Juda, et j’en ferai un seul bois, et ils seront un dans ma main.
20 And the pieces of wood, whereon thou writest, shalbe in thine hand, in their sight.
Les bois sur lesquels tu écriras seront dans ta main, à leurs yeux.
21 And say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord God, Beholde, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and wil gather them on euery side, and bring them into their owne land.
Et dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Voici que je vais prendre les enfants d’Israël du milieu des nations où ils sont allés; je les rassemblerai de toutes parts et je les ramènerai sur leur sol.
22 And I will make them one people in the lande, vpon the mountaines of Israel, and one king shalbe king to them all: and they shalbe no more two peoples, neither bee deuided any more henceforth into two kingdomes.
Je ferai d’eux une seule nation dans le pays, sur les montagnes d’Israël; un seul roi régnera sur eux tous; ils ne seront plus deux nations, et ils ne seront plus séparés en deux royaumes.
23 Neither shall they bee polluted any more with their idoles, nor with their abominations, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will saue them out of all their dwelling places, wherein they haue sinned, and will clense them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
Ils ne se souilleront plus par leurs infâmes idoles, par leurs abominations et par tous leurs crimes; je les sauverai de toutes leurs rébellions par lesquelles ils ont péché, et je les purifierai; ils seront mon peuple, et je serai leur Dieu.
24 And Dauid my seruant shalbe king ouer them, and they all shall haue one shepheard: they shall also walke in my iudgements, and obserue my statutes, and doe them.
Mon serviteur David sera leur roi, et il y aura un seul pasteur pour eux tous; ils suivront mes ordonnances, ils observeront mes commandements et les mettront en pratique.
25 And they shall dwell in the lande, that I haue giuen vnto Iaakob my seruant, where your fathers haue dwelt, and they shall dwel therein, euen they, and their sonnes, and their sonnes sonnes for euer, and my seruant Dauid shall bee their prince for euer.
Et ils habiteront dans le pays que j’ai donné à mon serviteur Jacob et dans lequel ont habité leurs pères; ils y habiteront, eux et leurs enfants, et les enfants de leurs enfants, à jamais; et David, mon serviteur, sera leur prince pour toujours.
26 Moreouer, I will make a couenant of peace with them: it shall be an euerlasting couenant with them, and I wil place them, and multiply them, and wil set my Sanctuarie among them for euermore.
Et je conclurai avec eux une alliance de paix; ce sera une alliance éternelle avec eux; et je les établirai et je les multiplierai; et j’érigerai mon sanctuaire au milieu d’eux pour toujours.
27 My tabernacle also shalbe with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shalbe my people.
Mon habitation sera au dessus d’eux; je serai leur Dieu, et ils seront mon peuple.
28 Thus the heathen shall knowe, that I the Lord do sanctifie Israel, when my Sanctuarie shall be among them for euermore.
Et les nations sauront que je suis Yahweh qui sanctifie Israël, quand mon sanctuaire sera au milieu d’eux pour toujours. »
