Ezekiel 36
1 Also thou sonne of man, prophesie vnto the mountaines of Israel, and say, Ye mountaines of Israel, heare the word of the Lord.
E tu, figliuol d’uomo, profetizza ai monti d’Israele, e di’: O monti d’Israele, ascoltate la parola dell’Eterno!
2 Thus saith the Lord God, because the enemie hath sayde against you, Aha, euen the hye places of the world are ours in possession,
Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché il nemico ha detto di voi: Ah! ah! queste alture eterne son diventate nostro possesso! tu profetizza, e di’:
3 Therefore prophesie, and say, Thus sayth the Lord God, Because that they haue made you desolate, and swallowed you vp on euery side, that ye might be a possession vnto the residue of the heathen, and ye are come vnto the lippes and tongues of men, and vnto the reproch of the people,
Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Sì, poiché da tutte le parti han voluto distruggervi e inghiottirvi perché diventaste possesso del resto delle nazioni, e perché siete stati oggetto de’ discorsi delle male lingue e delle maldicenze della gente,
4 Therefore ye mountaines of Israel, heare the worde of the Lord God, Thus sayth the Lord God to the mountaines and to the hilles, to the riuers, and to the valleys, and to the waste, and desolate places, and to the cities that are forsaken: which are spoyled and had in derision of the residue of the heathen that are round about.
perciò, o monti d’Israele, ascoltate la parola del Signore, dell’Eterno! Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno, ai monti e ai colli, ai burroni ed alle valli, alle ruine desolate e alle città abbandonate, che sono state date in balìa del saccheggio e delle beffe delle altre nazioni d’ogn’intorno;
5 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Surely in the fire of mine indignation haue I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which haue taken my lande for their possession, with the ioy of all their heart, and with despitefull mindes to cast it out for a pray.
così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Sì, nel fuoco della mia gelosia, io parlo contro il resto delle altre nazioni e contro Edom tutto quanto, che hanno fatto del mio paese il loro possesso con tutta la gioia del loro cuore e con tutto lo sprezzo dell’anima loro, per ridurlo in bottino.
6 Prophesie therfore vpon the land of Israel, and say vnto the mountaines, and to the hilles, to the riuers, and to the valleys, Thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, I haue spoken in mine indignation, and in my wrath, because yee haue suffered the shame of the heathen,
Perciò, profetizza sopra la terra d’Israele, e di’ ai monti e ai colli, ai burroni ed alle valli: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Ecco, io parlo nella mia gelosia e nel mio furore, perché voi portate l’obbrobrio delle nazioni.
7 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, I haue lifted vp mine hand, surely the heathen that are about you, shall beare their shame.
Perciò, così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Io l’ho giurato! Le nazioni che vi circondano porteranno anch’esse il loro obbrobrio;
8 But you, O mountaines of Israel, yee shall shoote forth your branches, and bring foorth your fruite to my people of Israel: for they are ready to come.
ma voi, monti d’Israele, metterete i vostri rami e porterete i vostri frutti al mio popolo d’Israele, perch’egli sta per arrivare.
9 For behold, I come vnto you, and I wil turne vnto you, and ye shalbe tilled and sowen.
Poiché, ecco, io vengo a voi, mi volgerò verso voi, e voi sarete coltivati e seminati;
10 And I wil multiply the men vpon you, euen all the house of Israel wholly, and the cities shalbe inhabited, and the desolate places shalbe builded.
Io moltiplicherò su voi gli uomini, tutta quanta la casa d’Israele; le città saranno abitate, e le ruine saranno ricostruite;
11 And I wil multiply vpon you man and beast, and they shall encrease, and bring fruite, and I will cause you to dwell after your olde estate, and I will bestowe benefites vpon you more then at the first, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
moltiplicherò su voi uomini e bestie; essi moltiplicheranno e saranno fecondi, e farò sì che sarete abitati come eravate prima, e vi farò del bene più che nei vostri primi tempi; e voi conoscerete che io sono l’Eterno.
12 Yea, I wil cause men to walke vpon you, euen my people Israel, and they shall possesse you, and ye shalbe their inheritance, and ye shall no more henceforth depriue them of men.
Io farò camminar su voi degli uomini, il mio popolo d’Israele. Essi ti possederanno, o paese; tu sarai la loro eredità, e non li priverai più de’ loro figliuoli.
13 Thus sayth the Lord God, because they say vnto you, Thou land deuourest vp men, and hast bene a waster of thy people,
Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché vi si dice: Tu, o paese, hai divorato gli uomini, hai privato la tua nazioni dei suoi figliuoli,
14 Therefore thou shalt deuoure men no more, neither waste thy people henceforth, sayth the Lord God,
tu non divorerai più gli uomini, e non priverai più la tua nazione de’ suoi figliuoli, dice il Signore, l’Eterno.
15 Neither will I cause men to heare in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou beare the reproche of the people any more, neither shalt cause thy folke to fal any more, saith the Lord God.
Io non ti farò più udire gli oltraggi delle nazioni, e tu non porterai più l’obbrobrio dei popoli, e non farai più cader le tua gente, dice il Signore, l’Eterno”.
16 Moreouer the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
17 Sonne of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their owne lande, they defiled it by their owne wayes, and by their deedes: their way was before me as the filthinesse of the menstruous.
“Figliuol d’uomo, quando quelli della casa d’Israele abitavano il loro paese, lo contaminavano con la loro condotta e con le loro azioni; la loro condotta era nel mio cospetto come la immondezza della donna quand’è impura.
18 Wherfore I powred my wrath vpon them, for the blood that they had shed in the land, and for their idoles, wherewith they had polluted it.
Ond’io riversai su loro il mio furore a motivo del sangue che avevano sparso sul paese, e perché l’avevano contaminato coi loro idoli;
19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries for according to their wayes, and according to their deedes, I iudged them.
e li dispersi fra le nazioni, ed essi furono sparsi per tutti i paesi; Io li giudicai secondo la loro condotta e secondo le loro azioni.
20 And when they entred vnto the heathen, whither they went, they polluted mine holy Name, when they sayd of them, These are the people of the Lord, and are gone out of his land.
E, giunti fra le nazioni dove sono andati, hanno profanato il nome mio santo, giacché si diceva di loro: Costoro sono il popolo dell’Eterno, e sono usciti dal suo paese.
21 But I fauoured mine holy Name which the house of Israel had polluted among the heathen, whither they went.
Ed io ho avuto pietà del nome mio santo, che la casa d’Israele profanava fra le nazioni dov’è andata.
22 Therfore say vnto the house of Israel, Thus saith ye Lord God, I doe not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy Names sake, which yee polluted among the heathen whither ye went.
Perciò, di’ alla casa d’Israele: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Io agisco così, non per cagion di voi, o casa d’Israele, ma per amore del nome mio santo, che voi avete profanato fra le nazioni dove siete andati.
23 And I wil sanctifie my great Name, which was polluted among the heathen, among whome you haue polluted it, and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, sayth the Lord God, when I shalbe sanctified in you before their eyes.
E io santificherò il mio gran nome ch’è stato profanato fra le nazioni, in mezzo alle quali voi l’avete profanato; e le nazioni conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno, dice il Signore, l’Eterno, quand’io mi santificherò in voi, sotto gli occhi loro.
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your owne land.
Io vi trarrò di fra le nazioni, vi radunerò da tutti i paese, e vi ricondurrò nel vostro paese;
25 Then wil I powre cleane water vpon you, and ye shalbe cleane: yea, from all your filthines, and from all your idoles wil I clense you.
v’aspergerò d’acqua pura, e sarete puri; io vi purificherò di tutte le vostre impurità e di tutti i vostri idoli.
26 A newe heart also will I giue you, and a new spirit wil I put within you, and I will take away the stonie heart out of your body, and I will giue you an heart of flesh.
E vi darò un cuor nuovo, e metterò dentro di voi uno spirito nuovo; torrò dalla vostra carne il cuore di pietra, e vi darò un cuore di carne.
27 And I will put my spirite within you, and cause you to walke in my statutes, and ye shall keepe my iudgements and do them.
Metterò dentro di voi il mio spirito, e farò sì che camminerete secondo le mie leggi, e osserverete e metterete in pratica le mie prescrizioni.
28 And ye shall dwell in the land, that I gaue to your fathers, and ye shalbe my people, and I will be your God.
E voi abiterete nel paese ch’io detti ai vostri padri, e voi sarete mio popolo, e io sarò vostro Dio.
29 I will also deliuer you from all your filthinesse, and I will call for corne, and will increase it, and lay no famine vpon you.
Io vi libererò da tutte le vostre impurità; chiamerò il frumento, lo farò abbondare, e non manderò più contro di voi la fame;
30 For I will multiplie the fruite of the trees, and the increase of the fielde, that ye shall beare no more the reproch of famine among the heathen.
e farò moltiplicare il frutto degli alberi e il prodotto de’ campi, affinché non siate più esposti all’obbrobrio della fame tra le nazioni.
31 Then shall ye remember your owne wicked wayes, and your deedes that were not good, and shall iudge your selues worthie to haue bene destroyed for your iniquities, and for your abominations.
Allora vi ricorderete delle vostre vie malvagie e delle vostre azioni, che non eran buone, e prenderete disgusto di voi stessi a motivo delle vostre iniquità e delle vostre abominazioni.
32 Be it knowen vnto you that I do not this for your sakes, sayth the Lord God: therefore, O ye house of Israel, be ashamed, and confounded for your owne wayes.
Non è per amor di voi che agisco così, dice il Signore, l’Eterno: siavi pur noto! Vergognatevi, e siate confusi a motivo delle vostre vie, o casa d’Israele!
33 Thus sayth the Lord God, What time as I shall haue clensed you from all your iniquities, I will cause you to dwel in the cities, and the desolate places shalbe builded.
Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Il giorno che io vi purificherò di tutte le vostre iniquità, farò sì che le città saranno abitate, e le ruine saranno ricostruite;
34 And the desolate land shalbe tilled, whereas it lay waste in the sight of all that passed by.
la terra desolata sarà coltivata, invece d’essere una desolazione agli occhi di tutti i passanti;
35 For they sayd, This waste land was like the garden of Eden, and these waste and desolate and ruinous cities were strong, and were inhabited.
e si dirà: Questa terra ch’era desolata, è divenuta come il giardino d’Eden; e queste città ch’erano deserte, desolate, ruinate, sono fortificate e abitate.
36 Then the residue of the heathen that are left round about you, shall know that I the Lord builde the ruinous places, and plant the desolate places: I the Lord haue spoken it, and wil do it.
E le nazioni che saran rimaste attorno a voi conosceranno che io, l’Eterno, son quegli che ho ricostruito i luoghi ruinati, e ripiantato il luogo deserto. Io, l’Eterno, son quegli che parlo, e che mando la cosa ad effetto.
37 Thus saith the Lord God, I will yet for this be sought of ye house of Israel, to performe it vnto them: I wil encrease them with men like a flocke.
Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Anche in questo mi lascerò supplicare dalla casa d’Israele, e glielo concederò: io moltiplicherò loro gli uomini come un gregge.
38 As the holy flocke, as the flocke of Ierusalem in their solemne feastes, so shall the desolate cities be filled with flockes of men, and they shall know, that I am the Lord.
Come greggi di pecore consacrate, come greggi di Gerusalemme nelle sue feste solenni, così le città deserte saranno riempite di greggi d’uomini; e si conoscerà che io sono l’Eterno”.
