Ezekiel 35
1 Moveover the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
La parole de l’Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
2 Sonne of man, Set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesie against it,
Fils de l’homme, tourne ta face vers la montagne de Séir, Et prophétise contre elle!
3 And say vnto it, Thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, O mount Seir, I come against thee, and I wil stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee desolate and waste.
Tu lui diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Voici, j’en veux à toi, montagne de Séir! J’étends ma main sur toi, Et je fais de toi une solitude et un désert.
4 I wil lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord.
Je mettrai tes villes en ruines, Tu deviendras une solitude, Et tu sauras que je suis l’Éternel.
5 Because thou hast had a perpetuall hatred and hast put the children of Israel to flight by the force of the sword in the time of their calamitie, when their iniquitie had an ende,
Parce que tu avais une haine éternelle, Parce que tu as précipité par le glaive les enfants d’Israël, Au jour de leur détresse, Au temps où l’iniquité était à son terme,
6 Therefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil prepare thee vnto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: except thou hate blood, euen blood shall pursue thee.
Je suis vivant! Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, Je te mettrai à sang, et le sang te poursuivra; Puisque tu n’as pas haï le sang, Le sang te poursuivra.
7 Thus will I make mount Seir desolate and waste, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.
Je ferai de la montagne de Séir une solitude et un désert, Et j’en exterminerai les allants et les venants.
8 And I will fill his mountaines with his slayne men: in thine hilles, and in thy valleys and in all thy riuers shall they fall, that are slayne with the sworde.
Je remplirai de morts ses montagnes; Sur tes collines, dans tes vallées, dans tous tes ravins, Tomberont ceux qui seront frappés par l’épée.
9 I wil make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not returne, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord.
Je ferai de toi des solitudes éternelles, Tes villes ne seront plus habitées, Et vous saurez que je suis l’Éternel.
10 Because thou hast said, These two nations, and these two countreys shalbe mine, and we wil possesse them (seeing the Lord was there)
Parce que tu as dit: Les deux nations, les deux pays seront à moi, Et nous en prendrons possession, Quand même l’Éternel était là,
11 Therefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil euen do according to thy wrath, and according to thine indignation which thou hast vsed in thine hatred against them: and I wil make my selfe knowen among them whe I haue iudged thee.
Je suis vivant! Dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, J’agirai avec la colère et la fureur Que tu as montrées, dans ta haine contre eux; Et je me ferai connaître au milieu d’eux, Quand je te jugerai.
12 And thou shalt know, that I the Lord haue heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountaines of Israel, saying, They lye waste, they are giuen vs to be deuoured.
Tu sauras que moi, l’Éternel, J’ai entendu tous les outrages Que tu as proférés contre les montagnes d’Israël, En disant: Elles sont dévastées, Elles nous sont livrées comme une proie.
13 Thus with your mouthes ye haue boasted against me, and haue multiplied your words against me: I haue heard them.
Vous vous êtes élevés contre moi par vos discours, Vous avez multiplié vos paroles contre moi: J’ai entendu.
14 Thus sayth the Lord God, So shall all the world reioyce when I shall make thee desolate.
Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Lorsque tout le pays sera dans la joie, Je ferai de toi une solitude.
15 As thou diddest reioyce at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I doe vnto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea wholly, and they shall know, that I am the Lord.
A cause de la joie que tu as éprouvée Parce que l’héritage de la maison d’Israël était dévasté, Je te traiterai de la même manière; Tu deviendras une solitude, montagne de Séir, Toi, et Édom tout entier. Et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.
