Ezekiel 31
1 And in the eleuenth yeere, in the third moneth, and in the first day of the moneth the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Și s-a întâmplat [că], în al unsprezecelea an, în [luna] a treia, în [ziua] întâi a lunii, cuvântul DOMNULUI a venit la mine, spunând:
2 Sonne of man, speake vnto Pharaoh King of Egypt, and to his multitude, Whom art thou like in thy greatnesse?
Fiu al omului, vorbește lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, și mulțimii lui: Ca cine ești tu în măreția ta?
3 Beholde, Asshur was like a cedar in Lebanon with faire branches, and with thicke shadowing boughes, and shot vp very hye, and his toppe was among the thicke boughes.
Iată, asirianul [era] un cedru în Liban cu crengi frumoase și frunziș umbros și de o statură înaltă; și vârful lui era printre ramurile dese.
4 The waters nourished him, and the deepe exalted him on hie with her riuers running round about his plants, and sent out her litle riuers vnto all the trees of the fielde.
Apele îl făceau mare, adâncul l-a înălțat sus cu râurile lui curgând de jur împrejurul plantelor lui și își trimitea râulețele la toți copacii câmpului.
5 Therefore his height was exalted aboue all the trees of the fielde, and his boughes were multiplied, and his branches were long, because of the multitude of the waters, which the deepe sent out.
De aceea înălțimea lui era înălțată deasupra tuturor copacilor câmpului și ramurile lui erau înmulțite și crengile lui s-au lungit datorită mulțimii apelor, când creștea repede.
6 All the foules of the heauen made their nestes in his boughes, and vnder his branches did all the beastes of the fielde bring foorth their yong, and vnder his shadowe dwelt all mightie nations.
Toate păsările cerului își făceau cuiburile în ramurile lui; și sub crengile lui toate fiarele câmpului își nășteau puii și la umbra lui locuiau toate națiunile mari.
7 Thus was he faire in his greatnesse, and in the length of his branches: for his roote was neere great waters.
Astfel era el frumos în măreția lui, în lungimea crengilor lui, pentru că rădăcina lui era lângă ape mari.
8 The cedars in the garden of God coulde not hide him: no firre tree was like his branches, and the chessenut trees were not like his boughes: all the trees in the garden of God were not like vnto him in his beautie.
Cedrii din grădina lui Dumnezeu nu puteau să îl ascundă; brazii nu erau asemenea ramurilor lui și castanii nu erau precum crengile lui; nici vreun copac din grădina lui Dumnezeu nu îi era asemenea în frumusețea lui.
9 I made him faire by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, enuied him.
Eu îl făcusem frumos prin mulțimea crengilor lui; astfel încât toți copacii Edenului care [erau] în grădina lui Dumnezeu, îl invidiau.
10 Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Because he is lift vp on high, and hath shot vp his toppe among the thicke boughes, and his heart is lift vp in his height,
De aceea, astfel spune Domnul DUMNEZEU: Pentru că te-ai înălțat în înălțime și el și-a crescut repede vârful printre ramurile dese și inima lui s-a înălțat în înălțimea lui;
11 I haue therefore deliuered him into the handes of the mightiest among the heathen: he shall handle him, for I haue cast him away for his wickednesse.
Eu de aceea l-am dat în mâna celui puternic dintre păgâni; el într-adevăr va avea de a face cu el: l-am alungat pentru stricăciunea lui.
12 And the strangers haue destroyed him, euen the terrible nations, and they haue left him vpon the mountaines, and in all the valleis his branches are fallen, and his boughes are broken by all the riuers of the land: and all the people of the earth are departed from his shadowe, and haue forsaken him.
Și străinii, tiranii națiunilor, l-au stârpit și l-au părăsit; crengile lui au căzut pe munți și în toate văile și ramurile lui sunt rupte prin toate râurile țării; și toate popoarele pământului au coborât de la umbra lui și l-au părăsit.
13 Vpon his ruine shall all the foules of the heauen remaine, and all the beastes of the fielde shall be vpon his branches,
Peste ruina lui toate păsările cerului vor rămâne și toate fiarele câmpului vor fi peste crengile lui;
14 So that none of all the trees by the waters shalbe exalted by their height, neither shall shoote vp their toppe among the thicke boughes, neither shall their leaues stand vp in their height, which drinke so much water: for they are all deliuered vnto death in the nether partes of the earth in the middes of the children of men among them that goe downe to the pit.
Ca niciunul dintre toți copacii de lângă ape să nu se înalțe pe ei înșiși pentru înălțimea lor, nici să nu își crească repede vârful printre ramurile dese, nici copacii lor să nu stea drepți în înălțimea lor, toți care beau apă, pentru că toți sunt dați morții, în părțile de jos ale pământului, în mijlocul copiilor oamenilor, cu cei care coboară în groapă.
15 Thus saith the Lord God, In the day when he went downe to hell, I caused them to mourne, and I couered the deepe for him, and I did restreine the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: I caused Lebanon to mourne for him, and all the trees of the fielde fainted. (Sheol h7585)
Astfel spune Domnul DUMNEZEU: În ziua când el a coborât în mormânt eu am pus să se facă o jelire; am acoperit adâncul pentru el și am oprit potopurile lui și apele cele mari au fost oprite; și am făcut Libanul să jelească pentru el și toți copacii câmpului s-au topit pentru el. (Sheol h7585)
16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him downe to hell with them that descend into the pit, and all the excellent trees of Eden, and the best of Lebanon: euen all that are nourished with waters, shall be comforted in the nether partes of the earth. (Sheol h7585)
Am făcut națiunile să se zguduie la sunetul căderii lui, când l-am aruncat jos în iad cu cei care coboară în groapă; și toți copacii Edenului, cei mai aleși și cei mai buni ai Libanului, toți cei care beau apă, vor fi mângâiați în părțile de jos ale pământului. (Sheol h7585)
17 They also went downe to hell with him vnto them that be slaine with the sworde, and his arme, and they that dwelt vnder his shadowe in the middes of the heathen. (Sheol h7585)
Ei de asemenea au coborât cu el în iad la cei uciși cu sabia; și [cei care erau] brațul lui, [care] locuiau sub umbra lui în mijlocul păgânilor. (Sheol h7585)
18 To whom art thou thus like in glorie and in greatnesse among the trees of Eden? yet thou shalt be cast downe with the trees of Eden vnto the nether partes of the earth: thou shalt sleepe in the middes of the vncircumcised, with them that be slaine by the sworde: this is Pharaoh and all his multitude, sayth the Lord God.
Astfel, cu cine ești tu asemenea în glorie și în măreție printre copacii Edenului? Totuși vei fi coborât cu copacii Edenului în părțile de jos ale pământului; te vei culca în mijlocul celor necircumciși, cu cei uciși de sabie. Acesta [este] Faraon și toată mulțimea lui, spune Domnul DUMNEZEU.
