Ezekiel 3
1 Moreover he saide vnto me, Sonne of man, eate that thou findest: eate this roule, and goe, and speake vnto the house of Israel.
Il me dit: « Fils d'homme, mange ce que tu trouves. Mange ce rouleau, et va, parle à la maison d'Israël. »
2 So I opened my mouth, and he gaue mee this roule to eate.
Et j'ai ouvert la bouche, et il m'a fait manger le rouleau.
3 And he said vnto me, Sonne of man, cause thy belly to eate, and fill thy bowels with this roule that I giue thee. Then did I eate it, and it was in my mouth as sweete as honie.
Il me dit: « Fils d'homme, mange ce rouleau que je te donne et remplis-en ton ventre et tes entrailles. » Puis je l'ai mangé. C'était aussi doux que du miel dans ma bouche.
4 And he said vnto me, Sonne of man, goe, and enter into the house of Israel, and declare them my wordes.
Il me dit: « Fils d'homme, va vers la maison d'Israël, et dis-leur mes paroles.
5 For thou art not sent to a people of an vnknowen tongue, or of an hard language, but to the house of Israel,
Car ce n'est pas à un peuple au langage étranger et à la langue difficile que tu es envoyé, mais à la maison d'Israël -
6 Not to many people of an vnknowen tongue, or of an harde language, whose wordes thou canst not vnderstand: yet if I should sende thee to them, they would obey thee.
et non à de nombreux peuples au langage étranger et à la langue difficile, dont tu ne comprends pas les paroles. Certes, si je t'envoyais vers eux, ils t'écouteraient.
7 But the house of Israel will not obey thee: for they will not obey me: yea, all the house of Israel are impudent and stiffe hearted.
Mais la maison d'Israël ne t'écoutera pas, car elle ne m'écoutera pas, car toute la maison d'Israël est obstinée et dure de cœur.
8 Beholde, I haue made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead harde against their foreheads.
Voici, j'ai rendu ta face dure contre leurs faces, et ton front dur contre leurs fronts.
9 I haue made thy forehead as the adamant, and harder then the flint: feare them not therefore, neither be afraid at their lookes: for they are a rebellious house.
J'ai rendu ton front comme un diamant, plus dur que le silex. Ne les crains pas et ne t'effraie pas de leurs regards, bien qu'ils soient une maison rebelle. »
10 He said moreouer vnto me, Sonne of man, receiue in thine heart al my words that I speake vnto thee, and heare them with thine eares,
Il me dit encore: « Fils d'homme, reçois dans ton cœur et écoute de tes oreilles toutes les paroles que je te dis.
11 And goe and enter to them that are led away captiues vnto the children of thy people, and speake vnto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord God: but surely they will not heare, neither will they in deede cease.
Va vers les captifs, vers les enfants de ton peuple, et parle-leur, et dis-leur: 'Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Yahvé'; ils écouteront ou ils refuseront. »
12 Then the spirite tooke me vp, and I heard behinde me a noise of a great russhing, saying, Blessed be ye glorie of the Lord out of his place.
Alors l'Esprit me souleva, et j'entendis derrière moi la voix d'un grand tumulte: « Bénie soit la gloire de Yahvé du haut de son lieu! »
13 I heard also the noyse of the wings of the beasts, that touched one another, and the ratling of the wheeles that were by them, euen a noyse of a great russhing.
J'entendis le bruit des ailes des êtres vivants qui se touchaient, et le bruit des roues à côté d'eux, le bruit d'un grand tumulte.
14 So the spirit lift me vp, and tooke me away and I went in bitternesse, and indignation of my spirite, but the hand of the Lord was strong vpon me.
Et l'Esprit me souleva et m'emporta; et je m'en allai dans l'amertume, dans la chaleur de mon esprit; et la main de l'Éternel était forte sur moi.
15 Then I came to them that were led away captiues to Tel-abib, that dwelt by the riuer Chebar, and I sate where they sate, and remained there astonished among them seuen dayes.
Puis j'arrivai auprès des captifs de Tel-Aviv, qui habitaient près du fleuve Kebar, et au lieu où ils habitaient; et je restai là, accablé, au milieu d'eux, pendant sept jours.
16 And at the ende of seuen dayes, the worde of the Lord came againe vnto me, saying,
Au bout de sept jours, la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée, en ces termes:
17 Sonne of man, I haue made thee a watchman vnto the house of Israel: therefore heare the worde at my mouth, and giue them warning from me.
« Fils d'homme, je t'ai établi comme sentinelle de la maison d'Israël. Écoute donc la parole de ma bouche, et avertis-les de ma part.
18 When I shall say vnto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die, and thou giuest not him warning, nor speakest to admonish the wicked of his wicked way, that he may liue, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquitie: but his blood will I require at thine hande.
Si je dis au méchant: « Tu mourras », et que tu ne l'avertisses pas, et que tu ne parles pas pour détourner le méchant de sa mauvaise voie, pour lui sauver la vie, ce méchant mourra dans son iniquité, et je réclamerai son sang de ta main.
19 Yet if thou warne the wicked, and he turne not from his wickednesse, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquitie, but thou hast deliuered thy soule.
Mais si tu avertis le méchant, et qu'il ne se détourne pas de sa méchanceté ni de sa mauvaise voie, il mourra dans son iniquité; mais toi, tu as sauvé ton âme. »
20 Likewise if a righteous man turne from his righteousnesse, and commit iniquitie, I will lay a stumbling blocke before him, and he shall die, because thou hast not giuen him warning: he shall die in his sinne, and his righteous deedes, which he hath done, shall not be remembred: but his blood will I require at thine hand.
« Si un homme juste se détourne de sa justice et commet l'iniquité, et que je mette devant lui une pierre d'achoppement, il mourra. Parce que tu ne l'as pas averti, il mourra dans son péché, et l'on ne se souviendra pas des bonnes actions qu'il a faites; mais je demanderai son sang par ta main.
21 Neuerthelesse, if thou admonish that righteous man, that the righteous sinne not, and that he doeth not sinne, he shall liue because he is admonished: also thou hast deliuered thy soule.
Cependant, si tu avertis le juste, afin qu'il ne pèche pas, et qu'il ne pèche pas, il vivra, parce qu'il a été averti, et tu auras sauvé ton âme. »
22 And the hande of the Lord was there vpon me, and he said vnto me, Arise, and goe into the fielde, and I will there talke with thee.
La main de Yahvé était là, sur moi, et il me dit: « Lève-toi, va dans la plaine, et là je te parlerai. »
23 So when I had risen vp, and gone foorth into the fielde, beholde, the glorie of the Lord stoode there, as the glorie which I sawe by the riuer Chebar, and I fell downe vpon my face.
Alors je me levai, et je sortis dans la plaine. Et voici que la gloire de Yahvé se tenait là, comme la gloire que j'avais vue près du fleuve Kebar. Alors je tombai sur ma face.
24 Then the Spirit entred into me, which set me vp vpon my feete, and spake vnto me, and said to me, Come, and shut thy selfe within thine house.
Alors l'Esprit entra en moi et me remit sur pied. Il me parla, et me dit: « Va, enferme-toi dans ta maison.
25 But thou, O sonne of man, beholde, they shall put bandes vpon thee, and shall binde thee with them, and thou shalt not goe out among them.
Mais toi, fils d'homme, voici qu'on te mettra des cordes et qu'on t'attachera avec elles, et tu ne sortiras pas au milieu d'eux.
26 And I will make thy tongue cleaue to the roofe of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dume, and shalt not be to them as a man that rebuketh: for they are a rebellious house.
Je ferai coller ta langue au palais de ta bouche, de sorte que tu seras muet et que tu ne pourras pas les corriger, car c'est une maison rebelle.
27 But when I shall haue spoken vnto thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord God, He that heareth, let him heare, and he that leaueth off, let him leaue: for they are a rebellious house.
Mais quand je parlerai avec toi, j'ouvrirai ta bouche et tu leur diras: « Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Yahvé ». Que celui qui entende, entende, et que celui qui refuse, refuse, car c'est une maison rebelle. »
