Ezekiel 28
1 The word of the Lord came againe vnto me, saying,
E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
2 Sonne of man, say vnto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saieth the Lord God, Because thine heart is exalted, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God in ye mids of the sea, yet thou art but a man and not God, and though thou didest thinke in thine heart, that thou wast equall with God,
“Figliuol d’uomo, di’ al principe di Tiro: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Il tuo cuore s’è fatto altero, e tu dici: Io sono un dio! Io sto assiso sopra un trono di Dio nel cuore de’ mari! mentre sei un uomo e non un Dio, quantunque tu ti faccia un cuore simile a un cuore d’un Dio.
3 Behold, thou art wiser then Daniel: there is no secrete, that they can hide from thee.
Ecco, tu sei più savio di Daniele, nessun mistero è oscuro per te;
4 With thy wisedome and thine vnderstanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten golde and siluer into thy treasures.
con la tua saviezza e con la tua intelligenza ti sei procurato ricchezza, hai ammassato oro e argento nei tuoi tesori;
5 By thy great wisedome and by thine occupying hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted vp because of thy riches.
con la tua gran saviezza e col tuo commercio hai accresciuto le tue ricchezze, e a motivo delle tue ricchezze il tuo cuore s’è fatto altero.
6 Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Because thou didest thinke in thine heart, that thou wast equall with God,
Perciò così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Poiché tu ti sei fatto un cuore come un cuore di Dio,
7 Behold, therefore I wil bring strangers vpon thee, euen the terrible nations: and they shall drawe their swordes against the beautie of thy wisedome, and they shall defile thy brightnes.
ecco, io fo venire contro di te degli stranieri, i più violenti di fra le nazioni; ed essi sguaineranno le loro spade contro lo splendore della tua saviezza, e contamineranno la tua bellezza;
8 They shall cast thee downe to the pit, and thou shalt die the death of them, that are slaine in the middes of the sea.
ti trarranno giù nella fossa, e tu morrai della morte di quelli che sono trafitti nei cuori de’ mari.
9 Wilt thou say then before him, that slayeth thee, I am a god? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hands of him that slayeth thee.
Continuerai tu a dire: “Io sono un Dio”, in presenza di colui che ti ucciderà? Sarai un uomo e non un Dio nelle mani di chi ti trafiggerà!
10 Thou shalt die the death of the vncircumcised by the hands of stragers: for I haue spoken it, sayth the Lord God.
Tu morrai della morte degli incirconcisi, per man di stranieri; poiché io ho parlato, dice il Signore, l’Eterno”.
11 Moreouer the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
E la parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
12 Sonne of man, take vp a lamentation vpon the King of Tyrus, and say vnto him, Thus sayeth the Lord God, Thou sealest vp the summe, and art full of wisedome and perfite in beautie.
“Figliuol d’uomo, pronunzia una lamentazione sul re di Tiro, e digli: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Tu mettevi il suggello alla perfezione, eri pieno di saviezza, di una bellezza perfetta;
13 Thou hast ben in Eden the garden of God: euery precious stone was in thy garment, the rubie, the topaze and the diamonde, the chrysolite, the onix, and the iasper, the saphir, emeraude, and the carbuncle and golde: the woorkemanship of thy timbrels, and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
eri in Eden il giardino di Dio; eri coperto d’ogni sorta di pietre preziose: rubini, topazi, diamanti, crisoliti, onici, diaspri, zaffiri, carbonchi, smeraldi, oro; tamburi e flauti erano al tuo servizio, preparati il giorno che fosti creato.
14 Thou art the anointed Cherub, that couereth, and I haue set thee in honour: thou wast vpon the holy mountaine of God: thou hast walked in the middes of the stones of fire.
Eri un cherubino dalle ali distese, un protettore. Io t’avevo stabilito, tu stavi sul monte santo di Dio, camminavi in mezzo a pietre di fuoco.
15 Thou wast perfite in thy wayes from the day that thou wast created, till iniquitie was found in thee.
Tu fosti perfetto nelle tue vie dal giorno che fosti creato, perché non si trovò in te la perversità.
16 By the multitude of thy marchandise, they haue filled the middes of thee with crueltie, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as prophane out of the mountaine of God: and I will destroy thee, O couering Cherub from the mids of the stones of fire.
Per l’abbondanza del tuo commercio, tutto in te s’è riempito di violenza, e tu hai peccato; perciò io ti caccio come un profano dal monte di Dio, e ti farò sparire, o cherubino protettore, di mezzo alle pietre di fuoco.
17 Thine heart was lifted vp because of thy beautie, and thou hast corrupted thy wisedome by reason of thy brightnes: I wil cast thee to ye grounde: I will lay thee before Kinges that they may beholde thee.
Il tuo cuore s’è fatto altero per la tua bellezza; tu hai corrotto la tua saviezza a motivo del tuo splendore; io ti gettò a terra, ti do in ispettacolo ai re.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctification by the multitude of thine iniquities, and by the iniquitie of thy marchandise: therefore wil I bring forth a fire from the mids of thee, which shall deuoure thee: and I wil bring thee to ashes vpon the earth, in the sight of all them that beholde thee.
Con la moltitudini delle tue iniquità, colla disonestà del tuo commercio, tu hai profanato i tuoi santuari; ed io faccio uscire di mezzo a te un fuoco che ti divori, e ti riduco in cenere sulla terra, in presenza di tutti quelli che ti guardano.
19 All they that knowe thee among the people, shalbe astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terrour, and neuer shalt thou be any more.
Tutti quelli che ti conoscevano fra i popoli restano stupefatti al vederti; tu sei diventato oggetto di terrore e non esisterai mai più”.
20 Againe, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
La parola dell’Eterno mi fu rivolta in questi termini:
21 Sonne of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesie against it,
“Figliuol d’uomo, volgi la faccia verso Sidon, profetizza contro di lei,
22 And say, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, O Zidon, and I will be glorified in the mids of thee: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall haue executed iudgements in her, and shalbe sanctified in her.
e di’: Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Eccomi contro di te, o Sidon! e io mi glorificherò in mezzo di te: e si conoscerà che io sono l’Eterno, quando avrò eseguiti i miei giudizi contro di lei, e mi sarò santificato in lei.
23 For I wil send into her pestilence, and blood into her streetes, and the slaine shall fall in the middes of her: the enemie shall come against her with the sword on euery side, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
Io manderò contro di lei la peste, e ci sarà del sangue nelle sue strade; e in mezzo ad essa cadranno gli uccisi dalla spada, che piomberà su lei da tutte le parti; e si conoscerà che io sono l’Eterno.
24 And they shalbe no more a pricking thorne vnto the house of Israel, nor any grieuous thorne of all that are round about them, and despised them, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord God.
E non ci sarà più per la casa d’Israele né spina maligna né rovo irritante fra tutti i suoi vicini che la disprezzano; e si conoscerà che io sono il Signore, l’Eterno.
25 Thus saith the Lord God, When I shall haue gathered the house of Israel from the people where they are scattered, and shalbe sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwel in the land, that I haue giuen to my seruant Iaakob.
Così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Quando avrò raccolto la casa d’Israele di mezzo ai popoli fra i quali essa è dispersa, io mi santificherò in loro nel cospetto delle nazioni, ed essi abiteranno il loro paese che io ho dato al mio servo Giacobbe;
26 And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall builde houses, and plant vineyards: yea, they shall dwell safely, when I haue executed iudgements vpon al round about them that despise them, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord their God.
vi abiteranno al sicuro; edificheranno case e pianteranno vigne; abiteranno al sicuro, quand’io avrò eseguito i miei giudizi su tutti quelli che li circondano e li disprezzano; e conosceranno che io sono l’Eterno, il loro Dio”.
