Ezekiel 28
1 The word of the Lord came againe vnto me, saying,
Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
2 Sonne of man, say vnto the prince of Tyrus, Thus saieth the Lord God, Because thine heart is exalted, and thou hast said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God in ye mids of the sea, yet thou art but a man and not God, and though thou didest thinke in thine heart, that thou wast equall with God,
Poiché il tuo cuore si è insuperbito e hai detto: Io sono un dio, siedo su un seggio divino in mezzo ai mari, mentre tu sei un uomo e non un dio, hai uguagliato la tua mente a quella di Dio, «Figlio dell'uomo, parla al principe di Tiro: Dice il Signore Dio:
3 Behold, thou art wiser then Daniel: there is no secrete, that they can hide from thee.
ecco, tu sei più saggio di Daniele, nessun segreto ti è nascosto.
4 With thy wisedome and thine vnderstanding thou hast gotten thee riches, and hast gotten golde and siluer into thy treasures.
Con la tua saggezza e il tuo accorgimento hai creato la tua potenza e ammassato oro e argento nei tuoi scrigni;
5 By thy great wisedome and by thine occupying hast thou increased thy riches, and thine heart is lifted vp because of thy riches.
con la tua grande accortezza e i tuoi traffici hai accresciuto le tue ricchezze e per le tue ricchezze si è inorgoglito il tuo cuore.
6 Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Because thou didest thinke in thine heart, that thou wast equall with God,
Perciò così dice il Signore Dio: Poiché hai uguagliato la tua mente a quella di Dio,
7 Behold, therefore I wil bring strangers vpon thee, euen the terrible nations: and they shall drawe their swordes against the beautie of thy wisedome, and they shall defile thy brightnes.
ecco, io manderò contro di te i più feroci popoli stranieri; snuderanno le spade contro la tua bella saggezza, profaneranno il tuo splendore.
8 They shall cast thee downe to the pit, and thou shalt die the death of them, that are slaine in the middes of the sea.
Ti precipiteranno nella fossa e morirai della morte degli uccisi in mezzo ai mari.
9 Wilt thou say then before him, that slayeth thee, I am a god? but thou shalt be a man, and no God, in the hands of him that slayeth thee.
Ripeterai ancora: «Io sono un dio», di fronte ai tuo uccisori? Ma sei un uomo e non un dio in balìa di chi ti uccide.
10 Thou shalt die the death of the vncircumcised by the hands of stragers: for I haue spoken it, sayth the Lord God.
Della morte dei non circoncisi morirai per mano di stranieri, perché io l'ho detto». Oracolo del Signore Dio.
11 Moreouer the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
12 Sonne of man, take vp a lamentation vpon the King of Tyrus, and say vnto him, Thus sayeth the Lord God, Thou sealest vp the summe, and art full of wisedome and perfite in beautie.
Tu eri un modello di perfezione, pieno di sapienza, perfetto in bellezza; «Figlio dell'uomo, intona un lamento sul principe di Tiro e digli: Così dice il Signore Dio:
13 Thou hast ben in Eden the garden of God: euery precious stone was in thy garment, the rubie, the topaze and the diamonde, the chrysolite, the onix, and the iasper, the saphir, emeraude, and the carbuncle and golde: the woorkemanship of thy timbrels, and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.
in Eden, giardino di Dio, tu eri coperto d'ogni pietra preziosa: rubini, topazi, diamanti, crisòliti, ònici e diaspri, zaffìri, carbonchi e smeraldi; e d'oro era il lavoro dei tuoi castoni e delle tue legature, preparato nel giorno in cui fosti creato.
14 Thou art the anointed Cherub, that couereth, and I haue set thee in honour: thou wast vpon the holy mountaine of God: thou hast walked in the middes of the stones of fire.
Eri come un cherubino ad ali spiegate a difesa; io ti posi sul monte santo di Dio e camminavi in mezzo a pietre di fuoco.
15 Thou wast perfite in thy wayes from the day that thou wast created, till iniquitie was found in thee.
Perfetto tu eri nella tua condotta, da quando sei stato creato, finché fu trovata in te l'iniquità.
16 By the multitude of thy marchandise, they haue filled the middes of thee with crueltie, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as prophane out of the mountaine of God: and I will destroy thee, O couering Cherub from the mids of the stones of fire.
Crescendo i tuoi commerci ti sei riempito di violenza e di peccati; io ti ho scacciato dal monte di Dio e ti ho fatto perire, cherubino protettore, in mezzo alle pietre di fuoco.
17 Thine heart was lifted vp because of thy beautie, and thou hast corrupted thy wisedome by reason of thy brightnes: I wil cast thee to ye grounde: I will lay thee before Kinges that they may beholde thee.
Il tuo cuore si era inorgoglito per la tua bellezza, la tua saggezza si era corrotta a causa del tuo splendore: ti ho gettato a terra e ti ho posto davanti ai re che ti vedano.
18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctification by the multitude of thine iniquities, and by the iniquitie of thy marchandise: therefore wil I bring forth a fire from the mids of thee, which shall deuoure thee: and I wil bring thee to ashes vpon the earth, in the sight of all them that beholde thee.
Con la gravità dei tuoi delitti, con la disonestà del tuo commercio hai profanato i tuoi santuari; perciò in mezzo a te ho fatto sprigionare un fuoco per divorarti. Ti ho ridotto in cenere sulla terra sotto gli occhi di quanti ti guardano.
19 All they that knowe thee among the people, shalbe astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terrour, and neuer shalt thou be any more.
Quanti fra i popoli ti hanno conosciuto sono rimasti attoniti per te, sei divenuto oggetto di terrore, finito per sempre».
20 Againe, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Mi fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:
21 Sonne of man, set thy face against Zidon, and prophesie against it,
«Figlio dell'uomo, volgiti verso Sidòne e profetizza contro di essa:
22 And say, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, O Zidon, and I will be glorified in the mids of thee: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall haue executed iudgements in her, and shalbe sanctified in her.
Eccomi contro di te, Sidòne, e mostrerò la mia gloria in mezzo a te. Si saprà che io sono il Signore quando farò giustizia di te e manifesterò la mia santità. Annunziale: Dice il Signore Dio:
23 For I wil send into her pestilence, and blood into her streetes, and the slaine shall fall in the middes of her: the enemie shall come against her with the sword on euery side, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
Manderò contro di essa la peste e il sangue scorrerà per le sue vie: cadranno in essa i trafitti di spada e questa da ogni parte graverà; e sapranno che io sono il Signore.
24 And they shalbe no more a pricking thorne vnto the house of Israel, nor any grieuous thorne of all that are round about them, and despised them, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord God.
Non ci sarà più per gli Israeliti un aculeo pungente, una spina dolorosa tra tutti i suoi vicini che la disprezzano: sapranno che io sono il Signore».
25 Thus saith the Lord God, When I shall haue gathered the house of Israel from the people where they are scattered, and shalbe sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwel in the land, that I haue giuen to my seruant Iaakob.
Così dice il Signore Dio; «Quando avrò radunato gli Israeliti di mezzo ai popoli fra i quali sono dispersi, io manifesterò in essi la mia santità davanti alle genti: abiteranno il paese che diedi al mio servo Giacobbe,
26 And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall builde houses, and plant vineyards: yea, they shall dwell safely, when I haue executed iudgements vpon al round about them that despise them, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord their God.
vi abiteranno tranquilli, costruiranno case e pianteranno vigne; vi abiteranno tranquilli, quando avrò eseguito i miei giudizi su tutti coloro che intorno li disprezzano: e sapranno che io sono il Signore loro Dio».
