Ezekiel 26
1 And in the eleuenth yeere, in the first day of the moneth, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Et en l'année onzième, le premier jour du mois, la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
2 Sonne of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Ierusalem, Aha, the gate of the people is broken: it is turned vnto me: for seeing she is desolate, I shall be replenished,
Fils de l'homme, en punition de ce que Tyr a dit de Jérusalem: C'est bien! elle est brisée, son peuple a péri, son trafic est revenu à moi; elle qui était remplie, la voilà vide;
3 Therefore thus sayth the Lord God, Beholde, I come against thee, O Tyrus, and I will bring vp many nations against thee, as the sea mounteth vp with his waues.
En punition de cela, ainsi dit le Seigneur: Voilà que je suis contre toi, Tyr, et je conduirai coutre toi maintes nations, comme la mer monte avec ses vagues.
4 And they shall destroy the walles of Tyrus and breake downe her towres: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rocke.
Et elles abattront tes remparts, ô Tyr, et elles abattront tes tours; et je vannerai loin d'elle sa poussière, et je ferai d'elle une roche nue.
5 Thou shalt be for the spreading of nettes in the middes of the sea: for I haue spoken it, sayth the Lord God, and it shalbe a spoile to ye nations.
Elle sera au milieu de la mer un lieu à faire sécher les filets; car c'est moi qui ai parlé, dit le Seigneur. Et elle sera livrée en proie aux nations.
6 And her daughters which are in the fielde, shall be slaine by the sworde, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
Et ses filles, dans les champs, périront par le glaive, et elles sauront que je suis le Seigneur.
7 For thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, I will bring vpon Tyrus Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, a King of Kings from the North, with horses and with charets, and with horsemen, with a multitude and much people.
Car ainsi dit le Seigneur: Voilà que de l'aquilon je conduis contre toi, Tyr, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone; il est le roi des rois, avec des chevaux et des chars, et des cavaliers, et un rassemblement de maintes nations.
8 He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the fielde, and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee, and lift vp the buckler against thee.
Il fera périr tes filles par le glaive dans les champs; il placera contre toi des gardes avancées; il bâtira autour de toi des forts; il t'enveloppera de palissades; il t'entourera de camps; il lancera devant toi ses javelines.
9 He shall set engins of warre before him against thy walles, and with his weapons breake downe thy towres.
Il renversera de ses glaives tes remparts et tes tours.
10 The dust of his horses shall couer thee, for their multitude: thy walles shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheeles, and of the charets, when he shall enter into thy gates as into the entrie of a citie that is broken downe.
À cause de la multitude de ses chevaux, tu seras couverte de poussière par le fracas de ses cavaliers et des roues de ses chars; tes murs seront ébranlés quand il franchira tes portes, comme on franchit dans la plaine l'entrée d'une ville.
11 With the hooues of his horses shall he treade downe all thy streetes: he shall slay thy people by the sworde, and the pillars of thy strength shall fall downe to the ground.
Les sabots de ses coursiers fouleront toutes tes places, et il passera ton peuple au fil de l'épée, et tout ce qui fait ta force, il le renversera par terre.
12 And they shall robbe thy riches, and spoyle thy marchandise, and they shall breake downe thy walles, and destroy thy pleasant houses, and they shall cast thy stones and thy timber and thy dust into the middes of the water.
Et il pillera tes richesses, et il enlèvera tes marchandises; il abattra tes murs; il détruira tes maisons si convoitées, et il jettera au fond de la mer qui te baigne tes pierres, tes bois et ta poussière.
13 Thus will I cause the sounde of thy songs to cease, and the sound of thine harpes shall be no more heard.
Et il fera cesser tes nombreux concerts, et on n'entendra plus la voix de tes harpes.
14 I wil lay thee like the top of a rocke: thou shalt be for a spreading of nets: thou shalt be built no more: for I the Lord haue spoken it, sayth the Lord God.
Et je ferai de toi une roche nue, un lieu à faire sécher les filets, et tu ne seras plus rebâtie; car moi, le Seigneur, j'ai parlé, dit le Seigneur.
15 Thus sayth the Lord God to Tyrus, Shall not the yles tremble at the sounde of thy fall? and at the crie of the wounded, when they shall be slaine and murthered in the middes of thee?
Car voici ce que dit à Tyr le Seigneur Maître: Les îles ne trembleront-elles pas au bruit de ta chute, quand tes blessés gémiront et que le glaive sera tiré au milieu de toi?
16 Then all the princes of the sea shall come downe from their thrones: they shall lay away their robes, and put off their broydered garments, and shall clothe themselues with astonishment: they shall sitte vpon the ground, and be astonished at euery moment, and be amased at thee.
Et tous les rois des nations maritimes descendront de leur trône, et ils déposeront leurs mitres de leurs têtes, et ils se dépouilleront de leurs vêtements brodés. Ils seront frappés de stupeur; ils s'asseyeront à terre, et ils craindront de périr, et ils gémiront sur toi.
17 And they shall take vp a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, Howe art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of the sea men, the renoumed citie which was strong in the sea, both she and her inhabitants, which cause their feare to be on all that haunt therein!
Et ils feront de toi un sujet de lamentation, et ils te diront: Comment as-tu cessé de sillonner la mer, ô ville si célèbre, toi qui inspirais ta crainte à tous ceux qui demeurent sur tes rives?
18 Nowe shall the yles be astonished in the day of thy fall: yea, the yles that are in the sea, shall be troubled at thy departure.
Et les elles trembleront au jour de ta chute.
19 For thus saith the Lord God, When I shall make thee a desolate citie, like ye cities that are not inhabited, and when I shall bring the deepe vpon thee, and great waters shall couer thee,
Car voici ce que dit le Seigneur Maître: Lorsque j'aurai fait de toi une solitude comme des villes qui ne seront plus habitées, quand j'aurai fait passer sur toi l'abîme, et que les grandes eaux te couvriront,
20 When I shall cast thee downe with them that descende into the pitte, with the people of olde time, and shall set thee in the lowe partes of the earth, like the olde ruines, with them, I say, which goe downe to the pitte, so that thou shalt not be inhabited, and I shall shewe my glory in the land of the liuing,
Je te précipiterai parmi ceux qui sont tombés dans le gouffre, chez le peuple éternel, et je te placerai au plus profond de la terre, comme en un désert éternel parmi ceux qui sont tombés dans le gouffre, afin que tu ne sois plus habitée; et tu ne reviendras plus sur la terre des vivants.
21 I will bring thee to nothing, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou neuer be found againe, sayth the Lord God.
Je te perdrai, et tu ne subsisteras plus dans les siècles, dit le Seigneur Maître.
