Ezekiel 22
1 Moreover, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
2 Now thou sonne of man, wilt thou iudge, wilt thou iudge this bloody citie? wilt thou shew her all her abominations?
Et toi, fils de l'homme, jugeras-tu, jugeras-tu la ville sanguinaire? et fais-lui connaître toutes ses abominations
3 Then say, Thus sayth the Lord God, The citie sheddeth blood in the middes of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against her selfe to pollute her selfe.
et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Ville, qui verses le sang dans ton sein, pour que ton moment arrive, et qui fais, des idoles pour te souiller!
4 Thou hast offended in thy blood, that thou hast shed, and hast polluted thy selfe in thine idols, which thou hast made, and thou hast caused thy dayes to draw neere, and art come vnto thy terme: therefore haue I made thee a reproch to the heathen, and a mocking to all countreys.
Par le sang que tu as versé, tu t'es rendue coupable, et par les idoles que tu as faites, tu t'es souillée, et as fait avancer le terme de tes jours, et tu es parvenue au terme de tes années. C'est pourquoi je te livre aux outrages des nations, et à la dérision de tous les pays;
5 Those that be neere, and those that be farre from thee, shall mocke thee, which art vile in name and sore in affliction.
lointains et rapprochés ils te tourneront en dérision, comme portant un nom souillé, comme pleine de trouble.
6 Beholde, the princes of Israel euery one in thee was ready to his power, to shed blood.
Voici, les princes d'Israël sont au dedans de toi, chacun selon son pouvoir occupés à répandre le sang.
7 In thee haue they despised father and mother: in the middes of thee haue they oppressed the stranger: in thee haue they vexed the fatherlesse and the widowe.
Pour père et pour mère ils montrent du mépris au dedans de toi; à l'étranger ils font sentir l'oppression dans ton sein; envers l'orphelin et la veuve ils sont violents au milieu de toi.
8 Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast polluted my Sabbaths.
Tu méprises mes sanctuaires, et profanes mes sabbats.
9 In thee are men that cary tales to shed blood: in thee are they that eate vpon the mountaines: in ye mids of thee they comit abomination.
Il se trouve en toi des calomniateurs pour répandre le sang; et sur les montagnes ils prennent part aux banquets au milieu de toi; ils commettent le crime dans ton sein.
10 In thee haue they discouered their fathers shame: in thee haue they vexed her that was polluted in her floures.
On découvre au milieu de toi la nudité d'un père, ils jouissent des femmes pendant leur souillure au milieu de toi.
11 And euery one hath committed abomination with his neighbours wife, and euery one hath wickedly defiled his daughter in lawe, and in thee hath euery man forced his owne sister, euen his fathers daughter.
Chacun commet des infamies avec la femme de son prochain, et chacun souille sa bru par l'inceste, et chacun jouit de sa sœur, fille de son père, au milieu de toi.
12 In thee haue they taken giftes to shed blood: thou hast taken vsurie and the encrease, and thou hast defrauded thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God.
Dans ton sein ils reçoivent des présents, pour répandre le sang; tu reçois une usure et un intérêt, et portes dommage à ton prochain par des exactions, et moi tu m'oublies, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
13 Beholde, therefore I haue smitten mine hands vpon thy couetousnesse, that thou hast vsed, and vpon the blood, which hath bene in the middes of thee.
Voici, je frappe dans mes mains à cause de la cupidité à laquelle tu te livres, et du sang versé qui est dans ton sein.
14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the dayes that I shall haue to doe with thee? I the Lord haue spoken it, and will doe it.
Ton cœur tiendra-t-il? tes mains resteront-elles fermes dans les jours où j'agirai contre toi? Moi, l'Éternel, je le dis et le ferai:
15 And I wil scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countreys, and will cause thy filthines to cease from thee.
je te disperserai parmi les peuples et te disséminerai dans les pays divers, et du milieu de toi j'exterminerai ta souillure,
16 And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thy selfe in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord.
et ce sera par toi que tu seras souillée aux yeux des peuples, et tu sauras que je suis l'Éternel.
17 And the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
18 Sonne of man, the house of Israel is vnto me as drosse: all they are brasse, and tinne, and yron, and leade in the mids of the fornace: they are euen the drosse of siluer.
Fils de l'homme, la maison d'Israël est devenue pour moi une scorie; tous ils sont de l'airain, et de l'étain, et du fer, et du plomb dans le fourneau; ils sont une scorie d'argent.
19 Therefore, thus sayth the Lord God, Because ye are all as drosse, beholde, therefore I will gather you in the middes of Ierusalem.
Aussi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel: Parce que vous êtes tous devenus scories, pour cela, voici, je vous ramasserai au milieu de Jérusalem.
20 As they gather siluer and brasse, and yron, and leade, and tinne into the middes of the fornace, to blowe the fire vpon it to melt it, so wil I gather you in mine anger and in my wrath, and wil put you there and melt you.
De même qu'on rassemble l'argent, et l'airain, et le fer, et le plomb, et l'étain dans le fourneau, pour y souffler le feu afin d'en faire la fusion; ainsi je vous rassemblerai dans ma colère et dans mon courroux, et je vous y mettrai pour vous fondre.
21 I wil gather you, I say, and blowe the fire of my wrath vpon you, and you shalbe melted in the mids thereof.
Oui, je vous ramasserai, et soufflerai contre vous le feu de ma fureur, afin que vous y fondiez.
22 As siluer is melted in the mids of the fornace, so shall ye be melted in the mids thereof, and ye shall knowe, that I the Lord haue powred out my wrath vpon you.
Comme on fond l'argent au fourneau, ainsi vous serez fondus au milieu d'elle, afin que vous sachiez que c'est moi, l'Éternel, qui verse ma fureur sur vous.
23 And the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Et la parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée en ces mots:
24 Sonne of man, say vnto her; Thou art the land, that is vncleane, and not rained vpon in the day of wrath.
Fils de l'homme, dis à la ville: Tu es une terre qui n'est pas nettoyée, et n'aura pas ses pluies au jour de la colère.
25 There is a conspiracie of her prophets in the mids thereof like a roaring lyon, rauening the praye: they haue deuoured soules: they haue taken the riches and precious things: they haue made her many widowes in the mids thereof.
Il y a conspiration de ses prophètes au milieu d'elle; pareils au lion rugissant déchirant une proie, ils dévorent des âmes, prennent ce qui est riche et précieux, et font au milieu d'elle un grand nombre de veuves.
26 Her Priests haue broken my Lawe, and haue defiled mine holy things: they haue put no difference betweene the holy and prophane, neither discerned betweene the vncleane, and the cleane, and haue hid their eyes from my Sabbaths, and I am prophaned among them.
Ses prêtres violent ma loi et profanent mes sanctuaires; entre ce qui est sacré et ce qui est profane, ils ne font nulle différence, et n'enseignent pas la différence qui est entre le pur et l'immonde, et sur mes sabbats ils ferment les yeux, et je suis déshonoré au milieu d'eux.
27 Her princes in the mids thereof are like wolues, rauening the praye to shed blood, and to destroy soules for their owne couetous lucre.
Ses princes sont au milieu d'elle comme des loups ravissants, ils versent le sang, perdent les âmes, par l'avidité du gain.
28 And her prophets haue dawbed them with vntempered morter, seeing vanities, and diuining lies vnto them, saying, Thus sayth the Lord God, when the Lord had not spoken.
Et ses prophètes les recouvrent de plâtre, ont de fausses visions et leur donnent des présages menteurs, disant: « Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel! » tandis que l'Éternel ne leur a point parlé.
29 The people of the land haue violently oppressed by spoyling and robbing, and haue vexed the poore and the needy: yea, they haue oppressed the stranger against right.
Le peuple du pays commet des violences, exerce des rapines, opprime l'affligé et l'indigent, et sur l'étranger commet des violences injustement.
30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make vp the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.
J'ai cherché parmi eux un homme qui élevât une muraille, et montât à la brèche au-devant de moi en faveur du pays, pour que je ne le détruise pas, mais je ne l'ai pas trouvé.
31 Therefore haue I powred out mine indignation vpon them, and consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their owne wayes haue I rendred vpon their heads, sayth the Lord God.
Aussi vais-je verser ma colère sur eux, les consumer par le feu de mon courroux, et faire retomber leurs œuvres sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel.
