Ezekiel 16

1 Again, the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

Weiter erging das Wort des HERRN an mich folgendermaßen:

2 Sonne of man, cause Ierusalem to knowe her abominations,

»Menschensohn, halte der Stadt Jerusalem ihre Greuel vor

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God vnto Ierusalem, Thine habitation and thy kindred is of the land of Canaan: thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.

mit den Worten: ›So spricht Gott der HERR zu Jerusalem: Deiner Herkunft und Geburt nach stammst du aus dem Lande der Kanaanäer: dein Vater war ein Amoriter und deine Mutter eine Hethiterin.‹«

4 And in thy natiuitie whe thou wast borne, thy nauell was not cut: thou wast not washed in water to soften thee: thou wast not salted with salt, nor swadled in cloutes.

»›Und was deine Geburt betrifft, so wurde dir an dem Tage, als du zur Welt kamst, weder die Nabelschnur abgeschnitten, noch wurdest du in einem Wasserbade rein gewaschen, noch mit Salz eingerieben und nicht in Windeln gewickelt;

5 None eye pitied thee to do any of these vnto thee, for to haue compassion vpon thee, but thou wast cast out in the open fielde to the contempt of thy person in ye day that thou wast borne.

kein Auge blickte mitleidig auf dich hin, um dir irgendeinen derartigen Liebesdienst zu erweisen und sich deiner zu erbarmen; sondern du wurdest aufs freie Feld hingeworfen: so wenig machte man sich aus deinem Leben am Tage deiner Geburt.

6 And when I passed by thee, I saw thee polluted in thine owne blood, and I said vnto thee, whe thou wast in thy blood, Thou shalt liue: euen when thou wast in thy blood, I saide vnto thee, Thou shalt liue.

Da kam ich an dir vorüber und sah dich in deinem Blut zappeln und sagte zu dir, als du in deinem Blut dalagst: Du sollst leben! Ja, ich sagte zu dir in deinem Blut: Bleibe leben

7 I haue caused thee to multiplie as the bud of the fielde, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou hast gotten excellent ornaments: thy breastes are facioned, thine heare is growen, where as thou wast naked and bare.

und wachse heran wie die Grashalme auf der Flur! Da wuchsest du heran und wurdest groß und gelangtest zu vollster Jugendblüte: die Brüste wölbten sich dir, dein Haar sproßte kräftig; doch du warst immer noch nackt und bloß.

8 Nowe when I passed by thee, and looked vpon thee, beholde, thy time was as the time of loue, and I spred my skirtes ouer thee, and couered thy filthines: yea, I sware vnto thee, and entred into a couenant with thee, saith the Lord God, and thou becamest mine.

Als ich nun wieder an dir vorüberkam und dich sah, siehe, da war deine Zeit da, die Zeit der Liebe! Da breitete ich meinen Mantelzipfel über dich aus und bedeckte deine Blöße; ich schwur dir Treue und ging einen Bund mit dir ein‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –, ›und du wurdest mein.

9 Then washed I thee with water: yea, I washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oyle.

Dann wusch ich dich mit Wasser, spülte dein Blut von dir ab und salbte dich mit Öl;

10 I clothed thee also with broydred worke, and shod thee with badgers skin: and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I couered thee with silke.

ich kleidete dich in bunte Gewänder, ließ dich Schuhe von Seekuhfell anziehen und einen Kopfbund von feiner Leinwand anlegen und hüllte dich in Seide;

11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets vpon thine handes, and a chaine on thy necke.

ich schmückte dich mit Geschmeide, ich legte dir Spangen an die Arme und eine Kette um den Hals,

12 And I put a frontlet vpon thy face, and earings in thine eares, and a beautifull crowne vpon thine head.

tat dir einen Ring an die Nase, Gehänge an die Ohren und eine prächtige Krone aufs Haupt.

13 Thus wast thou deckt with gold and siluer, and thy rayment was of fine linen, and silke, and broydred worke: thou didest eate fine floure, and honie and oyle, and thou wast very beautifull, and thou didest grow vp into a kingdome.

So warst du geschmückt mit Gold und Silber, deine Kleidung bestand aus feiner Leinwand, aus Seide und bunten Geweben; du nährtest dich von Semmel, von Honig und Öl, wurdest immer schöner und brachtest es bis zur Königswürde.

14 And thy name was spred among the heathen for thy beautie: for it was perfite through my beautie which I had set vpon thee, saith the Lord God.

Dein Ruhm erscholl unter den Völkern wegen deiner Schönheit; denn diese war vollkommen infolge des herrlichen Schmuckes, den ich dir angelegt hatte‹« – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.

15 Nowe thou didest trust in thine owne beautie, and playedst the harlot, because of thy renowne, and hast powred out thy fornications on euery one that passed by, thy desire was to him.

»›Aber da verließest du dich auf deine Schönheit und buhltest im Vertrauen auf deine Berühmtheit und warfst dich mit deiner buhlerischen Liebe an jeden Vorübergehenden weg, so daß du dich ihm preisgabst.

16 And thou didest take thy garments, and deckedst thine hie places with diuers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like thinges shall not come, neither hath any done so.

Du nahmst von deinen Gewändern, machtest dir bunte Opferhöhen und triebst dort deine Unzucht [wie sie nie vorgekommen ist und nie wieder stattfinden wird].

17 Thou hast also taken thy faire iewels made of my golde and of my siluer, which I had giuen thee, and madest to thy selfe images of men, and didest commit whoredome with them,

Dann nahmst du auch deine prächtigen Geschmeide, die aus meinem Gold und meinem Silber, die ich dir geschenkt hatte, angefertigt waren, und machtest dir Mannsbilder daraus, mit denen du Buhlerei triebst;

18 And tookest thy broydred garments, and coueredst them: and thou hast set mine oyle and my perfume before them.

auch nahmst du deine bunten Gewänder und legtest sie ihnen an, und mein Öl und meinen Weihrauch brachtest du vor ihren Augen dar;

19 My meate also, which I gaue thee, as fine floure, oyle, and honie, wherewith I fedde thee, thou hast euen set it before them for a sweete sauour: thus it was, saith the Lord God.

und was ich dir als Speise gegeben hatte, Semmel, Öl und Honig, die ich dich hatte essen lassen, das setztest du ihnen als lieblich duftende Opfergabe vor. Ja, das alles ist geschehen!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.

20 Moreouer thou hast taken thy sonnes and thy daughters, whome thou hast borne vnto me, and these hast thou sacrificed vnto them, to be deuoured: is this thy whoredome a small matter?

›Auch nahmst du deine Söhne und Töchter, die du mir geboren hattest, und schlachtetest sie ihnen zum Fraß. Genügte deine Buhlerei noch nicht,

21 That thou hast slaine my children, and deliuered them to cause them to passe through fire for them?

daß du auch noch meine Kinder schlachten mußtest und sie hingabst, indem du sie ihnen als Opfer verbranntest?

22 And in all thine abominations and whoredomes thou hast not remembred the dayes of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

Und bei all deinen Greueln und deinen Buhlereien dachtest du nicht an die Tage deiner Jugend zurück, wie du damals nackt und bloß warst und zappelnd in deinem Blut dalagst!

23 And beside all thy wickednes (wo, wo vnto thee, saith the Lord God)

Und nach all deiner Bosheit – wehe, wehe dir!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN – ›kam es dahin,

24 Thou hast also built vnto thee an hie place, and hast made thee an hie place in euery streete.

daß du dir erhöhte Opferplätze bautest und dir Götzenstätten auf jedem freien Platz anlegtest;

25 Thou hast built thine hie place at euery corner of the way, and hast made thy beautie to be abhorred: thou hast opened thy feete to euery one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredome.

an allen Straßenecken bautest du dir deine erhöhten Götzenstätten und schändetest deine Schönheit; denn für jeden Vorübergehenden spreiztest du deine Beine und triebst es mit deiner Unzucht immer ärger.

26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, which haue great members, and hast encreased thy whoredome, to prouoke me.

Du buhltest mit den Ägyptern, deinen Nachbarn, den starkgliedrigen, und triebst es immer ärger mit deiner Unzucht, um mich zu erbittern.

27 Beholde, therefore I did stretche out mine hand ouer thee, and will diminish thine ordinarie, and deliuer thee vnto the will of them that hate thee, euen to the daughters of the Philistims, which are ashamed of thy wicked way.

Da streckte ich denn meine Hand gegen dich aus und minderte den dir bestimmten Lebensunterhalt und gab dich der Gier deiner Feindinnen, der Töchter der Philister, preis, die sich ob deinem unzüchtigen Treiben schämten.

28 Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast insaciable: yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.

Alsdann buhltest du auch mit den Assyrern, weil du nie satt wurdest; du buhltest mit ihnen, wurdest aber auch dadurch noch nicht gesättigt;

29 Thou hast moreouer multiplied thy fornication from the land of Canaan vnto Caldea, and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith.

vielmehr triebst du noch ärgere Buhlerei nach dem Krämerland Chaldäa hin; doch auch davon wurdest du nicht satt.

30 Howe weake is thine heart, saith the Lord God, seeing thou doest all these thinges, euen the worke of a presumptuous whorish woman?

Wie schmachtend war doch dein Herz‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –, ›daß du dies alles verübtest, wie es eine zügellose Erzbuhlerin zu tun pflegt!

31 In that thou buildest thine hie place in the corner of euery way, and makest thine hie place in euery streete, and hast not bene as an harlot that despiseth a reward,

Daß du dir an jeder Straßenecke einen erhöhten Opferplatz anlegtest und dir Götzenstätten auf jedem freien Platze bautest! Und dabei warst du nicht einmal wie eine gewöhnliche Buhlerin, daß du Buhllohn eingesammelt hättest:

32 But as a wife that playeth the harlot, and taketh others for her husband:

du ehebrecherisches Weib, das statt ihres Ehemannes Fremde annahm!

33 They giue giftes to all other whores, but thou giuest giftes vnto all thy louers, and rewardest them, that they may come vnto thee on euery side for thy fornication.

Sonst gibt man allen Dirnen Buhllohn; du aber gabst deinerseits allen deinen Liebhabern Geschenke und erkauftest sie, damit sie von allen Seiten zu dir eingingen, um Unzucht mit dir zu treiben.

34 And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy fornications, neither the like fornication shall be after thee: for in that thou giuest a rewarde, and no reward is giuen vnto thee, therefore thou art contrary.

So war es bei dir in deiner Buhlerei umgekehrt wie sonst bei den Weibern: nicht dir stellte man buhlerisch nach, sondern, indem du Buhllohn gabst, während dir kein Lohn gegeben wurde, fand bei dir das Umgekehrte statt.‹«

35 Wherefore, O harlot, heare the worde of the Lord.

»›Darum, du Buhlerin, vernimmt das Wort des HERRN!

36 Thus sayeth the Lord God, Because thy shame was powred out, and thy filthinesse discouered through thy fornications with thy louers, and with all the idoles of thine abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didest offer vnto them,

So spricht Gott der HERR: Weil deine Verworfenheit sich überallhin verbreitet hat, und du deine Blöße bei deinen Buhlereien vor deinen Liebhabern aufgedeckt hast, und wegen all deiner greulichen Götzen und um des Blutes deiner Kinder willen, die du ihnen hingegeben hast:

37 Beholde, therefore I wil gather all thy louers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loued, with al them that thou hast hated: I will euen gather them round about against thee, and will discouer thy filthines vnto them, that they may see all thy filthines.

darum will ich, wisse es wohl, alle deine Liebhaber, zu denen du in Liebe entbrannt warst, zusammenholen, und zwar alle, die du gern gehabt hast, samt allen denen, die dir zuwider geworden sind: die will ich von allen Seiten ringsum gegen dich zusammenholen und deine Blöße vor ihnen aufdecken, daß sie deine ganze Scham zu sehen bekommen.

38 And I wil iudge thee after ye maner of them that are harlots, and of them that shead blood, and I wil giue thee the blood of wrath and ielousie.

Sodann will ich dir nach den für Ehebrecherinnen und Mörderinnen geltenden Rechtsbestimmungen das Urteil sprechen und meinen Grimm und meine Eifersucht an dir stillen.

39 I will also giue thee into their handes, and they shall destroy thine hie place, and shall breake downe thine hie places. they shall strippe thee also out of thy clothes, and shall take thy faire iewels, and leaue thee naked and bare.

Und ich will dich in ihre Gewalt geben, damit sie deine erhöhten Opferplätze niederreißen und deine Götzenstätten zerstören; und sie sollen dir deine Gewänder ausziehen und dir deine prächtigen Geschmeide wegnehmen und dich nackt und bloß hinstellen.

40 They shall also bring vp a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swordes.

Dann werden sie eine Gemeindeversammlung gegen dich berufen und dich steinigen und dich mit ihren Schwertern in Stücke hauen;

41 And they shall burne vp thine houses with fire, and execute iudgements vpon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou shalt giue no reward any more.

auch werden sie deine Häuser mit Feuer verbrennen und das Strafgericht an dir vollstrecken vor den Augen zahlreicher Frauen. So will ich deiner Buhlerei ein Ende machen, und du sollst fortan auch keinen Buhllohn mehr geben.

42 So will I make my wrath towarde thee to rest, and my ielousie shall depart from thee, and I will cease and be no more angrie.

Wenn ich so meinen Grimm an dir gestillt habe und meine Eifersucht gegen dich geschwunden ist, so werde ich mich beruhigt fühlen und mich nicht mehr zu entrüsten brauchen.

43 Because thou hast not remembred the dayes of thy youth, but hast prouoked me with all these things, behold, therefore I also haue brought thy way vpon thine head, sayeth the Lord God: yet hast not thou had consideration of all thine abominations.

Weil du der Tage deiner Jugend nicht gedacht und mich durch dies alles zum Zorn gereizt hast, so will auch ich nunmehr die Strafe für dein Tun auf dein Haupt fallen lassen!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes, des HERRN. ›Hast du etwa nicht Unzucht getrieben zu all deinen Greueln hinzu?‹«

44 Beholde, all that vse prouerbes, shall vse this prouerbe against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

»›Wahrlich, jeder, der sich der Sprichwörter bedient, wird auf dich den Spruch anwenden: Wie die Mutter, so die Tochter!

45 Thou art thy mothers daughter, that hath cast off her husband and her children, and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which forsooke their husbands and their children: your mother is an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

Du bist wirklich die Tochter deiner Mutter, die ihres Mannes und ihrer Kinder überdrüssig geworden ist; und du bist wirklich die Schwester deiner Schwestern, die ihre Männer und ihre Kinder von sich gestoßen haben. Eure Mutter ist eine Hethiterin und euer Vater ein Amoriter gewesen.

46 And thine elder sister is Samaria, and her daughters, that dwell at thy left hand, and thy yong sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom, and her daughters.

Deine größere Schwester ist Samaria mit ihren Tochterstädten, die nördlich von dir wohnt; und deine kleinere Schwester, die südlich von dir wohnt, ist Sodom mit ihren Tochterstädten.

47 Yet hast thou not walked after their wayes, nor done after their abominations: but as it had bene a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more then they in all thy wayes.

Aber nicht auf ihren Wegen bist du gewandelt, und nicht Greuel wie sie hast du verübt; nein, nur ein kleines Weilchen hat es gedauert, da hast du es ärger als sie getrieben in all deinem Wandel.

48 As I liue, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, neither shee nor her daughters, as thou hast done and thy daughters.

So wahr ich lebe!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN –, ›deine Schwester Sodom samt ihren Tochterstädten hat nicht so übel gehandelt, wie du es getan hast samt deinen Tochterstädten.

49 Beholde, this was the iniquitie of thy sister Sodom, Pride, fulnesse of bread, and aboundance of idlenesse was in her, and in her daughters: neither did shee strengthen the hande of the poore and needie.

Siehe, das war die Verschuldung deiner Schwester Sodom: Hoffart, Brot in Fülle und sorglose Ruhe war ihr samt ihren Tochterstädten eigen; aber den Armen und Notleidenden reichten sie niemals die Hand zur Hilfe,

50 But they were hautie, and committed abomination before mee: therefore I tooke them away, as pleased me.

sondern sie wurden hochmütig und verübten Greuel vor meinen Augen; darum schaffte ich sie weg, sobald ich das sah.

51 Neither hath Samaria committed halfe of thy sinnes, but thou hast exceeded them in thine abominations, and hast iustified thy sisters in all thine abominations, which thou hast done.

Auch Samaria hat nicht halb so viel gesündigt wie du, sondern du hast so viel mehr Greuel verübt als jene beiden, daß deine Schwestern dir gegenüber als gerecht erscheinen infolge all deiner Greuel, die du verübt hast.

52 Therefore thou which hast iustified thy sisters, beare thine owne shame for thy sinnes, that thou hast committed more abominable then they which are more righteous then thou art: be thou therefore confounded also, and beare thy shame, seeing that thou hast iustified thy sisters.

So trage nun auch du deine Schande, weil du für deine Schwestern ins Mittel getreten bist: infolge deiner Sünden, durch die du ärgere Greuel verübt hast als sie, stehen sie gerechter da als du. So schäme nun auch du dich und trage deine Schmach dafür, daß du deine Schwestern als gerecht hast erscheinen lassen.‹«

53 Therefore I will bring againe their captiuitie with the captiuitie of Sodom, and her daughters, and with the captiuitie of Samaria, and her daughters: euen the captiuitie of thy captiues in the middes of them,

»›Ich werde aber ihr Schicksal wenden, das Schicksal Sodoms und ihrer Tochterstädte und das Schicksal Samarias und ihrer Tochterstädte, und dann auch dein eigenes Schicksal in ihrer Mitte,

54 That thou mayest beare thine owne shame, and mayest bee confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou hast comforted them.

auf daß du deine Schmach trägst und dich alles dessen schämst, was du verübt hast, indem du ihnen dadurch Trost verschafftest.

55 And thy sister Sodom and her daughters shall returne to their former state: Samaria also and her daughters shall returne to their former state, when thou and thy daughters shall returne to your former state.

Wenn dann deine Schwester Sodom nebst ihren Tochterstädten und Samaria nebst ihren Tochterstädten wiederhergestellt worden sind, wie sie einst gewesen, so sollst auch du mit deinen Tochterstädten in den früheren Zustand zurückversetzt werden.

56 For thy sister Sodom was not heard of by thy report in the day of thy pride,

War nicht der Name deiner Schwester Sodom als abschreckendes Beispiel in deinem Munde zur Zeit deines Hochmuts,

57 Before thy wickednes was discouered, as in that same time of the reproch of the daughters of Aram, and of all the daughters of the Philistims round about her which despise thee on all sides.

ehe deine Blöße aufgedeckt wurde, wie (dies jetzt der Fall ist) jetzt, da die Töchter Syriens dich schmähen und alle Töchter der Philister dich ringsumher verachten?

58 Thou hast borne therefore thy wickednesse and thine abomination, saith the Lord.

Für deine Unzucht und deine Greuel mußt du nun die Strafe büßen!‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.«

59 For thus saith the Lord God, I might euen deale with thee, as thou hast done: when thou didest despise the othe, in breaking the couenant.

»Denn so spricht Gott der HERR: ›Ja, ich werde mit dir verfahren, wie du verfahren bist: du hast ja den Schwur mißachtet, indem du den Bund brachest.

60 Neuerthelesse, I wil remember my couenant made with thee in ye dayes of thy youth, and I wil confirme vnto thee an euerlasting couenant.

Doch ich will meines Bundes gedenken, den ich mit dir in den Tagen deiner Jugend geschlossen habe, und will einen ewigen Bund mit dir aufrichten.

61 Then thou shalt remember thy wayes, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receiue thy sisters, both thy elder and thy yonger, and I will giue them vnto thee for daughters, but not by thy couenat.

Da wirst du dann an dein ganzes Tun zurückdenken und dich seiner schämen, wenn ich deine Schwestern, sowohl die größeren als auch die kleineren, nehme und sie dir zu Töchtern gebe, allerdings nicht auf Grund des mit dir geschlossenen Bundes.

62 And I wil establish my couenant with thee, and thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord,

Sondern ich will meinerseits einen Bund mit dir schließen, und du sollst erkennen, daß ich der HERR bin,

63 That thou mayest remember, and be ashamed, and neuer open thy mouth any more: because of thy shame when I am pacified toward thee, for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.

damit du daran gedenkst und dich schämst und infolge deiner Schmach den Mund nicht mehr auftust, wenn ich dir alles vergeben habe, was du getan hast‹ – so lautet der Ausspruch Gottes des HERRN.«
