Ezekiel 11
1 Moreover, the Spirite lift me vp, and brought me vnto the East gate of the Lordes house, which lyeth Eastwarde, and beholde, at the entrie of the gate were fiue and twentie men: among whome I sawe Iaazaniah the sonne of Azur, and Pelatiah the sonne of Benaiah, the princes of the people.
L’Esprit m’enleva et m’amena à la porte orientale du temple de l’Eternel, qui regarde vers l’Est, et voici qu’il y avait à l’entrée de la porte vingt-cinq hommes, et je vis parmi eux Yaazania, fils d’Azzour, et Pelatiahou, fils de Benaïahou, chefs du peuple.
2 Then said he vnto me, Sonne of man, these are the men that imagine mischiefe, and deuise wicked counsell in this citie.
Et il me dit: "Fils de l’homme, voici les hommes qui méditent l’iniquité et qui donnent de mauvais conseils dans cette ville,
3 For they say, It is not neere, let vs builde houses: this citie is the caldron, and wee be the flesh.
qui disent: Ce n’est pas de sitôt qu’on bâtira des maisons; elle la ville est le pot et nous sommes la viande.
4 Therefore prophesie against them, sonne of man, prophesie.
C’Est pourquoi, prophétise sur eux, prophétise, fils de l’homme".
5 And the Spirite of the Lord fell vpon me, and said vnto me, Speake, Thus saith the Lord, O ye house of Israel, this haue ye said, and I know that which riseth vp of your mindes.
Et l’esprit du Seigneur descendit sur moi et il me dit "Dis: Ainsi parle l’Eternel: C’Est de la sorte que vous vous exprimez, maison d’Israël; les inspirations de votre esprit, je les connais.
6 Many haue ye murthered in this citie, and ye haue filled the streets thereof with the slaine.
Vous avez multiplié vos victimes dans cette ville et vous avez rempli ses rues de cadavres.
7 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, They that ye haue slaine, and haue layed in the middes of it, they are the flesh, and this citie is the caldron, but I wil bring you foorth of the mids of it.
C’Est pourquoi, ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu, ce sont les cadavres que vous y avez mis qui sont la chair, et la ville est le pot, mais vous, je vous en ferai sortir.
8 Ye haue feared the sworde, and I wil bring a sworde vpon you, saith the Lord God.
Vous avez peur du glaive, j’amènerai le glaive sur vous, dit le Seigneur Dieu.
9 And I will bring you out of the middes thereof, and deliuer you into the hands of strangers, and will execute iudgements among you.
Et je vous ferai sortir du milieu d’elle, je vous livrerai aux mains d’étrangers, et j’exécuterai contre vous des jugements.
10 Ye shall fall by the sworde, and I wil iudge you in the border of Israel, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord.
Vous tomberez par le glaive, c’est sur le territoire d’Israël que je vous jugerai, et vous saurez que je suis l’Eternel.
11 This citie shall not be your caldron, neyther shall ye be the flesh in the middes thereof, but I will iudge you in the border of Israel.
Elle ne sera pas pour vous un pot où vous serez la viande; sur le territoire d’Israël je vous jugerai.
12 And ye shall knowe that I am the Lord: for ye haue not walked in my statutes, neither executed my iudgements, but haue done after the maners of the heathen, that are round about you.
Et vous saurez que je suis l’Eternel, de qui vous n’avez pas suivi les décrets, ni exécuté les lois, tandis que vous vous êtes conformés aux lois des peuples qui vous entourent."
13 And when I prophesied, Pelatiah the sonne of Benaiah dyed: then fell I downe vpon my face, and cryed with a loude voyce, and saide, Ah Lord God, wilt thou then vtterly destroy all the remnant of Israel?
Or, il arriva que, pendant ma prophétie, Pelatiahou, fils de Benaïa, mourut; je tombai sur ma face, poussai un grand cri et je dis: "Hélas! Seigneur Dieu, veux-tu l’extermination du reste d’Israël?"
14 Againe the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
Et la parole de l’Eternel me fut adressée en ces termes:
15 Sonne of man, thy brethren, euen thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, wholy are they vnto whome the inhabitants of Ierusalem haue said, Depart ye farre from the Lord: for the lande is giuen vs in possession.
"Fils de l’homme, ce sont tes frères, tes frères, les gens de ta parenté, et toute la maison d’Israël au complet, à qui les gens de Jérusalem ont dit: "Eloignez-vous d’auprès de l’Eternel, c’est à nous qu’a été donné le pays en héritage."
16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God, Although I haue cast them farre off among the heathen, and although I haue scattered them among the countreis, yet wil I be to them as a litle Sanctuarie in ye countreis where they shall come.
C’Est pourquoi dis: "Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: Oui, je les ai éloignés parmi les nations et je les ai dispersés dans les pays et je leur ai été un sanctuaire quelque temps dans les pays où ils sont venus.
17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God, I will gather you againe from the people, and assemble you out of the countreis where ye haue bene scattered, and I will giue you ye land of Israel.
Aussi dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur Dieu: Je vous rassemblerai d’entre les nations et je vous recueillerai des pays où vous avez été dispersés et je vous donnerai le pays d’Israël.
18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the idoles thereof, and all the abominations thereof from thence.
Ils y viendront et ils en enlèveront toutes les abominations et toutes les horreurs.
19 And I will giue them one heart, and I will put a newe spirit within their bowels: and I will take the stonie heart out of their bodies, and will giue them an heart of flesh,
Et je leur donnerai un seul coeur et je mettrai parmi vous un esprit nouveau; j’ôterai le coeur de pierre de leur corps et je leur donnerai un coeur de chair,
20 That they may walke in my statutes, and keepe my iudgements, and execute them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
afin qu’ils suivent mes lois, qu’ils observent mes prescriptions et les accomplissent, et ils seront pour moi un peuple et je serai pour eux un Dieu.
21 But vpon them, whose heart is towarde their idoles, and whose affection goeth after their abominations, I will lay their way vpon their owne heades, saith the Lord God.
Et pour ceux dont le coeur se dirige vers leurs abominations et leurs idoles abjectes, je ferai retomber leurs actes sur leur tête, parole du Seigneur Dieu."
22 Then did the Cherubims lift vp their wings, and the wheeles besides them, and the glorie of the God of Israel was vpon them on hie.
Et les chérubins levèrent leurs ailes, avec les roues en face d’eux, et la gloire du Dieu d’Israël lés couvrait par en haut.
23 And the glorie of the Lord went vp from the middes of the citie, and stoode vpon the moutaine which is towarde the East side of the citie.
La gloire de l’Eternel s’éleva d’au-dessus du centre de la ville et se plaça sur la montagne qui est à l’est de la ville.
24 Afterwarde the Spirite tooke me vp, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Caldea to them that were led away captiues: so the vision that I had seene, went vp from me.
Et l’esprit m’enleva et m’amena en Chaldée, vers les exilés, dans la même vision et par l’esprit de Dieu; puis la vision qui m’était apparue se retira de moi.
25 Then I declared vnto them that were led away captiues, all the things that the Lord had shewed me.
Et je rapportai aux exilés toutes les choses que l’Eternel m’avait révélées.
