Exodus 7
1 Then the Lord saide to Moses, Behold, I haue made thee Pharaohs God, and Aaron thy brother shall be thy Prophet.
Et l'Eternel dit à Moïse: voici, je t'ai établi pour être Dieu à Pharaon, et Aaron ton frère sera ton Prophète.
2 Thou shalt speake all that I commanded thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speake vnto Pharaoh, that he suffer the children of Israel to go out of his land.
Tu diras toutes les choses que je t'aurai commandées, et Aaron ton frère dira à Pharaon qu'il laisse aller les enfants d'Israël hors de son pays.
3 But I will harden Pharaohs heart, and multiplie my miracles and my wonders in the lande of Egypt.
Mais j'endurcirai le cœur de Pharaon, et je multiplierai mes signes et mes miracles au pays d'Egypte.
4 And Pharaoh shall not hearken vnto you, that I may lay mine hand vpon Egypt, and bring out myne armies, euen my people, the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, by great iudgements.
Et Pharaon ne vous écoutera point; je mettrai ma main sur l'Egypte, et je retirerai mes armées, mon peuple, les enfants d'Israël, du pays d'Egypte, par de grands jugements.
5 Then the Egyptians shall knowe that I am the Lord, when I stretch foorth mine hand vpon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
Et les Égyptiens sauront que je suis l'Eternel, quand j'aurai étendu ma main sur l'Egypte, et que j'aurai retiré du milieu d'eux les enfants d'Israël.
6 So Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded them, euen so did they.
Et Moïse et Aaron firent comme l'Eternel leur avait commandé; ils firent ainsi.
7 (Nowe Moses was foure score yeere olde, and Aaron foure score and three, when they spake vnto Pharaoh)
Or Moïse était âgé de quatre-vingts ans, et Aaron de quatre-vingt-trois, quand ils parlèrent à Pharaon.
8 And the Lord had spoken vnto Moses and Aaron, saying,
Et l'Eternel parla à Moïse et à Aaron, en disant:
9 If Pharaoh speake vnto you, saying, Shewe a miracle for you, then thou shalt say vnto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shalbe turned into a serpent.
Quand Pharaon vous parlera, en disant: faites un miracle; tu diras alors à Aaron: prends ta verge, et la jette devant Pharaon, [et] elle deviendra un dragon.
10 Then went Moses and Aaron vnto Pharaoh, and did euen as the Lord had commanded: and Aaron cast forth his rod before Pharaoh and before his seruants, and it was turned into a serpent.
Moïse donc et Aaron vinrent vers Pharaon, et firent comme l'Eternel avait commandé; et Aaron jeta sa verge devant Pharaon, et devant ses serviteurs, et elle devint un dragon.
11 Then Pharaoh called also for the wise men and sorcerers: and those charmers also of Egypt did in like maner with their enchantmens,
Mais Pharaon fit venir aussi les sages et les enchanteurs; et les magiciens d'Egypte firent le semblable par leurs enchantements.
12 For they cast downe euery man his rod, and they were turned into serpents: but Aarons rodde deuoured their rods.
Ils jetèrent donc chacun leurs verges, et elles devinrent des dragons; mais la verge d'Aaron engloutit leurs verges.
13 So Pharaohs heart was hardened, and hee hearkened not to them, as the Lord had saide.
Et le cœur de Pharaon s'endurcit, et il ne les écouta point; selon que l'Eternel [en] avait parlé.
14 The Lord then saide vnto Moses, Pharaohs heart is obstinate, hee refuseth to let the people goe.
Et l'Eternel dit à Moïse: le cœur de Pharaon est endurci, il a refusé de laisser aller le peuple.
15 Goe vnto Pharaoh in the morning, (loe, he will come forth vnto the water) and thou shalt stand and meete him by the riuers brinke, and the rod, which was turned into a serpent, shalt thou take in thine hand.
Va-t'en dès le matin vers Pharaon; voici, il sortira vers l'eau, tu te présenteras donc devant lui sur le bord du fleuve, et tu prendras en ta main la verge qui a été changée en serpent.
16 And thou shalt say vnto him, The Lord God of the Ebrewes hath sent me vnto thee, saying, Let my people goe, that they may serue mee in the wildernesse: and beholde, hitherto thou wouldest not heare.
Et tu lui diras: l'Eternel, le Dieu des Hébreux m'avait envoyé vers toi, pour [te] dire: laisse aller mon peuple, afin qu'il me serve au désert; mais voici, tu ne m'as point écouté jusques ici.
17 Thus saith the Lord, In this shalt thou know that I am the Lord: behold, I wil smite with the rodde that is in mine hand vpon the water that is in the riuer, and it shalbe turned to blood.
Ainsi a dit l'Éternel: tu sauras à ceci que je suis l'Eternel; voici, je m'en vais frapper de la verge qui [est] en ma main les eaux du fleuve, et elles seront changées en sang.
18 And the fish that is in the riuer shall dye, and the riuer shall stinke, and it shall grieue the Egyptians to drinke of the water of the riuer.
Et le poisson qui est dans le fleuve, mourra, et le fleuve deviendra puant, et les Egyptiens travailleront beaucoup pour [trouver] à boire des eaux du fleuve.
19 The Lord then spake to Moses, Say vnto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand ouer the waters of Egypt, ouer their streames, ouer their riuers, and ouer their pondes, and ouer all pooles of their waters, and they shalbe blood, and there shalbe blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and of stone.
L'Eternel dit aussi à Moïse: dis à Aaron: prends ta verge, et étends ta main sur les eaux des Egyptiens, sur leurs rivières, sur leurs ruisseaux, et sur leurs marais, et sur tous les amas de leurs eaux, et elles deviendront du sang, et il y aura du sang par tout le pays d'Egypte, dans les vaisseaux de bois et de pierre.
20 So Moses and Aaron did euen as the Lord commanded: and hee lift vp the rodde, and smote the water that was in the riuer in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his seruants: and all the water that was in the riuer, was turned into blood.
Moïse donc et Aaron firent selon que l'Eternel avait commandé. Et [Aaron] ayant levé la verge, en frappa les eaux du fleuve, Pharaon et ses serviteurs le voyant; et toutes les eaux du fleuve furent changées en sang.
21 And the fish that was in the ryuer dyed, and the riuer stanke: so that the Egyptians could not drinke of the water of the riuer: and there was blood throughout all the lande of Egypt.
Et le poisson qui était au fleuve mourut, et le fleuve en devint puant, tellement que les Egyptiens ne pouvaient point boire des eaux du fleuve; et il y eut du sang par tout le pays d'Egypte.
22 And the enchanters of Egypt did likewise with their sorceries: and the heart of Phraoh was hardened: so that he did not hearken vnto them, as the Lord had sayde.
Et les magiciens d'Egypte firent le semblable par leurs enchantements; et le cœur de Pharaon s'endurcit, tellement qu'il ne les écouta point; selon que l'Eternel en avait parlé.
23 Then Pharaoh returned, and went againe into his house, neither did this yet enter into his heart.
Et Pharaon [leur] ayant tourné le dos, vint en sa maison, et n'appliqua point encore son cœur aux choses [qu'il avait vues].
24 All the Egyptians then digged rounde about the riuer for waters to drinke: for they could not drinke of the water of the riuer.
Or tous les Egyptiens creusèrent autour du fleuve pour [trouver] de l'eau à boire, parce qu'ils ne pouvaient pas boire de l'eau du fleuve.
25 And this continued fully seuen dayes after the Lord had smitten the riuer.
Et il se passa sept jours depuis que l'Eternel eut frappé le fleuve.
