Exodus 40

1 Then the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces mots:

2 In the first day of the first moneth in the very first of the same moneth shalt thou set vp the Tabernacle, called ye Tabernacle of the Congregation:

A l'époque du premier mois, le premier jour du mois, tu élèveras la Résidence de la Tente du Rendez-vous.

3 And thou shalt put therein the Arke of the Testimonie, and couer the Arke with the vaile.

Et tu y placeras l'Arche du Témoignage et tu voileras l'Arche avec le Rideau.

4 Also thou shalt bring in the Table, and set it in order as it doth require: thou shalt also bring in the Candlesticke, and light his lampes,

Et tu y introduiras la Table et en arrangeras le couvert, puis le Candélabre que tu garniras de ses lampes.

5 And thou shalt set ye incense Altar of gold before the Arke of the Testimonie, and put the hanging at the doore of the Tabernacle.

Et tu mettras l'Autel d'or pour l'encensement devant l'Arche du Témoignage, et tu suspendras le Rideau à la porte de la Résidence.

6 Moreouer, thou shalt set the burnt offering Altar before the doore of the Tabernacle, called the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

Et tu placeras l'Autel des holocaustes devant l'entrée de la Résidence de la Tente du Rendez-vous.

7 And thou shalt set the Lauer betweene the Tabernacle of the Congregation and the Altar, and put water therein.

Et tu placeras le Bassin entre la Tente du Rendez-vous et l'Autel, et tu y mettras de l'eau.

8 Then thou shalt appoynt the courte round about, and hang vp the hanging at the courte gate.

Et tu dresseras le Parvis à l'entour, et tu suspendras le Rideau à la porte du Parvis.

9 After, thou shalt take the anoynting oyle, and anoynt the Tabernacle, and all that is therein, and halowe it with all the instruments thereof, that it may be holy.

Et tu prendras l'Huile d'onction et tu oindras la Résidence et tout ce qu'elle renferme, et tu la consacreras avec tous ses meubles, afin qu'elle soit sacrée.

10 And thou shalt anoynt the Altar of the burnt offring, and all his instruments, and shalt sanctifie the Altar, that it may bee an altar most holie.

Et tu oindras l'Autel des holocaustes et tous ses ustensiles, et tu consacreras l'Autel afin que l'Autel soit souverainement saint.

11 Also thou shalt anoynt the Lauer, and his foote, and shalt sanctifie it.

Et tu oindras le Bassin et son support et le consacreras.

12 Then thou shalt bring Aaron and his sonnes vnto the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and wash them with water.

Et tu amèneras Aaron et ses fils à l'entrée de la Tente du Rendez-vous et tu feras leur ablution avec de l'eau.

13 And thou shalt put vpon Aaron the holy garmentes, and shalt anoynt him, and sanctifie him, that he may minister vnto me in the Priestes office.

Et tu revêtiras Aaron des vêtements sacrés,

14 Thou shalt also bring his sonnes, and clothe them with garments,

et tu l'oindras et le consacreras pour qu'il me serve dans le sacerdoce.

15 And shalt anoynt them as thou diddest anoynt their father, that they may minister vnto mee in the Priestes office: for their anoynting shall be a signe, that the Priesthood shall be euerlasting vnto them throughout their generations.

Et tu feras approcher ses fils, et tu les revêtiras des tuniques, et tu les oindras comme tu auras oint leur père afin qu'ils me servent dans le sacerdoce, de telle sorte que leur onction leur confère le sacerdoce à perpétuité pour leurs générations futures.

16 So Moses did according to all that ye Lord had commanded him: so did he.

Et Moïse se conforma à tous les ordres que l'Éternel lui donnait: ainsi fit-il.

17 Thus was the Tabernacle reared vp the first day of the first moneth in the seconde yeere.

Et le premier mois de la seconde année, le premier jour du mois, la Résidence fut élevée.

18 Then Moses reared vp the Tabernacle and fastened his sockets, and set vp the boardes thereof, and put in the barres of it, and reared vp his pillars.

Et Moïse éleva la Résidence et en posa les soubassements et en plaça les ais et y mit leurs traverses et en dressa les colonnes.

19 And he spred the couering ouer the Tabernacle, and put the couering of that couering on hie aboue it, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Et il étendit la tente par-dessus la Résidence, et en haut par-dessus la tente il plaça la couverture, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

20 And he tooke and put the Testimonie in the Arke, and put the barres in the ringes of the Arke, and set the Merciseate on hie vpon the Arke.

Et prenant le Témoignage, il le mit dans l'Arche, et munit l'Arche de ses barres, et il plaça le Propitiatoire sur le haut de l'Arche,

21 He brought also the Arke into the Tabernacle, and hanged vp the couering vaile, and couered the Arke of the Testimonie, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

et il introduisit l'Arche dans la Résidence, et suspendit le Rideau, et il voila l'Arche du Témoignage, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

22 Furthermore he put the Table in the Tabernacle of the Congregation in the Northside of the Tabernacle, without the vaile,

Et il dressa la Table dans la Tente du Rendez-vous au côté nord de la Résidence en dehors du rideau,

23 And set the bread in order before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

et il y arrangea un couvert de pain devant l'Éternel, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonnée Moïse.

24 Also he put the Candlesticke in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, ouer against the Table toward ye Southside of the Tabernacle.

Et il plaça le Candélabre dans la Tente du Rendez-vous vis-à-vis de la Table au côté sud de la Résidence,

25 And he lighted the lampes before the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

et il fixa les lampes devant l'Éternel, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

26 Moreouer he set the golden Altar in the Tabernacle of the Congregation before the vayle,

Et il plaça l'Autel d'or dans la Tente du Rendez-vous devant le Rideau,

27 And burnt sweete incense thereon, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

et y fit fumer de l'encens odorant, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

28 Also he hanged vp the vayle at the doore of the Tabernacle.

Et il suspendit le Rideau à l'entrée de la Résidence,

29 After, he set the burnt offring Altar without the doore of the Tabernacle, called the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and offered the burnt offering and the sacrifice thereon, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

et il dressa l'Autel des holocaustes à l'entrée de la Résidence de la Tente du Rendez-vous, et y offrit les holocaustes et les offrandes, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

30 Likewise he set the Lauer betweene the Tabernacle of the Congregation and the Altar, and powred water therein to wash with.

Et il plaça le Bassin entre la Tente du Rendez-vous et l'Autel, et il y mit de l'eau pour les ablutions,

31 So Moses and Aaron, and his sonnes washed their handes and their feete thereat.

et Moïse et Aaron et ses fils s'y lavèrent les mains et les pieds;

32 When they went into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and when they approched to the Altar, they washed, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

au moment de pénétrer dans la Tente du Rendez-vous et de s'approcher de l'Autel ils firent ces ablutions, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

33 Finally, he reared vp the court rounde about the Tabernacle and the Altar, and hanged vp the vaile at the court gate: so Moses finished the worke.

Et il éleva le Parvis autour de la Résidence et de l'Autel, et fixa le rideau à la porte du Parvis: et ainsi Moïse acheva l'ouvrage.

34 Then the cloud couered the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the glorie of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.

Alors la nue couvrit la Tente du Rendez-vous, et la gloire de l'Éternel remplit la Résidence.

35 So Moses could not enter into the Tabernacle of the Congregation, because the cloude abode thereon, and the glorie of the Lord filled the Tabernacle.

Et Moïse ne put pénétrer dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, car la nue séjournait sur elle, et la gloire de l'Éternel remplissait la Résidence.

36 Nowe when the cloude ascended vp from the Tabernacle, the children of Israel went forward in all their iourneyes.

Et lorsque la nue se levait de dessus la Résidence, les enfants d'Israël levaient le camp dans tous leurs campements.

37 But if the cloude ascended not, then they iourneyed not till the day that it ascended.

Et quand la nue ne se retirait pas, ils ne levaient pas le camp qu'elle ne se fût retirée.

38 For the cloude of the Lord was vpon the Tabernacle by day, and fire was in it by night in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their iourneyes.

Car de jour la nue de l'Éternel couvrait la Résidence et de nuit il y avait un feu, et c'est ce que vit toute la maison d'Israël durant toute sa migration.
