Exodus 31
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel adressa ces paroles à Moïse:
2 Behold, I haue called by name, Bezaleel the sonne of Vri, the sonne of Hur of the tribe of Iudah,
Vois, j'ai appelé nommément Betsaléel, fils de Ouri, fils de Hur, de la tribu de Juda,
3 Whom I haue filled with the Spirit of God, in wisedome, and in vnderstanding and in knowledge and in all workmanship:
et je le remplis de l'esprit de Dieu, de sens, d'intelligence, d'entente et d'industrie en tout genre,
4 To finde out curious workes to worke in golde, and in siluer, and in brasse,
pour concevoir des idées, pour travailler l'or et l'argent et l'airain,
5 Also in the arte to set stones, and to carue in timber, and to worke in all maner of workmaship.
pour graver les pierres à enchâsser, pour ouvrager le bois et exécuter toutes sortes de travaux.
6 And behold, I haue ioyned with him Aholiab the sonne of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan, and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted, haue I put wisdome to make all that I haue commanded thee:
Et voici, je lui ai adjoint Oholiab, fils d'Ahisamach, de la tribu de Dan, et j'ai mis de l'intelligence dans l'esprit de tous ceux qui ont un esprit intelligent, afin qu'ils exécutent tout ce que je t'ai prescrit,
7 That is, the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the Arke of the Testimonie, and the Merciseate that shalbe therevpon, with all instruments of the Tabernacle:
la Tente du Rendez-vous et l'Arche du Témoignage et le Propitiatoire qui la couvre et tous les meubles de la tente,
8 Also the Table and the instruments thereof, and the pure Candlesticke with all his instruments, and the Altar of perfume:
et la Table et ses ustensiles et le Candélabre d'or pur et tout son attirail, et l'Autel aux parfums
9 Likewise the Altar of burnt offring with al his instruments, and the Lauer with his foote:
et l'Autel des holocaustes et tous ses ustensiles, et le Bassin et son support, et les tissus de mailles,
10 Also the garments of the ministration, and ye holy garments for Aaron ye Priest, and the garmets of his sonnes, to minister in the Priestes office,
et les Vêtements sacrés du prêtre Aaron et les habits de ses fils pour l'usage du sacerdoce,
11 And the anoynting oyle, and sweete perfume for the Sanctuarie: according to all that I haue commanded thee, shall they do.
et l'Huile de l'onction et l'Encens d'aromates pour l'usage du Sanctuaire: qu'ils se conforment dans l'exécution à tous les ordres que je t'ai donnés.
12 Afterwarde the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel s'adressa à Moïse en ces mots:
13 Speake thou also vnto the children of Israel, and say, Notwithstanding keepe yee my Sabbaths: for it is a signe betweene me and you in your generations, that ye may know that I the Lord do sanctifie you.
Adresse ces paroles aux enfants d'Israël: Observez bien mes sabbats; car ils serviront de signe entre moi et vous dans vos âges futurs pour vous faire comprendre que c'est moi, l'Éternel, qui vous ai consacrés.
14 Ye shall therefore keepe the Sabbath: for it is holy vnto you: he that defileth it, shall die the death: therefore whosoeuer worketh therin, the same person shalbe euen cut off from among his people.
Observez donc le jour du repos, car il est sacré pour vous; qui le profanera sera mis à mort; toute personne qui l'emploiera à une affaire sera extirpée du milieu de son peuple.
15 Sixe dayes shall men worke, but in the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the holy rest to the Lord: whosoeuer doeth any worke in the Sabbath day, shall dye the death.
Six jours l'on vaquera à ses affaires, mais au septième c'est jour de repos consacré à l'Éternel; quiconque fera une affaire le septième jour sera mis à mort.
16 Wherfore the children of Israel shall keepe the Sabbath, that they may obserue the rest throughout their generations for an euerlasting couenant.
Ainsi les enfants d'Israël garderont le sabbat en observant le jour du repos dans leurs âges futurs comme une institution éternelle.
17 It is a signe betweene me and the children of Israel for euer: for in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, and in the seuenth day he ceased, and rested.
Ce sera éternellement un signe entre moi et les enfants d'Israël; car en six jours l'Éternel a fait les cieux et la terre, et le septième jour Il s'est reposé et a repris haleine.
18 Thus (when the Lord had made an ende of communing with Moses vpon mount Sinai) he gaue him two Tables of the Testimonie, euen tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Et quand Il eut achevé de parler avec Moïse sur le mont de Sinaï, Il lui remit les Deux Tables du Témoignage, tables de pierre écrites du doigt de Dieu.
