Exodus 3

1 When Moses kept the sheepe of Iethro his father in lawe, Priest of Midian, and droue the flocke to the backe side of the desert, and came to the Mountaine of God, Horeb,

Moisés apacentaba el rebaño de su suegro Jetro, sacerdote de Madián, y condujo el rebaño al extremo del desierto. Llegó a Horeb, la Montaña de ʼElohim.

2 Then the Angel of the Lord appeared vnto him in a flame of fire, out of the middes of a bush: and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

Entonces el Ángel de Yavé se le apareció en una llama de fuego en medio de una zarza. Él vio que la zarza ardía con fuego, pero no se consumía.

3 Therefore Moses saide, I will turne aside nowe, and see this great sight, why the bush burneth not.

Y Moisés dijo: Me desviaré y observaré esta gran aparición. Por qué no se consume la zarza.

4 And when the Lord sawe that he turned aside to see, God called vnto him out of the middes of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he answered, I am here.

Cuando Yavé vio que él se desviaba para observar, lo llamó de en medio de la zarza y le dijo: ¡Moisés! ¡Moisés! Y él respondió: ¡Aquí estoy!

5 Then he saide, Come not hither, put thy shooes off thy feete: for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

Entonces Él le dijo: No te acerques acá. Quita las sandalias de tus pies, porque el lugar donde estás parado es suelo santo.

6 Moreouer he saide, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Izhak, and the God of Iaakob. Then Moses hid his face: for he was afraid to looke vpon God.

También le dijo: Yo soy el ʼElohim de tu padre, de Abraham, Isaac y Jacob. Entonces Moisés ocultó su rostro, porque tuvo temor de mirar a ʼElohim.

7 Then the Lord said, I haue surely seene the trouble of my people, which are in Egypt, and haue heard their crie, because of their taskemasters: for I knowe their sorowes.

Y Yavé dijo: Ciertamente vi la aflicción de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y escuché su clamor por causa de sus opresores, porque conozco sus padecimientos.

8 Therefore I am come downe to deliuer them out of the hande of the Egyptians, and to bring them out of that lande into a good lande and a large, into a lande that floweth with milke and honie, euen into the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hiuites, and the Iebusites.

Así que descendí para librarlos del poder de los egipcios y llevarlos de esa tierra a una tierra buena y espaciosa que fluye leche y miel, al lugar del cananeo, del heteo, del amorreo, del ferezeo, del heveo y del jebuseo.

9 And now lo, the crie of the children of Israel is come vnto me, and I haue also seene ye oppression, wherewith the Egyptians oppresse them.

Ahora, mira, el clamor de los hijos de Israel llegó hasta Mí. También vi la opresión de los egipcios contra ellos.

10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee vnto Pharaoh, that thou maiest bring my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

Por tanto te enviaré a Faraón para que saques de Egipto a mi pueblo, los hijos de Israel.

11 But Moses said vnto God, Who am I, that I should go vnto Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?

Pero Moisés respondió a ʼElohim: ¿Quién soy yo para que vaya a Faraón y saque de Egipto a los hijos de Israel?

12 And he answered, Certainely I will be with thee: and this shall be a token vnto thee, that I haue sent thee, After that thou hast brought the people out of Egypt, ye shall serue God vpon this Mountaine.

Y Él respondió: Ciertamente Yo estaré contigo. Ésta será la señal de que te envié: Cuando saques al pueblo de Egipto, servirán a ʼElohim sobre esta montaña.

13 Then Moses said vnto God, Behold, when I shall come vnto the children of Israel, and shall say vnto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me vnto you: if they say vnto me, What is his Name? what shall I say vnto them?

Entonces Moisés dijo a ʼElohim: Cuando vaya a los hijos de Israel y les diga: El ʼElohim de sus antepasados me envió a ustedes, y ellos me pregunten: ¿Cuál es su Nombre? ¿Qué les diré?

14 And God answered Moses, I Am That I Am. Also he said, Thus shalt thou say vnto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me vnto you.

ʼElohim respondió a Moisés: Yo soy el que soy. Y añadió: Así dirás a los hijos de Israel: Yo soy me envió a ustedes.

15 And God spake further vnto Moses, Thus shalt thou say vnto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Izhak, and the God of Iaakob hath sent me vnto you: this is my Name for euer, and this is my memoriall vnto all ages.

Además ʼElohim dijo a Moisés: Así dirás a los hijos de Israel: Yavé, el ʼElohim de sus antepasados, de Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, me envió a ustedes. Éste es mi Nombre para siempre jamás, Y éste es mi memorial para todas las generaciones.

16 Go and gather the Elders of Israel together, and thou shalt say vnto the, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob appeared vnto me, and said, I haue surely remembred you, and that which is done to you in Egypt.

Vé, reúne a los ancianos de Israel y diles: Yavé, ʼElohim de sus antepasados, de Abraham, Isaac y Jacob, me apareció y me dijo: En verdad los visité y vi lo que se les hace en Egipto.

17 Therefore I did say, I wil bring you out of the affliction of Egypt vnto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hiuites, and the Iebusites, vnto a lande that floweth with milke and honie.

Y dije: Los sacaré de la aflicción de Egipto a la tierra del cananeo, del heteo, del amorreo, del ferezeo, del heveo y del jebuseo, una tierra que fluye leche y miel.

18 Then shall they obey thy voyce, and thou and the Elders of Israel shall go vnto the King of Egypt, and say vnto him, The Lord God of the Ebrewes hath met with vs: we pray thee nowe therefore, let vs goe three dayes iourney in the wildernesse, that we may sacrifice vnto the Lord our God.

Ellos atenderán lo que tú dices. Luego irás tú y los ancianos de Israel ante el rey de Egipto y le dirán: Yavé, el ʼElohim de los hebreos, se encontró con nosotros. Así que ahora te rogamos que nos permitas ir una jornada de tres días al desierto para ofrecer sacrificios a Yavé nuestro ʼElohim.

19 But I know, that the King of Egypt wil not let you goe, but by strong hande.

Sin embargo, Yo sé que el rey de Egipto no los dejará salir, sino forzado por una mano poderosa.

20 Therefore will I stretch out mine hande and smite Egypt with all my wonders, which I will doe in the middes thereof: and after that shall he let you goe.

De manera que Yo extenderé mi mano, golpearé a Egipto con todos mis prodigios que haré en medio de él, y después de esto los dejará ir.

21 And I will make this people to be fauoured of the Egyptians: so that when ye go, ye shall not goe emptie.

Concederé que este pueblo halle gracia ante los egipcios. Sucederá que cuando partan, no se irán vacíos,

22 For euery woman shall aske of her neighbour, and of her that soiourneth in her house, iewels of siluer and iewels of gold and raiment, and ye shall put them on your sonnes, and on your daughters, and shall spoyle the Egyptians.

sino cada mujer pedirá a su vecina y a la huésped de su casa objetos de plata y de oro, y ropa, y los pondrán sobre sus hijos e hijas. Así despojarán a los egipcios.
