Exodus 23
1 Thou shalt not receiue a false tale, neyther shalt thou put thine hande with the wicked, to be a false witnes.
Tu ne lèveras point de faux bruit, [et] tu ne te joindras point au méchant pour être témoin, afin que violence soit faite.
2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do euil, neither agree in a controuersie to decline after many and ouerthrowe the trueth.
Tu ne suivras point la multitude pour mal faire; et tu ne répondras point dans un procès en sorte que tu te détournes après plusieurs pour pervertir [le droit].
3 Thou shalt not esteeme a poore man in his cause.
Tu n'honoreras point le pauvre en son procès.
4 If thou meete thine enemies oxe, or his asse going astray, thou shalt bring him to him againe.
Si tu rencontres le bœuf de ton ennemi, ou son âne égaré, tu ne manqueras point de le lui ramener.
5 If thou see thine enemies asse lying vnder his burden, wilt thou cease to helpe him? thou shalt helpe him vp againe with it.
Si tu vois l'âne de celui qui te hait, abattu sous sa charge, tu t'arrêteras pour le secourir, et tu ne manqueras pas de l'aider.
6 Thou shalt not ouerthrowe the right of thy poore in his sute.
Tu ne pervertiras point le droit de l'indigent qui est au milieu de toi, dans son procès.
7 Thou shalt keepe thee farre from a false matter, and shalt not slaye the innocent and the righteous: for I will not iustifie a wicked man.
Tu t'éloigneras de [toute] parole fausse, et tu ne feras point mourir l'innocent et le juste; car je ne justifierai point le méchant.
8 Thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and peruerteth the wordes of the righteous.
Tu ne prendras point de présent; car le présent aveugle les [plus] éclairés, et pervertit les paroles des justes.
9 Thou shalt not oppresse a stranger: for ye knowe the heart of a stranger, seeing yee were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Tu n'opprimeras point l'étranger; car vous savez ce que c'est que d'être étrangers; parce que vous avez été étrangers au pays d'Egypte.
10 Moreouer, sixe yeres thou shalt sowe thy land, and gather the fruites thereof,
Pendant six ans tu sèmeras ta terre, et en recueilleras le revenu.
11 But the seuenth yeere thou shalt let it rest and lie still, that the poore of thy people may eat, and what they leaue, the beastes of the fielde shall eate. In like maner thou shalt doe with thy vineyard, and with thine oliue trees.
Mais en la septième année tu lui donneras du relâche, et la laisseras reposer, afin que les pauvres de ton peuple en mangent, et que les bêtes des champs mangent ce qui restera; tu en feras de même de ta vigne, et de tes oliviers.
12 Sixe dayes thou shalt do thy worke, and in the seuenth day thou shalt rest, that thine oxe, and thine asse may rest, and the sonne of thy maide and the stranger may be refreshed.
Tu travailleras six jours; mais tu te reposeras au septième jour, afin que ton bœuf et ton âne se reposent, et que le fils de ta servante, et l'étranger reprennent courage.
13 And ye shall take heede to all things that I haue sayde vnto you: and ye shall make no mention of the name of other gods, neither shall it be heard out of thy mouth.
Vous prendrez garde à toutes les choses, que je vous ai commandées. Vous ne ferez point mention du nom des Dieux étrangers; on ne l'entendra point de ta bouche.
14 Three times thou shalt keepe a feast vnto me in the yeere.
Trois fois l'an tu me célébreras une fête solennelle.
15 Thou shalt keepe the feast of vnleauened bread: thou shalt eate vnleauened bread seue dayes, as I commanded thee, in the season of the moneth of Abib: for in it thou camest out of Egypt: and none shall appeare before me emptie:
Tu garderas la fête solennelle des pains sans levain; tu mangeras des pains sans levain pendant sept jours, comme je t'ai commandé, en la saison [et] au mois que les épis mûrissent; car en ce mois-là tu es sorti d'Egypte; et nul ne se présentera devant ma face à vide.
16 The feast also of the haruest of the first fruites of thy labours, which thou hast sowen in the fielde: and the feast of gathering fruites in the ende of the yere, when thou hast gathered in thy labours out of the fielde.
Et la fête solennelle de la moisson des premiers fruits de ton travail, de ce que tu auras semé au champ; et la fête solennelle de la récolte, après la fin de l'année, quand tu auras recueilli du champ [les fruits de] ton travail.
17 These three times in the yeere shall all thy men children appeare before the Lord Iehouah.
Trois fois l'an tous les mâles d'entre vous se présenteront devant le Seigneur l'Eternel.
18 Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leauened bread: neyther shall the fatte of my sacrifice remayne vntill the morning.
Tu ne sacrifieras point le sang de mon sacrifice avec du pain levé; et la graisse de ma fête solennelle ne passera point la nuit jusqu'au matin.
19 The first of the first fruites of thy lande thou shalt bring into the house of the Lord thy God: yet shalt thou not seeth a kid in his mothers milke.
Tu apporteras en la maison de l'Eternel ton Dieu les prémices des premiers fruits de ta terre. Tu ne feras point cuire le chevreau dans le lait de sa mère.
20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keepe thee in the way, and to bring thee to the place which I haue prepared.
Voici, j'envoie un Ange devant toi, afin qu'il te garde dans le chemin, et qu'il t'introduise au lieu que je t'ai préparé.
21 Beware of him, and heare his voyce, and prouoke him not: for he will not spare your misdeedes, because my name is in him.
Donne-toi de garde de [provoquer] sa colère, et écoute sa voix, et ne l'irrite point; car il ne pardonnera point votre péché; parce que mon Nom est en lui.
22 But if thou hearken vnto his voyce, and do all that I speake, the I wil be an enemie vnto thine enemies, and will afflict them that afflict thee.
Mais si tu écoutes attentivement sa voix, et si tu fais tout ce que je te dirai, je serai l'ennemi de tes ennemis, et j'affligerai ceux qui t'affligeront.
23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee vnto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hiuites, and the Iebusites, and I will destroy them.
Car mon Ange mArchera devant toi, et t'introduira au pays des Amorrhéens, des Héthiens, des Phérésiens, des Chananéens, des Héviens, et des Jébusiens, et je les exterminerai.
24 Thou shalt not bow downe to their gods, neither serue them, nor doe after the workes of them: but vtterly ouerthrowe them, and breake in pieces their images.
Tu ne te prosterneras point devant leurs Dieux, et tu ne les serviras point, et tu ne feras point selon leurs œuvres, mais tu les détruiras entièrement, et tu briseras entièrement leurs statues.
25 For ye shall serue the Lord your God, and he shall blesse thy bread and thy water, and I will take all sickenes away from the middes of thee.
Vous servirez l'Eternel votre Dieu; et il bénira ton pain et tes eaux; et j'ôterai les maladies du milieu de toi.
26 There shall none cast their fruite nor be baren in thy lande: the number of thy dayes will I fulfill.
Il n'y aura point en ton pays de femelle qui avorte, ou qui soit stérile; j'accomplirai le nombre de tes jours.
27 I will send my feare before thee, and will destroy all the people among whome thou shalt go: and I will make all thine enemies turne their backes vnto thee:
J'enverrai la terreur de mon Nom devant toi, et j'effrayerai tout peuple vers lequel tu arriveras, et je ferai que tous tes ennemis tourneront le dos devant toi.
28 And I will sende hornets before thee, which shall driue out the Hiuites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites from thy face.
Et j'enverrai des frelons devant toi, qui chasseront les Héviens, les Chananéens, et les Héthiens, de devant ta face.
29 I will not cast them out from thy face in one yeere, least the land grow to a wildernes: and the beasts of the field multiplie against thee.
Je ne les chasserai point de devant ta face en une année, de peur que le pays ne devienne un désert, et que les bêtes des champs ne se multiplie contre toi.
30 By litle and litle I will driue them out from thy face, vntill thou increase, and inherite the lande.
Mais je les chasserai peu à peu de devant toi, jusqu'à ce que tu te sois accru, et que tu possèdes le pays.
31 And I will make thy coastes from the red sea vnto the sea of the Philistims, and from the desert vnto the Riuer: for I will deliuer the inhabitants of the lande into your hande, and thou shalt driue them out from thy face.
Et je mettrai des bornes depuis la mer rouge, jusqu'à la mer des Philistins, et depuis le désert jusqu'au fleuve; car je livrerai entre tes mains les habitants du pays, et je les chasserai de devant toi.
32 Thou shalt make no couenant with them, nor with their gods:
Tu ne traiteras point d'alliance avec eux, ni avec leurs Dieux.
33 Neither shall they dwell in thy lande, least they make thee sinne against me: for if thou serue their gods, surely it shall be thy destruction.
Ils n'habiteront point en ton pays, de peur qu'ils ne te fassent pécher contre moi; car tu servirais leurs Dieux; et [cela] te serait en piège.
