Exodus 19
1 In the third moneth, after the children of Israel were gone out of the lande of Egypt, the same day came they into the wildernes of Sinai.
Ao mês terceiro da saída dos filhos de Israel da terra do Egito, naquele dia vieram ao deserto de Sinai.
2 For they departed from Rephidim, and came to the desart of Sinai, and camped in the wildernesse: euen there Israel camped before the mount.
Porque partiram de Refidim, e chegaram ao deserto de Sinai, e assentaram no deserto; e acampou ali Israel diante do monte.
3 But Moses went vp vnto God, for ye Lord had called out of the mount vnto him, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Iaakob, and tell the children of Israel,
E Moisés subiu a Deus; e o SENHOR o chamou desde o monte, dizendo: Assim dirás à casa de Jacó, e anunciarás aos filhos de Israel:
4 Ye haue seene what I did vnto the Egyptians, and how I caryed you vpon eagles wings, and haue brought you vnto me.
Vós vistes o que fiz aos egípcios, e como vos tomei sobre asas de águas, e vos trouxe a mim.
5 Now therefore if ye wil heare my voyce in deede, and keepe my couenant, then ye shalbe my chiefe treasure aboue all people, though all the earth be mine.
Agora pois, se deres ouvido à minha voz, e guardardes meu pacto, vós sereis meu especial tesouro sobre todos os povos; porque minha é toda a terra.
6 Yee shall be vnto mee also a kingdome of Priestes, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speake vnto the children of Israel.
E vós sereis meu reino de sacerdotes, e gente santa. Estas são as palavras que dirás aos filhos de Israel.
7 Moses then came and called for the Elders of the people, and proposed vnto them all these things, which the Lord commanded him.
Então veio Moisés, e chamou aos anciãos do povo, e propôs em presença deles todas estas palavras que o SENHOR lhe havia mandado.
8 And the people answered all together, and sayd, All that the Lord hath commanded, we will doe. And Moses reported the wordes of the people vnto the Lord.
E todo o povo respondeu em unidade, e disseram: Tudo o que o SENHOR disse faremos. E Moisés referiu as palavras do povo ao SENHOR.
9 And the Lord sayd vnto Moses, Lo, I come vnto thee in a thicke cloude, that the people may heare, whiles I talke with thee, and that they may also beleeue thee for euer. (for Moses had tolde the wordes of the people vnto the Lord)
E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Eis que, eu venho a ti em uma nuvem espessa, para que o povo ouça enquanto eu falo contigo, e também para que te creiam para sempre. E Moisés anunciou as palavras do povo ao SENHOR.
10 Moreouer, the Lord sayd vnto Moses, Goe to the people, and sanctifie them to day and to morow, and let them wash their clothes.
E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Vai ao povo, e santifica-os hoje e amanhã, e lavem suas roupas;
11 And let them be ready on the third day: for the thirde day the Lord will come downe in the sight of all the people vpon mount Sinai:
E estejam prontos para o dia terceiro, porque ao terceiro dia o SENHOR descerá, à vista de todo o povo, sobre o monte de Sinai.
12 And thou shalt set markes vnto the people rounde about, saying, Take heede to your selues that ye goe not vp the mount, nor touche the border of it: whosoeuer toucheth the mount, shall surely die.
E assinalarás termo ao povo em derredor, dizendo: Guardai-vos, não subais ao monte, nem toqueis a seu termo: qualquer um que tocar o monte, certamente morrerá:
13 No hand shall touche it, but he shalbe stoned to death, or striken through with darts: whether it be beast or man, he shall not liue: when the horne bloweth long, they shall come vp into the mountaine.
Não lhe tocará mão, mas será apedrejado ou flechado; seja animal ou seja homem, não viverá. Em havendo soado longamente a trombeta, subirão ao monte.
14 Then Moses went downe from ye mount vnto the people, and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.
E desceu Moisés do monte ao povo, e santificou ao povo; e lavaram suas roupas.
15 And he said vnto the people, Be ready on the third day, and come not at your wiues.
E disse ao povo: Estai prontos para o terceiro dia; não chegueis a mulher.
16 And the thirde day, when it was morning, there was thunders and lightnings, and a thicke cloude vpon the mount, and the sounde of the trumpet exceeding loude, so that all the people, that was in the campe, was afrayde.
E aconteceu ao terceiro dia quando veio a manhã, que vieram trovões e relâmpagos, e espessa nuvem sobre o monte, e som de trombeta muito forte; e estremeceu-se todo o povo que estava no acampamento.
17 Then Moses brought the people out of the tents to meete with God, and they stoode in the nether part of the mount.
E Moisés tirou do acampamento ao povo a receber a Deus; e puseram-se ao abaixo do monte.
18 And mount Sinai was all on smoke, because the Lord came downe vpon it in fire, and the smoke therof ascended, as the smoke of a fornace, and all the mount trembled exceedingly.
E todo o monte de Sinai fumegava, porque o SENHOR havia descido sobre ele em fogo: e a fumaça dele subia como a fumaça de um forno, e todo o monte se estremeceu em grande maneira.
19 And when the sound of the trumpet blew long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by voyce.
E o som da trombeta ia fortalecendo-se em extremo: Moisés falava, e Deus lhe respondia em voz.
20 (For the Lord came downe vpon mount Sinai on the toppe of the mount) and when the Lord called Moses vp into the top of the mount, Moses went vp.
E desceu o SENHOR sobre o monte de Sinai, sobre o cume do monte: e chamou o SENHOR a Moisés ao cume do monte, e Moisés subiu.
21 Then the Lord said vnto Moses, Go down, charge the people, that they breake not their boundes, to go vp to the Lord to gaze, least many of them perish.
E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Desce, exige ao povo que não ultrapassem o termo para ver ao SENHOR, para que não caia multidão deles.
22 And let the Priestes also which come to the Lord be sanctified, least the Lord destroy them.
E também os sacerdotes que se achegam ao SENHOR, se santifiquem, para que o SENHOR não faça neles dano.
23 And Moses sayde vnto the Lord, The people can not come vp into the mount Sinai: for thou hast charged vs, saying, Set markes on the mountaine, and sanctifie it.
E Moisés disse ao SENHOR: O povo não poderá subir ao monte de Sinai, porque tu nos hás exigiste dizendo: Assinala termos ao monte, e santifica-o.
24 And the Lord sayd vnto him, Go, get thee downe, and come vp, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the Priestes and the people breake their boundes to come vp vnto the Lord, least he destroy them.
E o SENHOR lhe disse: Vai, desce, e subirás tu, e Arão contigo: mas os sacerdotes e o povo não ultrapassem o termo para subir ao SENHOR, para que não faça neles dano.
25 So Moses went downe vnto the people, and tolde them.
Então Moisés desceu ao povo e falou com eles.
