Exodus 16
1 Afterward all the Congregation of the children of Israel departed from Elim, and came to the wildernes of Sin, (which is betweene Elim and Sinai) the fiftenth day of the second moneth after their departing out of ye land of Egypt.
Darnach zog die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israel von Elim weg in die Wüste Sin, die zwischen Elim und Sinai liegt, am fünfzehnten Tag des zweiten Monats, nachdem sie aus Ägypten gezogen waren.
2 And the whole Congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wildernesse.
Und die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israel murrte wider Mose und Aaron in der Wüste.
3 For the children of Israel sayde to them, Oh that we had dyed by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when wee sate by the flesh pots, when wee ate bread our bellies full: for yee haue brought vs out into this wildernesse, to kill this whole company with famine.
Und die Kinder Israel sprachen zu ihnen: Wären wir doch durch des HERRN Hand in Ägypten gestorben, als wir bei den Fleischtöpfen saßen und Brot die Fülle zu essen hatten. Denn ihr habt uns darum in diese Wüste ausgeführt, daß ihr diese ganze Gemeinde Hungers sterben lasset!
4 Then sayd the Lord vnto Moses, Behold, I wil cause bread to rayne from heauen to you, and the people shall goe out, and gather that that is sufficient for euery day, that I may proue them, whether they wil walke in my Law or no.
Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Siehe, ich will euch Brot vom Himmel regnen lassen; dann soll das Volk hinausgehen und täglich sammeln, was es bedarf, damit ich erfahre, ob es in meinem Gesetze wandeln wird oder nicht.
5 But the sixt daye they shall prepare that, which they shall bring home, and it shalbe twise as much as they gather dayly.
Am sechsten Tage aber sollen sie zubereiten, was sie eingebracht haben, und zwar doppelt so viel als sie täglich sammeln.
6 Then Moses and Aaron sayde vnto all the children of Israel, At euen ye shall know, that the Lord brought you out of the land of Egypt:
Da sprachen Mose und Aaron zu allen Kindern Israel: Am Abend sollt ihr erfahren, daß euch der HERR aus Ägypten geführt hat,
7 And in the morning ye shall see the glorie of the Lord: for he hath heard your grudgings against the Lord: and what are we that ye haue murmured against vs?
und am Morgen werdet ihr des HERRN Herrlichkeit sehen, denn er hat euer Murren wider den HERRN gehört. Aber was sind wir, daß ihr wider uns murret?
8 Againe Moses sayd, At euen shall the Lord giue you flesh to eate, and in the morning your fil of bread: for the Lord hath heard your murmurings, which ye murmure against him: for what are we? your murmurings are not against vs, but against the Lord.
Weiter sprach Mose: Der HERR wird euch am Abend Fleisch zu essen geben und am Morgen Brot die Fülle; denn er, der HERR, hat euer Murren gehört, womit ihr wider ihn gemurrt habt. Denn was sind wir? Euer Murren ist nicht wider uns, sondern wider den HERRN!
9 And Moses sayd to Aaron, Say vnto all the Congregation of the children of Israel, Draw neere before the Lord: for he hath heard your murmurings.
Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Sage der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israel: Kommt herzu vor den HERRN, denn er hat euer Murren gehört!
10 Now as Aaron spake vnto the whole Congregation of the children of Israel, they looked toward the wildernesse, and beholde, the glory of the Lord appeared in a cloude.
Und als Aaron zu der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israel redete, wandten sie sich gegen die Wüste und siehe, die Herrlichkeit des HERRN erschien in einer Wolke.
11 (For the Lord had spoken vnto Moses, saying,
Und der HERR sprach zu Mose:
12 I haue heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: tell them therefore, and say, At euen ye shall eate flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord your God)
Ich habe das Murren der Kinder Israel gehört. Sage ihnen: Um den Abend sollt ihr Fleisch zu essen haben und am Morgen mit Brot gesättigt werden; also sollt ihr erfahren, daß ich der HERR, euer Gott bin!
13 And so at euen the quailes came and couered the campe: and in the morning the dewe lay round about the hoste.
Als es nun Abend war, kamen Wachteln herauf und bedeckten das Lager, und am Morgen lag der Tau um das Lager her.
14 And when the dewe that was fallen was ascended, beholde, a small round thing was vpon the face of the wildernes, small as the hoare frost on the earth.
Und als der Tau, der da lag, verschwunden war, siehe, da lag etwas in der Wüste, rund und klein, so fein wie der Reif auf der Erde.
15 And when the children of Israel sawe it, they sayde one to another, It is MAN, for they wist not what it was. And Moses sayd vnto them, This is the breade which the Lord hath giuen you to eate.
Und als es die Kinder Israel sahen, sprachen sie untereinander: Was ist das? denn sie wußten nicht, was es war. Mose aber sprach zu ihnen: Es ist das Brot, das euch der HERR zu essen gegeben hat!
16 This is the thing which the Lord hath commanded: gather of it euery man according to his eating an Omer for a man according to the number of your persons: euery man shall take for them which are in his tent.
Das ist aber der Befehl, welchen der HERR gegeben hat: Ein jeder sammle davon, soviel er essen mag, einen Gomer für den Kopf, nach der Zahl eurer Seelen; ein jeder nehme für die, die in seiner Hütte sind.
17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some lesse.
Und die Kinder Israel taten also und sammelten, einer viel, der andere wenig.
18 And when they did measure it with an Omer, hee that had gathered much, had nothing ouer, and he that had gathered litle, had no lacke: so euery man gathered according to his eating.
Aber als man es mit dem Gomer maß, hatte der, welcher viel gesammelt hatte, keinen Überfluß, und dem, der wenig gesammelt hatte, mangelte nichts, sondern ein jeder hatte für sich gesammelt, soviel er essen mochte.
19 Moses then said vnto them, Let no man reserue thereof till morning.
Und Mose sprach zu ihnen: Niemand lasse etwas davon übrigbleiben bis zum andern Morgen!
20 Notwithstanding they obeyed not Moses: but some of them reserued of it till morning, and it was full of wormes, and stanke: therefore Moses was angrie with them.
Aber sie gehorchten Mose nicht; denn etliche ließen davon übrigbleiben bis zum Morgen. Da wuchsen Würmer darin, und es ward stinkend. Und Mose ward zornig über sie.
21 And they gathered it euery morning, euery man according to his eating: for when the heate of the sunne came, it was melted.
Sie sammelten aber von demselben alle Morgen für sich, soviel ein jeder essen mochte; wenn aber die Sonne heiß schien, zerschmolz es.
22 And the sixt day they gathered twise so much bread, two Omers for one man: then all the rulers of the Congregation came and told Moses.
Und am sechsten Tage sammelten sie doppelt so viel Brot, zwei Gomer für jede Person. Da kamen alle Obersten der Gemeinde und verkündigten es Mose.
23 And he answered them, This is that, which the Lord hath sayde, To morowe is the rest of the holy Sabbath vnto the Lord: bake that to day which ye wil bake, and seethe that which ye wil seethe, and all that remaineth, lay it vp to be kept till the morning for you.
Und er sprach zu ihnen: Das ist's, was der HERR gesagt hat: Morgen ist der Sabbat der heiligen Ruhe des HERRN; was ihr backen wollt, das backet, und was ihr kochen wollt, das kochet; was aber übrig ist, das hebet auf, damit es bis morgen erhalten bleibe!
24 And they laied it vp till the morning, as Moses bade, and it stanke not, neyther was there any worme therein.
Und sie ließen es bis an den Morgen bleiben, wie Mose geboten hatte; da ward es nicht stinkend und war auch kein Wurm darin.
25 Then Moses sayde, Eate that to day: for to day is the Sabbath vnto the Lord: to day ye shall not finde it in the fielde.
Da sprach Mose: Esset das heute, denn heute ist der Sabbat des HERRN; ihr werdet es heute nicht auf dem Felde finden.
26 Sixe dayes shall yee gather it, but in the seuenth day is the Sabbath: in it there shalbe none.
Sechs Tage sollt ihr es sammeln, aber am siebenten Tag ist der Sabbat, da wird keines zu finden sein.
27 Notwithstanding, there went out some of the people in ye seuenth day for to gather, and they found none.
Es begab sich aber am siebenten Tage, daß etliche vom Volke hinausgingen zu sammeln und nichts fanden.
28 And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Howe long refuse yee to keepe my commandements, and my lawes?
Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Wie lange weigert ihr euch, meine Gebote und meine Satzungen zu halten?
29 Beholde, howe the Lord hath giuen you the Sabbath: therefore he giueth you the sixt day bread for two dayes: tary therefore euery man in his place: let no man goe out of his place the seuenth day.
Sehet, der HERR hat euch den Sabbat gegeben; darum gibt er euch am sechsten Tage für zwei Tage Brot; so bleibe nun jeder an seinem Platz und niemand gehe am siebenten Tage heraus von seinem Ort!
30 So the people rested the seuenth day.
Also feierte das Volk am siebenten Tag.
31 And the house of Israel called the name of it, MAN. and it was like to coriander seede, but white: and the taste of it was like vnto wafers made with hony.
Und das Haus Israel nannte es Manna. Es war aber wie Koriandersamen, weiß, und hatte einen Geschmack wie Honigkuchen.
32 And Moses said, This is that which the Lord hath commanded, Fill an Omer of it, to keepe it for your posteritie: that they may see the bread wherewith I haue fed you in wildernesse, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Und Mose sprach: Das ist's, was der HERR geboten hat: Fülle einen Gomer davon und behalte ihn auf für eure Nachkommen, daß man das Brot sehe, womit ich euch in der Wüste gespeist habe, als ich euch aus Ägypten führte!
33 Moses also said to Aaron, Take a pot and put an Omer full of MAN therein, and set it before the Lord to be kept for your posteritie.
Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Nimm ein Gefäß und tue einen Gomer voll Manna hinein und stelle es vor den HERRN, zur Aufbewahrung für eure Nachkommen!
34 As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron laied it vp before the Testimonie to be kept.
Wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte, also stellte es Aaron daselbst vor das Zeugnis, zur Aufbewahrung.
35 And the children of Israel did eate MAN fourtie yeres, vntill they came vnto a land inhabited: they did eate MAN vntill they came to the borders of the land of Canaan.
Und die Kinder Israel aßen das Manna vierzig Jahre lang, bis sie zu dem Lande kamen, darin sie wohnen sollten; bis sie an die Grenze Kanaans kamen, aßen sie das Manna.
36 The Omer is the tenth part of the Ephah.
Ein Gomer ist der zehnte Teil eines Epha.
