Exodus 15
1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song vnto the Lord, and sayd in this maner, I will sing vnto the Lord: for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and him that rode vpon him hath he ouerthrowen in the Sea.
Alors, Moïse chanta, avec les fils d'Israël, ce cantique au Seigneur; ils dirent: Chantons au Seigneur, car il s'est glorifié avec éclat, et il a précipité dans la mer le cheval et le cavalier.
2 The Lord is my strength and praise, and he is become my saluation. He is my God, and I will prepare him a tabernacle. he is my fathers God, and I will exalt him.
Il m'a sauvé, il a été mon secours et mon protecteur; c'est mon Dieu, et je le glorifierai; c'est le Dieu de mon père, et je l'exalterai;
3 The Lord is a man of warre, his Name is Iehouah.
C'est le Seigneur qui broie les armées, le Seigneur est son nom.
4 Pharaohs charets and his host hath he cast into the Sea: his chosen captaines also were drowned in the red Sea.
Il a précipité dans la mer les chars du Pharaon et son armée, et les grands de son royaume montés sur des chars; la mer Rouge les a engloutis.
5 The depths haue couered them, they sanke to the bottome as a stone.
Il les a cachés sous les flots; ils se sont enfoncés dans l'abîme comme une pierre.
6 Thy right hande, O Lord, is glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath brused the enemie.
Votre droite, Seigneur, a été glorifiée en sa force; votre main droite, Seigneur, a brisé les ennemis.
7 And in thy great glorie thou hast ouerthrowen them that rose against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as the stubble.
À la plénitude de votre gloire, vous avez exterminé nos persécuteurs, vous avez déchaîné votre colère; elle les a dévorés comme de la paille.
8 And by the blast of thy nostrels the waters were gathered, the floods stoode still as an heape, the depthes congealed together in the heart of the Sea.
Au souffle de votre colère, l'eau s'est séparée, les eaux se sont dressées comme une tour; les flots se sont affermis au milieu de la mer.
9 The enemie sayd, I wil pursue, I wil ouertake them, I will deuide the spoyle, my lust shall bee satisfied vpon them, I will drawe my sworde, mine hand shall destroy them.
L'ennemi a dit: Je poursuivrai, je saisirai, je partagerai les dépouilles; je rassasierai mon âme, je tuerai à coups de glaive; ma main prévaudra.
10 Thou blewest with thy winde, the Sea couered them, they sanke as leade in the mightie waters.
Vous avez envoyé votre souffle: la mer les a cachés; ils ont été submergés, comme du plomb, sous les ondes impétueuses.
11 Who is like vnto thee, O Lord, among the Gods! who is like thee so glorious in holinesse, fearefull in prayses, doing wonders!
Qui donc est semblable à vous parmi les dieux, ô Seigneur? Qui donc est semblable à vous, Dieu, glorifié au milieu des saints, admirable en gloire, fécond en prodiges?
12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hande, the earth swallowed them.
Vous avez étendu votre droite, la terre les a engloutis.
13 Thou wilt by thy mercie cary this people, which thou deliueredst: thou wilt bring them in thy strength vnto thine holy habitation.
Dans votre justice vous avez guidé votre peuple que vous avez racheté, vous l'avez consolé par votre force, pour le conduire au séjour saint de votre repos.
14 The people shall heare and be afraide: sorow shall come vpon the inhabitants of Palestina.
Les nations ont entendu et se sont irritées; les douleurs de la femme qui enfante ont saisi le peuple Philistin.
15 Then the dukes of Edom shalbe amased, and trembling shall come vpon the great men of Moab: all the inhabitantes of Canaan shall waxe faint hearted.
Les chefs d'Edom et les princes des Moabites se sont hâtés, la crainte les a frappés; tous ceux de Chanaan se sont consumés.
16 Feare and dread shall fall vpon them: because of the greatnesse of thine arme, they shalbe stil as a stone, till thy people passe, O Lord: til this people passe, which thou hast purchased.
Que la terreur et l'épouvantement les assaillent; qu'ils soient pétrifiés par la grandeur de votre bras, jusqu'à ce que soit passé votre peuple, ô Seigneur, jusqu'à ce que soit passé ce peuple que vous avez acquis.
17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountaine of thine inheritance, which is the place that thou hast prepared, O Lord, for to dwell in, euen the sanctuarie, O Lord, which thine hands shall establish.
Conduisez ce peuple, établissez-le en la montagne de votre héritage, en la demeure digne de vous que vous vous êtes préparée, Seigneur, en ce lieu consacré qu'ont préparé vos mains.
18 The Lord shall reigne for euer and euer.
Le Seigneur règne sur les siècles, sur les siècles et au delà.
19 For Pharaohs horses went with his charets and horsemen into the Sea, and the Lord brought the waters of the Sea vpon them: but the children of Israel went on drie land in the middes of the Sea.
Les chevaux du Pharaon, ses chars et leurs écuyers, sont entrés dans la mer; et le Seigneur a ramené sur eux les flots, et les fils d'Israël ont marché à pied sec au fond de la mer.
20 And Miriam the prophetesse, sister of Aaron tooke a timbrell in her hande, and all the women came out after her with timbrels and daunces.
Alors, Marie, la prophétesse, sœur d'Aaron, prit en ses mains un tambour, et toutes les femmes sortirent à sa suite, en dansant et en frappant leurs tambours.
21 And Miriam answered the men, Sing yee vnto the Lord: for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath hee ouerthrowen in the Sea.
Et Marie entonna le chœur, disant: Chantons au Seigneur, car il s'est glorifié avec éclat; il a précipité dans la mer le cheval et le cavalier.
22 Then Moses brought Israel from the redde Sea, and they went out into the wildernesse of Shur: and they went three dayes in the wildernesse, and found no waters.
Après cela, Moïse fit quitter aux fils d'Israël les bords de la mer Rouge, et il les conduisit dans le désert de Sur. Ils firent trois journées de marche dans le désert, et ils ne trouvèrent point d'eau à boire.
23 And whe they came to Marah, they could not drinke of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of the place was called Marah.
Arrivés à Mara, ils ne purent boire l'eau qui s'y trouvait, parce qu'elle était amère; c'est pourquoi ils appelèrent ce lieu Amertume (Mara).
24 Then the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drinke?
Et le peuple murmura contre Moïse, disant: Que boirons-nous?
25 And he cried vnto the Lord, and the Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were sweete: there he made them an ordinance and a law, and there he proued them,
Moïse aussitôt cria au Seigneur, et le Seigneur lui montra un arbre dont il jeta le bois dans l'eau; et l'eau devint douce. Là, Dieu lui proposa sa loi et sa justice, après l'avoir éprouvé.
26 And sayd, if thou wilt diligently hearken, O Israel, vnto the voyce of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that, which is right in his sight, and wilt giue eare vnto his commandements, and keepe all his ordinances, then will I put none of these diseases vpon thee, which I brought vpon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
Et le Seigneur lui dit: Si tu écoutes la voix du Seigneur ton Dieu et fais ce qui lui est agréable, si tu observes ses commandements et restes docile à sa justice, je ne te frapperai d'aucune des plaies dont j'ai frappé l'Égypte, car je suis le Seigneur ton Dieu, ton Dieu qui te guéris.
27 And they came to Elim, where were twelue fountaines of water, and seuentie palme trees, and they camped thereby the waters.
De là, ils vinrent à Elim, où il y avait douze sources d'eau vive et soixante-dix palmiers; et ils campèrent au bord des eaux.
