Exodus 13
1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
gebot der HERR dem Mose folgendes:
2 Sanctifie vnto me all the first borne: that is, euery one that first openeth the wombe among the children of Israel, as well of man as of beast: for it is mine.
»Heilige mir alles Erstgeborene, alles, was bei den Israeliten zuerst aus dem Mutterschoß ans Tageslicht hervortritt, von Menschen wie vom Vieh: es gehört mir!«
3 Then Moses sayd vnto the people, Remember this day in the which ye came out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage: for by a mightie hande the Lord brought you out from thence: therefore no leauened bread shall bee eaten.
Hierauf sagte Mose zum Volk: »Gedenkt des heutigen Tages, an dem ihr aus Ägypten weggezogen seid, aus dem Hause der Knechtschaft! Denn mit starker Hand hat der HERR euch von dort weggeführt; daher darf nichts Gesäuertes gegessen werden!
4 This day come yee out in the moneth of Abib.
Heute zieht ihr aus im Monat Abib.
5 Now when the Lord hath brought thee into the land of the Canaanites, and Hittites, and Amorites, and Hiuites, and Iebusites (which he sware vnto thy fathers, that he woulde giue thee, a land flowing with milke and honie) then thou shalt keepe this seruice in this moneth.
Wenn dich nun der HERR in das Land der Kanaanäer, Hethiter, Amoriter, Hewiter und Jebusiter gebracht hat, dessen Verleihung er deinen Vätern einst zugeschworen hat, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt, so sollst du diesen heiligen Brauch in diesem Monat beobachten:
6 Seuen dayes shalt thou eate vnleauened bread, and the seuenth day shall be the feast of the Lord.
Sieben Tage lang sollst du ungesäuertes Brot essen, und am siebten Tage findet ein Fest zu Ehren des HERRN statt!
7 Vnleauened bread shall bee eaten seuen dayes, and there shall no leauened bread be seene with thee, nor yet leauen be seene with thee in all thy quarters.
Während der sieben Tage soll ungesäuertes Brot gegessen werden, und nichts Gesäuertes und kein Sauerteig darf in deinem ganzen Gebiet zu finden sein!
8 And thou shalt shew thy sonne in that day, saying, This is done, because of that which the Lord did vnto me, when I came out of Egypt.
Deinen Kindern aber sollst du an diesem Tage folgendes kundtun: ›(Diesen Brauch beobachte ich) zur Erinnerung an das, was der HERR an mir getan hat, als ich aus Ägypten auszog.‹
9 And it shalbe a signe vnto thee vpon thine hande, and for a remembrance betweene thine eyes, that the Lawe of the Lord may be in thy mouth: for by a strong hand the Lord brought thee out of Egypt.
Und (dieser Brauch) soll dir gleichsam ein Denkzeichen an deiner Hand und ein Erinnerungsmal auf deiner Stirn sein, damit das Gesetz des HERRN in deinem Munde lebendig bleibt; denn mit starker Hand hat der HERR dich aus Ägypten weggeführt.
10 Keepe therefore this ordinance in his season appoynted from yeere to yeere.
Darum sollst du diese Satzung zur bestimmten Zeit Jahr für Jahr beobachten!«
11 And when the Lord shall bring thee into the lande of the Canaanites, as hee sware vnto thee and to thy fathers, and shall giue it thee,
»Wenn der HERR dich dann, wie er es dir und deinen Vätern zugeschworen hat, in das Land der Kanaanäer gebracht und es dir zum Besitz gegeben hat,
12 Then thou shalt set apart vnto the Lord all that first openeth the wombe: also euery thing that first doeth open the wombe, and commeth forth of thy beast: the males shalbe the Lordes.
so sollst du dem HERRN alles weihen, was zuerst aus dem Mutterschoß ans Tageslicht hervortritt! Auch jeder erste Wurf des Viehs, der dir zuteil wird, soweit er männlich ist, gehört dem HERRN.
13 But euery first foale of an asse, thou shalt redeeme with a lambe: and if thou redeeme him not, then thou shalt breake his necke: likewise all the first borne of man among thy sonnes shalt thou bye out.
Jedes erstgeborene Eselfüllen aber sollst du mit einem Stück Kleinvieh loskaufen; oder, wenn du es nicht loskaufen willst, so brich ihm das Genick! Weiter sollst du jede Erstgeburt vom Menschen bei deinen Söhnen loskaufen!
14 And when thy sonne shall aske thee to morowe, saying, What is this? thou shalt then say vnto him, With a mightie hande the Lord brought vs out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Wenn dann dein Sohn künftig die Frage an dich richtet: ›Was bedeutet dieser Brauch?‹, so antworte ihm: ›Mit starker Hand hat der HERR uns aus Ägypten, aus dem Hause der Knechtschaft, weggeführt.
15 For when Pharaoh was harde hearted against our departing, the Lord then slewe all the first borne in the lande of Egypt: from the first borne of man euen to the first borne of beast: therefore I sacrifice vnto the Lord all the males that first open the wombe, but all the first borne of my sonnes I redeeme.
Denn weil der Pharao sich hartnäckig dagegen sträubte, uns ziehen zu lassen, hat der HERR alle Erstgeburt in Ägypten sterben lassen, von den Erstgeborenen der Menschen an bis zur Erstgeburt des Viehs; darum opfere ich dem HERRN alle männlichen Erstgeburten, aber jeden Erstgeborenen meiner Söhne kaufe ich los.‹
16 And it shalbe as a token vpon thine hand, and as frontlets betweene thine eyes, that the Lord brought vs out of Egypt by a mightie hande.
Und dieser Brauch soll dir gleichsam ein Denkzeichen an deiner Hand und ein Erinnerungsmal auf deiner Stirn sein; denn mit starker Hand hat der HERR uns aus Ägypten weggeführt!«
17 Nowe when Pharaoh had let the people go, God caried them not by the way of the Philistims countrey, though it were neerer: (for God sayd, Lest the people repent whe they see warre, and turne againe to Egypt)
Als nun der Pharao das Volk hatte ziehen lassen, führte Gott sie nicht in der Richtung nach dem Lande der Philister, obgleich dies der nächste Weg gewesen wäre; denn Gott dachte: Das Volk könnte es sich gereuen lassen, wenn es Krieg in Aussicht hätte, und möchte wieder nach Ägypten zurückkehren.
18 But God made the people to go about by the way of the wildernesse of the red sea: and the children of Israel went vp armed out of the land of Egypt.
Darum ließ Gott das Volk sich seitwärts in der Richtung nach der Wüste, gegen das Schilfmeer hin, wenden, und kampfgerüstet zogen die Israeliten aus Ägypten ab.
19 (And Moses tooke the bones of Ioseph with him: for he had made the children of Israel sweare, saying, God will surely visite you, and ye shall take my bones away hence with you)
Mose nahm aber die Gebeine Josephs mit; denn dieser hatte die Israeliten feierlich schwören lassen und gebeten: »Wenn Gott sich einst an euch gnädig erweist, dann nehmt meine Gebeine von hier mit euch!«
20 So they tooke their iourney from Succoth, and camped in Etham in the edge of the wildernesse.
So brachen sie denn von Sukkoth auf und lagerten in Etham am Rande der Wüste.
21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloude to leade them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to giue them light, that they might go both by day and by night.
Der HERR aber zog vor ihnen her, bei Tage in einer Wolkensäule, um ihnen den Weg zu zeigen, und nachts in einer Feuersäule, um ihnen zu leuchten, damit sie bei Tag und bei Nacht wandern könnten:
22 He tooke not away the pillar of ye cloude by day, nor the pillar of fire by night from before the people.
nicht wich die Wolkensäule bei Tage und nicht die Feuersäule nachts von der Spitze des Zuges.
