Esther 9
1 So in the twelft moneth, which is the moneth Adar, vpon the thirteenth daye of the same, when the Kings commandement and his decree drew neere to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Iewes hoped to haue power ouer them (but it turned contrary: for the Iewes had rule ouer them that hated them)
Und im zwölften Monat, das ist der Monat Adar, am dreizehnten Tage desselben, als das Wort des Königs und sein Befehl zur Ausführung kommen sollte, an dem Tage, da die Feinde der Juden gehofft hatten, sie zu überwältigen (es wandte sich aber, so daß sie, die Juden, ihre Hasser überwältigten),
2 The Iewes gathered themselues together into their cities throughout all the prouinces of the King Ahashuerosh, to lay hande on such as sought their hurt, and no man coulde withstande them: for the feare of them fel vpon al people.
da versammelten sich die Juden in ihren Städten, in allen Landschaften des Königs Ahasveros, um Hand an diejenigen zu legen, welche ihr Unglück suchten. Und niemand konnte vor ihnen bestehen, denn die Furcht vor ihnen war auf alle Völker gefallen.
3 And all the rulers of the prouinces, and the princes and the captaines, and the officers of the King exalted the Iewes: for the feare of Mordecai fell vpon them.
Und alle Fürsten der Landschaften und die Satrapen und die Landpfleger und diejenigen, welche die Geschäfte des Königs besorgten, unterstützten die Juden; denn die Furcht vor Mordokai war auf sie gefallen.
4 For Mordecai was great in the kings house, and the report of him went through all the prouinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.
Denn Mordokai war groß im Hause des Königs, und sein Ruf ging durch alle Landschaften; denn der Mann Mordokai wurde immerfort größer.
5 Thus the Iewes smote all their enemies with strokes of the sworde and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they woulde vnto those that hated them.
Und die Juden richteten unter allen ihren Feinden eine Niederlage an, indem sie sie erstachen, ermordeten und umbrachten; und sie taten an ihren Hassern nach ihrem Wohlgefallen.
6 And at Shushan the palace slewe the Iewes and destroyed fiue hundreth men,
Und in der Burg Susan töteten die Juden und brachten um fünfhundert Mann;
7 And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
und sie töteten Parschandatha und Dalphon und Aspatha
8 And Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
und Poratha und Adalja und Aridatha
9 And Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vaiezatha,
und Parmaschtha und Arisai und Aridai und Wajesatha,
10 The ten sonnes of Haman, ye sonne of Ammedatha, the aduersarie of the Iewes slewe they: but they layd not their hands on the spoyle.
die zehn Söhne Hamans, des Sohnes Hammedathas, des Widersachers der Juden; aber an die Beute legten sie ihre Hand nicht.
11 On the same day came ye nomber of those that were slayne, vnto the palace of Shushan before the King.
An selbigem Tage kam die Zahl der in der Burg Susan Getöteten vor den König.
12 And the King sayd vnto the Queene Ester, The Iewes haue slayne in Shushan the palace and destroyed fiue hundreth men, and the ten sonnes of Haman: what haue they done in the rest of the Kings prouinces? and what is thy petition, that it may be giuen thee? or what is thy request moreouer, that it may be performed?
Und der König sprach zu der Königin Esther: In der Burg Susan haben die Juden fünfhundert Mann und die zehn Söhne Hamans getötet und umgebracht; was mögen sie in den übrigen Landschaften des Königs getan haben! Doch was ist deinen Bitte? und sie soll dir gewährt werden. Und was ist noch dein Begehr? und es soll geschehen.
13 Then sayd Ester, If it please the King, let it be granted also to morow to the Iewes that are in Shushan, to do according vnto this daies decree, that they may hang vpon ye tree Hamans ten sonnes.
Und Esther sprach: Wenn es den König gut dünkt, so werde auch morgen den Juden, die in Susan sind, gestattet, nach dem heutigen Befehle zu tun; und die zehn Söhne Hamans hänge man an das Holz.
14 And the King charged to doe so, and the decree was giuen at Shushan, and they hanged Hamans ten sonnes.
Da befahl der König, daß also geschehen sollte; und der Befehl wurde zu Susan erlassen, und man hängte die zehn Söhne Hamans.
15 So the Iewes that were in Shushan, assembled themselues vpon the fourteenth day of the moneth Adar, and slew three hundreth men in Shushan, but on the spoyle they layd not their hand.
Und die Juden, die in Susan waren, versammelten sich auch am vierzehnten Tage des Monats Adar und töteten in Susan dreihundert Mann; aber an die Beute legten sie ihre Hand nicht.
16 And the rest of the Iewes that were in the Kings prouinces assembled themselues, and stood for their liues, and had rest from their enemies, and slewe of them that hated them, seuentie and fiue thousand: but they layd not their hand on the spoyle.
Und die übrigen Juden, die in den Landschaften des Königs waren, versammelten sich und standen für ihr Leben ein und erhielten Ruhe vor ihren Feinden; und sie töteten unter ihren Hassern fünfundsiebzigtausend; aber an die Beute legten sie ihre Hand nicht.
17 This they did on the thirteenth day of the moneth Adar, and rested the fourteenth day thereof, and kept it a day of feasting and ioy.
Das geschah am dreizehnten Tage des Monats Adar; und am Vierzehnten des Monats ruhten sie, und sie machten ihn zu einem Tage des Gastmahls und der Freude.
18 But the Iewes that were in Shushan assembled themselues on the thirteenth day, and on the fourteenth therof, and they rested on the fifteenth of the same, and kept it a day of feasting and ioy.
Aber die Juden, die in Susan waren, hatten sich am Dreizehnten des Monats und des Vierzehnten des Monats versammelt; und sie ruhten am Fünfzehnten des Monats und machten ihn zu einem Tage des Gastmahls und der Freude.
19 Therefore the Iewes of the villages that dwelt in the vnwalled townes, kept the foureteenth day of the moneth Adar with ioy and feasting, euen a ioyfull day, and euery one sent presents vnto his neighbour.
Darum feiern die Juden des platten Landes, die in den offenen Städten wohnen, den vierzehnten Tag des Monats Adar als einen Tag der Freude und des Gastmahls, und als einen Festtag, wo man einander Teile sendet.
20 And Mordecai wrote these words, and sent letters vnto all the Iewes that were through all the prouinces of the King Ahashuerosh, both neere and farre,
Und Mordokai schrieb diese Begebenheiten auf. Und er sandte Briefe an alle Juden, in allen Landschaften des Königs Ahasveros, die nahen und die fernen,
21 Inioyning them that they shoulde keepe the fourteenth day of the moneth Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, euery yeere.
um ihnen festzusetzen, daß sie den vierzehnten Tag des Monats Adar und den fünfzehnten Tag desselben Jahr für Jahr feiern sollten,
22 According to the dayes wherein the Iewes rested from their enemies, and the moneth which was turned vnto them from sorowe to ioy, and from mourning into a ioyfull day, to keepe them the dayes of feasting, and ioy, and to sende presents euery man to his neyghbour, and giftes to the poore.
als die Tage, an welchen die Juden Ruhe erlangt hatten vor ihren Feinden, und als den Monat, wo sich ihnen Kummer in Freude, und Trauer in einen Festtag verwandelt hatte, daß sie dieselben feiern sollten als Tage des Gastmahls und der Freude, wo man einander Teile sendet und Geschenke an die Armen gibt.
23 And the Iewes promised to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written vnto them,
Und die Juden nahmen als Brauch an, was sie zu tun angefangen, und was Mordokai ihnen geschrieben hatte.
24 Because Haman the sonne of Hammedatha the Agagite al the Iewes aduersarie, had imagined against the Iewes, to destroy them, and had cast Pur (that is a lot) to consume and destroy them.
Denn Haman, der Sohn Hammedathas, der Agagiter, der Widersacher aller Juden, hatte gegen die Juden den Anschlag ersonnen, sie umzubringen, und hatte das Pur, das ist das Los, geworfen, um sie zu vertilgen und sie umzubringen.
25 And when she came before the King, he commanded by letters, Let this wicked deuise (which he imagined against the Iewes) turne vpon his owne head, and let them hang him and his sonnes on the tree.
Und als es vor den König kam, befahl er durch einen Brief, daß sein böser Anschlag, den er gegen die Juden ersonnen hatte, auf seinen Kopf zurückkehre; und man hängte ihn und seine Söhne an das Holz.
26 Therfore they called these dayes Purim, by the name of Pur, and because of all the wordes of this letter, and of that which they had seene besides this, and of that which had come vnto them.
Darum nannte man diese Tage Purim, nach dem Namen des Pur. Deshalb, wegen all der Worte dieses Briefes, sowohl dessen, was sie selbst davon gesehen hatten, als auch was zu ihnen gelangt war,
27 The Iewes also ordeined, and promised for them and for their seede, and for all that ioyned vnto them, that they would not faile to obserue those two dayes euery yeere, according to their writing, and according to their season,
setzten die Juden fest und nahmen auf sich und auf ihre Nachkommen und auf alle, die sich ihnen anschlossen, als eine ewige Satzung, diese beiden Tage zu feiern, nach dem, was darüber geschrieben worden war, und nach ihrer bestimmten Zeit, Jahr für Jahr;
28 And that these dayes shoulde be remembred, and kept throughout euery generation and euery familie, and euery prouince, and euery citie: euen these daies of Purim should not faile among the Iewes, and the memoriall of them should not perish from their seede.
und daß diese Tage im Andenken bleiben und gefeiert werden sollten in jedem einzelnen Geschlecht, in jeder einzelnen Familie, in jeder einzelnen Landschaft und in jeder einzelnen Stadt; und daß diese Purimtage unter den Juden nicht untergehen, und ihr Andenken nicht aufhören sollte bei ihren Nachkommen.
29 And the Queene Ester ye daughter of Abihail and Mordecai the Iew wrote with al authoritie (to cofirme this letter of Purim ye second time)
Und die Königin Esther, die Tochter Abichails, und Mordokai, der Jude, schrieben mit allem Nachdruck, um diesen zweiten Brief über die Purim festzusetzen.
30 And he sent letters vnto al the Iewes to the hundreth and seuen and twentie prouinces of the kingdome of Ahashuerosh, with words of peace and trueth,
Und er sandte Briefe an alle Juden, in die hundersiebenundzwanzig Landschaften, das Königreich Ahasveros', Worte des Friedens und der Wahrheit,
31 To confirme these dayes of Purim, according to their seasons, as Mordecai the Iewe and Ester the Queene had appointed them, and as they had promised for them selues and for their seede with fasting and prayer.
um diese Purimtage in ihren bestimmten Zeiten festzusetzen, so wie Mordokai, der Jude, und die Königin Esther es ihnen festgesetzt hatten, und wie sie es für sich selbst und für ihre Nachkommen festgesetzt hatten, nämlich die Angelegenheit der Fasten und ihrer Wehklage.
32 And the decree of Ester confirmed these words of Purim, and was written in the booke.
Und der Befehl Esthers setzte diese Purim-Angelegenheit fest, und er wurde in ein Buch geschrieben.
