Esther 7
1 So the King and Haman came to banket with the Queene Ester.
Entonces el rey y Amán vinieron a tomar vino con la reina Ester.
2 And the King said againe vnto Ester on the second day at the banket of wine, What is thy petition, Queene Ester, that it may be giue thee? and what is thy request? It shalbe euen perfourmed vnto the halfe of the kingdome.
Y el rey volvió a decirle a Ester el segundo día, mientras estaban bebiendo: ¿Cuál es tu deseo, reina Ester? porque te será dado; y cual es tu petición porque así se hará, hasta la mitad de mi reino.
3 And Ester the Queene answered, and said, If I haue found fauour in thy sight, O King, and if it please the King, let my life be giuen me at my petition, and my people at my request.
Entonces respondiendo la reina Ester, dijo: Si tengo tu aprobación, oh rey, y si es un placer del rey, que me den mi vida en respuesta a mi oración, y mi gente a mi pedido:
4 For we are solde, I, and my people, to be destroyed, to be slayne and to perish: but if we were solde for seruants, and for handmaides, I woulde haue helde my tongue: although the aduersarie could not recompense the Kings losse.
Porque estamos entregados, yo y mi pueblo, a la destrucción y la muerte. Si nos hubieran tomado como sirvientes y sirvientas por un precio, no habría dicho nada, porque nuestro problema es poco en comparación con la pérdida del rey.
5 Then King Ahashuerosh answered, and said vnto the Queene Ester, Who is he? and where is he that presumeth to doe thus?
Entonces el rey Asuero dijo a la reina Ester: ¿Quién es él y dónde está el que tuvo este mal pensamiento en su corazón?
6 And Ester said, The aduersarie and enemie is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afrayde before the King and the Queene.
Y Ester dijo: Nuestro enemigo y atacante es este malvado Amán. Entonces Amán se llenó de temor ante el rey y la reina.
7 And the King arose from ye banket of wine in his wrath, and went into the palace garden: but Haman stood vp, to make request for his life to the Queene Ester: for he sawe that there was a mischiefe prepared for him of the King.
Y el rey en su ira se levantó de la fiesta y entró en el jardín. Y Amán se puso de pie para hacer una oración por su vida a la reina Ester, porque vio que el propósito del rey era malo contra él.
8 And when the King came againe out of the palace garden, into the house where they dranke wine, Haman was fallen vpon the bed whereon Ester sate! therefore the King sayd, Will he force the Queene also before me in the house? As the worde went out of the Kings mouth, they couered Hamans face.
Luego el rey volvió del jardín a la habitación donde habían estado bebiendo; y Amán estaba tendido en el asiento donde estaba Ester. Entonces el rey dijo: ¿Está tomando a la reina por la fuerza delante de mis ojos en mi casa? Y mientras las palabras estaban en los labios del rey, cubrieron el rostro de Amán.
9 And Harbonah one of the eunuches, sayde in the presence of the King, Beholde, there standeth yet the tree in Hamans house fiftie cubites hie, which Haman had prepared for Mordecai, that spake good for the King. Then the King sayd, Hang him thereon.
Entonces Harbona, uno de los eunucos al servicio del rey, dijo: Mira, la horca de cincuenta codos de altura que Aman hizo para Mardoqueo, quien dijo una buena palabra a favor del rey, todavía está en su lugar en la casa de Hamán. Entonces el rey dijo: “Déjalo morir colgando de él.
10 So they hanged Haman on the tree, that he had prepared for Mordecai: then was the Kings wrath pacified.
Entonces Amán fue ejecutado al colgarlo de la columna que había hecho para Mardoqueo. Entonces la ira del rey se calmó.
